Dr. Bryan Baisinger erased my menstrual cramps! I did a series of 6 pelvic floor sessions and I've had five months in a row of light or no cramps. Twice my period surprised me because I had no warning signs! I went in for tailbone (coccyx) pain which also improved significantly. He is an absolute expert. He's kind, personable, and funny. I came to Clearwater Clinic after an acute back injury impeding my ability to stand up past 90 degrees. Devastated and certain I'd be out of the gym for months, I scheduled (a same-day appointment) hoping to get some relief from my severe pain. I walked out of my first appointment completely upright and with significantly less discomfort. I'm grateful for the outstanding care I've had a Clearwater. Dr. Bryan Baisinger has amazing diagnostic abilities. He's also focused on solving the root of the problem, not merely treating the symptoms. He adjusted me over three visits and used a handful of other techniques (electro stim is awesome! It's like a hot rocks massage!) to get my muskoskeletal system back online. Then, I worked with Dr. Lekas who trained me to do exercises specific for my problem. He does an outstanding job of teaching you to feel when you are doing it correctly or not so that you have proper form at home. These exercises are a magical spell that keep my back from flaring up. The clinic is a very relaxing, comforting place with warm yellow walls and soft lighting. Everyone I've met there has been pleasant to work with. It's a great environment for healing. They have specialists for sports, pregnancy and kids, naturopathic care, acupuncture and more. Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll eat forever. Clearwater Clinic is the bomb and Dr. May is the go-to guy for aches, pains and structural issues; I'm a believer. A few years ago, I was having repeat pain issues in my upper back and shoulder - I am no wimp and this was killing me. I NEVER call the doctor unless I'm bleeding to death and twice I called the clinic almost in tears and they squeezed me in to see Dr. May the same day. He would work my shoulder until it gave in and I was able to reconvene normal living until the next episode. After several sessions, he recommended an MRI and I learned that I had a bone spur growing into my spinal column at my neck that was causing the muscle and nerve pain. I am so grateful to Dr. May for having tended to my discomfort and then guiding me to the cure for it. Recently, I saw a Groupon for the clinic and excitedly gave them a call. I had been thinking about having my son's posture checked and was planning on calling Dr. May so the timing was perfect. When I called the clinic I was informed that the Groupon was typically for another doctor but, since I was a patient of Dr. May's, they were happy to honor it. Again, a testament to the clinic's customer service. My son had a great exam - Dr. May is as awesome with young people as he is with old at explaining the way our bodies work - and also enjoyed his treatment. Dr Baisinger is a life saver! I just moved to Portland for pelvic care specifically and thank GAWD I got my hands on this clinic. I am an alum Track & Field collegiate athlete and I was in a very bad car accident last year with multiple hip fractures and a long road of recovery for the soft tissue around it. Over the last year, Ive owed all of my time to daily/weekly treatments with multiple doctors due to the accident with no hope of light at the end of the tunnel. Until clearwater clinic! After 2 months of seeing Dr 2x/week I am FINALLY able to jog/run again after being out-for-the-count for over a year. Amazing clinic, amazing staff and Dr. Baisinger provides the most thorough exam. He gives me enough information so that I know what's going on but not so much that I'm getting flashbacks from my 200 level bio classes. They have massage therapy, chiropractic and naturopathic care and I have been treated for a migrane, typical runner's ailments and as well as allergies - both seasonal and food. I am able to call and with pretty short notice they have always been able to get me in. Also, they are able to work with my insurance company (Aetna). I've paid out of pocket for a massage and it was the best possible investment of $70. Also, for my small business owner friends and clients, they have plans for affordable "small batch" health care for those who are unable to provide insurance. If you go to their website it's under microCARE. Kind of a new concept, but it's really been a benefit to the downtown small business owners whose employees can't afford health insurance. I think I tell almost every new client about them, it's that cool. AND? Great front desk staff. So friendly and helpful! I went to go see Dr. Jake May today and all I have to say is wow. I've never gone to a chiropractor before but I heard about Clearwater Clinic from Portland Fit and the Helvetia Half (they give runners free 5 minute massages). So when a groupon special came up for an assessment + 30 minute massage, I jumped on it. I arrived at 3:20, thinking my appointment was at 3:30...it was actually at 3pm but because I don't have any major pain, they were able to accommodate me with my full treatment (though they did also offer to split it up so I could come back for the massage--which was REALLY nice of them considering it was my mistake.) Dr. May was awesome. He is EXTREMELY personable and I liked him right off the bad. During the assessment he was very thorough and made me feel comfortable. Not only did he talk me through the "technical jargon" but he also explained it in layman terms. As someone who just started running, I was very appreciative of all of the insight he was able to offer and the tips and exercises he shared with me. Overall, fabulous experience. If I ever need to see a chiro again, I'll definitely be going back. Even if I don't, the massage was worth it--he was able to pinpoint where my muscles were tight or hurting and make them feel better than new. read more

