I really like this place, BUT I WAS REFUSED SERVICE BECAUSE I WAS ASSISTED BY MY SERVICE ANIMAL. THE EMPLOYEE ASK ME TO LEAVE AND SAID THE OWNER DOSE NOT ACCEPT ANY SERVICE ANIMALS. I OFFERED MY GUILD DOGS CERTIFICATIONS AND AGAIN ASK TO LEAVE! I BELIEVE THAT IS A FEDERAL DISCRIMINATION ACT! I was assisted by my husband on 2 other visits and found it worthy to revisit. This is not the case when I returned with my guild dog. I offered the credentials and was asked to leave the property. Hopefully I will return to drop off a letter to owner explaining it the law, I'm not being combatitive but if someone needs a witness there been discrimated in the same matter at this establishment,I will tell them about my encounter. read more

I was very disappointed with my recent experience at River Valley Tavern. When I arrived with my service dog, I was told that dogs were not allowed inside and was refused service. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service animals are legally permitted in restaurants and other public businesses. Arizona state law also follows this federal protection. Denying access to someone with a service animal is discrimination and against the law. Instead of accommodating me, I was treated unfairly and made to feel unwelcome. This was not only frustrating but also hurtful. I hope the owner and management and staff will take time to educate themselves on ADA requirements so that no one else with a disability has to go through this experience. I did call the local sheriffs and they took a report and went in and spoke to the owner and staff to advise them of the legalities of denying access for service animals. The staff informed the sheriff that they did not know the law, which is untrue because we informed them of the laws and my rights. The staff was very rude to myself and my family. read more

I came into River Valley Tavern last week looking for River Rat Pizza, and ended up hanging out here for a couple hours meeting other locals and having a good time. Alex did a great job taking care of everyone and had a very positive vibe that was refreshing. Lucky III's DUDE RANCH OUTLAWS; -- after being invited to perform a free show for the locals, were kicked out of the River Valley Tavern October 24 by the request of the owner, after the band set up to play a free show of authentic outlaw country western music with special guest Lucky White Jr. on bass guitar. Doc Paul traveled all the way from Oatman with his C-6 lap steel guitar only to turn around and go home. The owner wouldn't allow Lucky White's service dog who also acts as the bands mascot to enter the Tavern. Out of honor and loyalty to our bass player, and doggy band mascot we packed it up and high tailed it out of there. The patrons of the River Valley Tavern missed out on a great 'FREE' performance from an authentic country western band, with one of the best bass players in country western music. The band set up and tore down without ever playing a note. Not a very good experience. read more

well I drove out from ca to play bass for the dude ranch outlaws the gig went great . we were in the mood to play more so we went (invited) to the river Vally tavern. set up, the whole band got ready to put on a free show and get a bit to eat. the owner denied our 7 pound (service) dog entry and kicked us out. we will go back next year with a group of vets and there service dogs we will be back. we might as well invite the ADA with us. read more

The Tavern is a neighborhood bar that sits on the 95 on the Arizona side of the river. My BFF's and I come here whenever we go to the river. Sue will make you a fantastic Bloody Mary, poor you an ice cold beer (in a chilled mug), make you a cocktail to your liking, and make you feel welcome to sit at the bar. Bar patrons are friendly and come as they are. Order a sandwich from the sandwich dude while you are there. Best sandwiches by far. You can pack them up and take them out on the boat or your quad... I went here with friends on Thursday night for Karaoke. What a BAD decision. The KJ was fine but the bar rearranged the tables and added a pool table along with the one they had and placed them both in front of the Karaoke stage. Now you can't see the majority of the participants and they can't see you when you're singing. To make things worse the woman bartender bitched everyone out who complained about the new arrangement. Needless to say most of us won't be going back. read more

I stopped in here about a year ago travelling back home to Houston from the OC. Was staying at Needles KOA and was looking for a couple of beers. This is a friendly local bar. I just stayed for a couple of beers on a Saturday afternoon. The place was quiet with just a few patrons. Everyone was friendly including the bartender - The beer was cold and the TV was showing college football. I am planning to pass thru the area again this year and will probably stop in again. read more

Stopped in on the recommendation of a friend and glad I did. I thought the place was nice and the staff keeps it cleaned up. On Monday night it was free pool and we played a few games. I was a little skeptical of ordering pizza from a bar but I was impressed. Harry took pride in the pizza he made and it showed. Good crust, good ingredients, and a good price as well. All in all I like the place and would like to visit again when there is some live music on the stage. read more

The Owners have run this place into the ground, to the point that most of the regulars don't even come in anymore, most friday and saturday nights their is only 2 to 6 people in the Tavern anymore, The big sign out front says food, they only serve pizza and thats it, nothing else. and when I asked they only have 4 toppings to pick from, also the last 5 star review given by Anthony is one of the owners, so I would ignore it completely, and its against yelps posting policy for a owner to review their own establishment. read more
