If she suggests waiting 2 months, say no, I want the tests ASAP- if its a building allergy and you wait 2 months, its gonna be terrible the 5 days before the test - i cant sleep, work, go to the store, put on clothes - 2 months ago I could just use a dab of steroid cream and it stopped - id have to bathe in it now for 6 or 7 hours a day now. 03.30 Thought I wasn't going to need an allergist since…read moremoving to Florida. Completely wrong. Came in as a new patient, had prick test done on my back... OUCH!!! Only reacted to 3 allergens out of 40. Moved on to step two... NEEDLES!!! 40 little tuberculin devils. This time my deltoids were inflamed and on fire. 30 minutes of misery but way better than getting back scratched. Doc also ordered a breathing test which I failed 3x even after a nebulizer treatment. I'm officially asthmatic but happy it's only allergy induced. The visit was 2 hours long, painful but I'm so happy I had a very thorough test completed so Im aware of triggers to avoid. Still deciding whether to do drops or shots for treatment. But whatever it may be, I know I'm in good hands. Fantastic service, everyone was friendly and super helpful. Starting with making an appointment to receiving itemized invoice, stellar service is all I can say.

Jessica, the nurse took my blood pressure and some information. Dr. Denise Guevara did my exam. She was extremely thorough and took all my concerns seriously. I have had many cancer screenings before but Dr. Guevara was the very best. I definitely recommend MCR-Dermatology with Dr. Denise Guevara. She was extremely knowledgeable, did a thorough check and was very nice making me feel comfortable. Jessica, the nurse, was also excellent and very nice. Akin to visiting a 3rd world clinic where you are treated like an indigent nobody and left to wait…read moreridiculous amounts of time and still not see anyone. Not sure about the actual health care because after arriving 15 minutes early for my appointment, I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes until I could no longer wait. People were jammed in like sardines in the waiting room and also all along the wall outside the waiting room. Ridiculous in the age of Covid that this place overbooks to this degree and expects people to wait 45 minutes or more. There was one lady with expiring insurance who had already waited over 2 hours. I have no idea how much longer I was going to wait before seeing someone because in my mind 45 minutes was plenty long enough. After 45 minutes I asked that my co-pay be refunded to my card and I left. This is dermatolgy, not like it is an emergency room where something unexpected like a bus crash impacting an ER might be the cause of a long delay. Nope. This long delay was due simply to the greed evident when signing up way more people for appointments than they can reasonably accomodate. This is part of the MCR (Manatee Rural Health) network now and it shows. Same lack of caring, hard if not impossible to get someone on the phone or line up referrals or get a straight answer. I was also told that this appointment was only for a 'meet and greet' type visit with a doctor, not what I thought I was booking and just a blatant cash grab to get you to return so they can bill your insurance again and charge you a high co-pay. I was there to get a suspicious small growth removed. It doesn't take a 'meet 'n greet' to just go ahead and take care of the issue I am there for.

I came in for nail infection. A technician came in and trimmed my nails but not at my request. After waiting 40 minutes without the arrive of the doctor I left as I had an important appointment elsewhere to attend. I informed the front desk with disgust and explanation. Later, My Medicare Insurance was billed and a charge for nail trimming. I have refuted the charges. As a result of my complaint Medicare was reimbursed but my nail trimming was not. I am glad I was vigilant about the unethical billing. Overall the treatment/professional ethics and customer care was horrible for me. I would NOT ever return to Cortez Foot and Ankle and advise others to avoid as well! One star is a generous gift rating.