I go to see Dr. Jake May, and he is an amazing body mechanic. I'm a very active athlete, and when I get injured, I go to see Jake. He is an investigator, who knows anatomy so well its spooky. Every time I've gone in with an injury (3 so far) he can isolate the tiny ligaments that are swollen or out of alignment, places on my body I would not have considered having anything to do with the injury. (Seriously? My ankle won't heal because of this thing in my hip? Wow!) He has gotten me back into working order ten times faster than if I stuck with massage, rest or acupuncture. I still feel the same about these guys! Yet, better! I have seen them repeatedly over the years for various issues. I started following the hcg diet about one year ago, and struggled with maintenance even with following all of the dietary specifics regarding re-introducing foods, etc... I lost quite a bit of weight and went in to see Dr. Baisinger and Dr. Nelson, again for other items. I mentioned that I was struggling with maintenance and that I had recently started exercising.. I FINALLY did the VO2 testing and purchased a heart monitor and found that I was exercising above the zone that I should have been. After giving it a good, solid month at my new "target" heart rate zone, I ended up stabilizing on the scale and feeling a WHOLE lot better about myself. Previously (when I was exercising at a higher rate), I would get a little sweaty on my forehead, but once I re-focused at a lower rate, I found that I would sweat a lot more on my midsection, etc... and I felt a warmth come over me about 10 minutes into the workouts. I feel that it has allowed me to focus on my fitness more, instead of just focusing on my weight. I just love this place! You will too :) read more

I started seeing Dr. Basinger two months ago for some chronic hip pain that was diagnosed as arthritis. I was told there was not much I could do, besides prepare for a hip surgery in the next decade. At barely 40 years old and in good shape, I was not ready to accept such a fate and decided to see Dr. Basinger on the recommendation of a good friend who had also had great success with him. He was very thorough in his diagnosis, and I started seeing him 2x/week for therapy. Dr. Basinger is one of the very few chiropractors in the area who is licensed to do what is called internal pelvic floor work, and this therapy was a game changer for me! When I began seeing him, I could not sit in a cross-legged manner at all. After two months of regular therapy, my hips no longer ache and I can sit in a full butterfly with my knees nearly reaching the floor! My husband was very skeptical at first, but he is the first one now to tell people how amazing my progress has been. I also apprecaite that Dr. Basinger knew when it was time to scale back treatment. After three weeks of seeing him 2x/week, he told me we were ready to go to 1x/week. Now, after 5 weeks of seeing him once a week, he told me we were ready to scale it back to once/month (but more if I felt it was needed). I trust that he is honestly looking out for my best interest, and not just looking at me as a predictable payment on the books, which I have felt from other chiropractors in the past. Can not say enough good things about clearwater clinic. I have been going to Dr. Lekas off and on for a couple of years. He was the only chiropractor that did a thorough enough exam to actually find out what was causing my problem and fixing it. After years of massages and chiropractors to get rid of painful muscle knots and spasms in my upper back, Dr. Lekas was able to see, just by looking at my pelvis, that one of my legs was ever soo slightly longer than the other. I went and got an xray and it was 1.5mm longer. He prescribed a small rubber lift for the inside of my short leg's shoe. i almost laughed when he told me that "this is going to be a big change, you will be back in less than a week". Sure enough, that little lift thoroughly threw my back and shoulders for a loop. After two more adjustments however, problem solved!! I can't believe that years of pain in discomfort could have been solved by putting a thin piece of rubber in my shoe. I'm a bit of an extreme sports guy and tend to beat up on my body pretty badly. I have been suffering with chronic hip pain and what I thought was Periformus syndrome for over 2 yrs. I went through PT for 2 months through my insurance and was told that because I am a woman and because I exercise regularly that I would just have to accept this burning and searing pain in my hips as "normal". I can remember a time being pain free and excercise being amazing but it had become miserable. I started going to an amazing masseuse named Sheila at Clearwater clinic and after a couple treatments she recommended Dr. Baisinger. I took up Sheila on her advice and after talking with Dr. Baisinger he wanted to try something called Pelvic flooring work. I had never heard of this and was having a hard time processing that my hip pain was actually chronic pelvic pain but honestly I was desperate and ready to try anything. Im 46 and going up and downstairs was literally agonizing and sitting and getting up from sitting was so painful and I felt like an 80 yr. Old. I am not exaggerating. After the first treatment I had some relief from the pain. Its been 6 treatments now and Im starting to go longer and longer without pain and exercise is becoming enjoyable again. Im seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Dr. Baisinger is incredibly smart, he knows the muscles and legiments and thinks outside the box. I also have had this mystery swollen toe and after months of visiting podiatrists and medical professionals and no answers I talked to Dr. Baisinger and within 5 min. He had an accurate diagnosis. He has also a wealth of knowledge with nutrition and has helped me so very much in my weight loss journey. I really cant get over how much better I feel after finding Dr. Baisinger. I recently saw Dr. Baisinger on a visit to Portland, and was very impressed. I've been to several skilled chiropractors over the years here in the San Francisco bay area, and his skills at least match or exceed most of the doctors I've seen here. First of all, the office is very professional, yet relaxing and has a calming atmosphere. Dr. Bryan adjusted me from head to toe, and was very reassuring in the quality of his touch - I'm a former massage therapist and appreciate when people have sensitive hands, which he does. I've been to a few doctors who were rougher with the adjustments but not Dr. Bryan, he was quick, accurate and the right amount of firm/gentle. After just one visit, my posture is naturally straighter. I also saw Mel for a one hour massage, and she was fabulous - I don't know how she managed to keep the right amount of pressure during the whole massage without me asking her to adjust it, but she did. I definitely will be back to see this awesome chiropractor and massage team every time I go back to Portland and highly recommend them! read more

I feel like they try to heal you as quickly and effectively as possible so you can get back to your normal physical activities quickly.
