Hot water aplenty in the 50c shower. Clubhouse has wifi and activities for kids and adult events, all rated G. Dogs ok. Christmas in July and Halloween on Labor Day are great children's days. Santa knows the location. John will always accommodate your needs and will try to make your stay easy. And when an error happens, he'll make it better than right. You can reserve ahead on busier weekends. Race weeks and Motorcycle week are lively. You need a place in the woods? Tent or vehicle? Need a cabin, a campfire? It's all there. Don't bring wood. John's got it covered. Location near Winni and Bristol. Plenty of restaurants, DD, Other necessary stores near. Call ahead. Tell them Tom sent you. They know their campers, and will give you space to enjoy your site.

I am 30…read moreyears old, typically camp with uncle and cousin and some other friends that are about 30 years old. We don't care about the pool or wifi, don't care about what kinds of programming for families they may have, or any of the other things camp grounds are pushing these days. We want a somewhat private site, we want to be able to keep our fire going as late as we want (as long as it is under control), and we want to be able to keep our music playing at a reasonable level. We have never been told to put out our fire during quiet hours, or to turn off our music. We can stay up all night having a great time by the fire and playing cards without being broken up, but everyone plays by the same rules meaning it is not a wild place and we have never encountered other sites being too loud for our enjoyment. If you're looking for some old fashioned camping - even in an RV - where you can enjoy being outside with good company all night, this is a great spot. The staff has always been pleasant as well and the rates are comparable to nearby grounds.

Clearwater has a lake, but the lots are more jammed packed and not as spacious. Clearwater seems to be more family friendly with a playground, lake, etc. Meredith is more laid back and quiet. Meredith also has an indoor pool and hot tub which is nice. The staff at both places were very friendly and both have a nice store. We drove over to Clearwater to spend the day on the beach/lake. We rented kayaks which were very decently priced ($6 single, $12 double for 2 hrs.). The water was very clear and the beach was pretty large. The only downside to our camp site was a fence beside us. It made it feel a bit less woodsy. I also felt they could clean up around the store and grounds a bit. It looks a bit rundown. Same with the docks at Clearwater. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again!

OK there are a few spots for groups and you could probably get an RV and trailer up there, but I have yet to see it. The campsites here all have the basics for tent camping: picnic table, fire pit/grill, peace and quiet. Most of the sites are spaced far apart so that you don't turn your head and make eye contact with a neighbor. Some of them are almost completely isolated, and a few have lean-tos (you're near the Appalachian Trail after all). The fire pits are kind of annoying though, they're basically three-sided iron boxes with sliding grates on top. You'll stay warm and can easily cook on them, but not everyone is going to have a great view of the fire. There is garbage on site, pit toilets, potable water, and lots of hiking nearby. In fact, the hiking is probably one of the biggest draws. You could get a spot here and then hike to one of the other campgrounds in the national forest (those are obviously hike-in only), or just spend a few hours in the forest. We saw lots of moose droppings, but no moose. Maybe your luck will be better than mine. The river is nearby and there are several parks and access points to get to it. I saw quite a few people fly fishing last time I was here. You've got to drive to Maine to get here, and then head about 5 miles along a dirt road to cross back into NH. Stock up in nearby Gorham and bring plenty of firewood. You'll want to stay at least two nights, and you'll definitely want to come back.

It's so close to weirs beach you can keep your car there and walk the short distance to the strip, then head back up the hill and chill out in the incredible swimming pool. Igor, the owner, checks in on you without being intrusive. He is always around if you need anything and is very accommodating. We stayed in Cabin#9. There were 5 of us. We stayed for 6 nights. You walk through a covered porch into an open concept living room/eat in kitchen. There are 2 full bathrooms side by side with walk in showers. Then you walk through each bathroom to get to a bedroom. Each bedroom had a queen bed. Each bathroom and bedroom were nearly identical. Each bedroom had an in-wall air conditioner. There were no air conditioners in the main living space, but we kept the bedroom and bathroom doors open and it kept the place cool. The kitchen is well-equipped with a full sized refrigerator and freezer, stove with oven, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and drip coffee maker. There was an extra leaf for the kitchen table, if needed, and additional folding chairs, if needed. There was a tv in both bedrooms and the living room. One of our kids slept on the couch, which opens to a bed, but she opted to not open it up. There were bath towels for 6 people. Igor offered to provide more if needed. There is no daily cleaning. The cottage came with 3 small bars of soap in each bathroom and some extra toilet paper. There was also dish soap and sponge in kitchen. Some things to consider bringing: toiletries, charcoal and lighter, hair dryer, iron and ironing board (if you are into ironing), pool towels, and board games and playing cards. These were not provided. Also, note there are no on-site guest laundry facilities. There is a laundromat in town, if needed. The outside pool was wonderful. It was between 85 and 87 degrees every day. There were also horseshoes and corn hole. There were tubes to float on by the pool. In the back of each cabin was a small Weber charcoal grill . Bring your own charcoal. There is also a fire pit with cooking grate. The Pemi river runs behind all of the cabins except Cabin#1. The river is too rocky to swim in behind the cabins, but there are other places you can swim in the Pemi, including Cascade Park in the center of North Woodstock, Otter Rocks and Lower Falls. The cabins are very close in walking distance to downtown North Woodstock and there are sidewalks to make it safe. There are wonderful restaurants and quaint shops there. The cabins are very close to the Kangamagus Scenic Byway, which has great pull offs for hiking and scenery, Franconia Notch State Park (less than 10 minutes drive), Lincoln and the Riverwalk by Loon (3 minute drive), White Mountains National Forest (less than 20 minutes). Loon Mountain (5 minutes drive) Cannon Mountain (10 minute drive) Bretton Woods (35-40 minute drive). Firewood was available for sale on site for $6, bags of ice were available for $3.

Not sure when that was but i was charged $205.60 this past Saturday night. That's a lot for this type of room. Two, that there's an average 4 star rating. Really? 2.5 - 3 is more realistic. It's dark and most definitely, "basic" at best. I was actually a little embarrassed to bring my travel partner into the room - since I was responsible for finding the hotel. The shower didn't drain so, by the time I was finished, I was standing in a couple inches of water. Convenient to town, yes. Clean enough, yes. Microwave and small fridge. Had I paid $100 for this room, I would have been okay with it. Premium price for a basic outdated room that really could use a remake and a new mattress? Not so much.
