I never felt like I was in a scary hospital setting, and people paid attention and checked in on me often. I was honestly terrified. He took the time to stop and speak calmly with me, reassuring me all would be fine. He took time. He showed compassion. He was above-and-beyond professional... but more importantly, he was kind. Providers like Dr. Khemlani are FEW are FAR BETWEEN. Providers that truly express empathy and grace are a rare find any more and I'm quite lucky to have been referred to him. Even better, he has a ridiculously good sense of humor and made the rather unpleasant procedure 100% tolerable... painless one would say. When a medical office is difficult to reach before you are even seen, that raises serious concerns about how responsive they will be once you are actually under their care. After receiving no confirmation, I contacted the office. When I did not receive a confirmation of the cancellation, I called a second time and left a voicemail message canceling my appointment a second time. Despite that, I was later billed as a "no show", which is unacceptable. If the office fails to respond, fails to properly confirm an appointment, and then fails to process a cancellation, the patient should not be penalized for that breakdown. I cannot speak to the doctor's medical care because I never made it that far. But I can speak to the office experience, and it was poor enough that I chose not to proceed. For anyone dealing with pain, the last thing you need is added stress, unclear communication, and billing issues before care has even begun. This experience left me with the impression that the practice is more focused on collecting fees than making patients feel heard, supported, and properly cared for.

It took about a month for me to get in so when I went in I was not even 2 months post op from my ankle surgery. I met with Jacob who is Dr. Ho's PA. After about 10 mins of telling him about the issues I've been having, I was told I had a rare pain disorder and then offered an array of options that could help with my nerve pain ranging from injections to a very invasive nerve stimulator that could be implanted after a trial period. The nerve stimulator was really being pushed and I felt overwhelmed the whole appointment because I wasn't even 2 months post op and I'm being told that I had this pain disorder and would need to get a nerve stimulator implanted if my symptoms didn't improve. Which again, I wasn't even 2 months post op. During this appt I did meet with Dr. Ho and he said that he agreed with Jacob on the plan, which was prescribe an anti inflammatory and order a lumbar MRI. when I asked the Dr. how long it could take to recover from this CRPS and he said, "it could not get better and last forever" and "sometimes PT can help like you're doing already"then was pushed on this nerve stimulator again by him. I was told to consider the injection and other treatment options they offered and that they would call me back when my MRI results came in. Fast forward to my MRI being done and scheduling another appt. It wouldn't be for another month. On 6/12/26, I called the clinic due to my sciatic pain getting worse and asked if I could make my appt for 6/24/26 to an injection appt instead since that was offered to me at my first appt. I was told that I had to have a follow up appt first before I booked an injection appt and that if I did an injection it would have to be on a different date. I shared my frustration of how I feel it's a waste of time and a co pay for me to just drive all the way out to Tigard to talk about an MRI and that since an injection was offered I don't understand why I can't just do that. I got nowhere with that conversation and was offered a virtual appt instead so I didn't have to waste time driving out to the clinic to go over my MRI results. I really tried to give this clinic a chance but it seems like they are just looking to string you along to get as many co pays from you and sell you on really expensive procedures and equipment. It's unethical and unprofessional. Needless to say, I will be cancelling my future appts and will be seeking a second opinion from another pain management clinic. Don't waste your time and do what's best for you, this clinic does not care about you. They just want your money.

He's also very encouraging. Dr. Gentry is attentive and does well with chiropractic care. Kimberly is a great office manager and gets things done while Misael, the medical assistant is gentle and has a nurturing spirit. All of the providers are Doctor level providers. I started going to Compass after a motor vehicle accident when Kaiser wouldn't diagnose my injuries correctly, which means they couldn't treat my injuries adequately. I despise driving downtown but do it because of the high quality care Compass provides. They bill my car insurance company for care using my PIP coverage. Try them out, you won't regret it! We've been patients at Sellwood Medical/Pediatrics since 2013, and we're so beyond done with this…read moreplace. I'd warn friends and family to stay away. Our favorite providers (Dr Pritchard and Nancy Casey) left. Some staff members can be pretty unhelpful and truly only seem to care about their billing and rules. The other negative reviews are spot on, sadly. (The current exception is Jonathan, a medical assistant in the adult clinic--he's kind, personable, and was excellent with my teen, but alas, he only does the check in/vitals part). They are consistently late--we always wait at least 30 minutes up to an hour most recently for our appointment to begin, and this is in addition to taking kids out of school to be there 15-20 minutes early to check in! They absolutely do not respect a patient's time and offer zero apology. It's maddening. I've messaged different providers for different family members or reasons, and the same person writes back each time, so it's definitely not secure or private in any way. She also types the absolute minimum and doesn't seem to want to help in any way, but if you call, they tell you to message via the portal. They up-charged us for longer or more involved appointments for my kids even though we've only discussed one issue at the short appointment, and when I questioned the billing department, they said they'd immediately remove the charge since I asked about it. Since I asked?! So if people don't notice and question the additional charge, they just get scammed? Appalling. They recently told me the next available check in for a child was in several months. I said our prescription will lapse before then, and they asked if I still wanted to schedule. I had to point out in writing that they need to refill the prescription temporarily so it doesn't lapse if we have to wait for an appointment or else please fit us in for even a video appointment. I had to fight this back and forth and once I said I need to confirm you are refusing to refill a child's necessary medicine prescription and also making her wait for an appointment so the medicine will lapse and it will affect her health immediately--finally then they suddenly had an appointment available in two days (which was a video appointment where we waited almost an hour for them to come online and didn't until I called the office and told them we were online waiting.) The final straw was in taking a teen to discuss a medical issue they were already anxious about, and the provider made a big deal about her weight to the point of hinting that she'll develop an eating disorder (child feels fine about their diet and eats well/healthy) and we left the appointment with teen crying and anxious about a condition they don't even have! We're done with SMC, and I'm so sad. Dr Pritchard and Nancy Casey were amazing women and great resources for our neighborhood, but sadly this place has gone so far downhill since they left that I won't risk my kids' health here anymore.
