Dr Lacerna and her nurses are great...I'm sure I called every other day with a question or two...lol...but each time without any complaints they got back with me in a timely manner via telephone or email. I was kind of scared at first but Dr Lacerna explained the whole procedure the good and the bad and was very knowledgeable of my procedure. I felt confident in knowing I chose the right doctor. Its only been 4 days and every one says how good and natural I look. I'm loving my results so far from the 360 lipo and BBL...Just waiting to get over the rough stage and show it off. Had to redo a neck lift that was only 2 years old. New surgeon said he would never do a neck lift without a facelift as it causes sagging in jowls and face, which it did, so between that and other non invasive procedures that did not work, basically threw away 15k..... new surgeon fixed all with full face/ neck/eye lift.be careful, ask questions.....Dr Lacerna is very nice but seems to be more focused on travel and celebrity .... read more

The staff is wonderful - not front of house but the two nurses I dealt with were brilliant. I was concerned about lines above lips and around my mouth and wanted laser. Dr Lucerne told me renuvion would be much more successful than laser, so I paid $5,000 to have this radio frequency and helium plasma procedure. They go under the skin and call it MINIMALLY INVASIVE! i Couldn't go out or see anyone for a month, then still looked strange. Recovery took about 3-4 MONTHS! They say: "requires downtime of about two weeks for maximal recovery". A year later I still have acne around mouth area/ haven't had since I was a teen! also I have weird striped pigmentation on forehead. I went back for these problems and was told to buy their overpriced products. I was prescribed anti bacterial cream by dermatologist/ which helps, but constant breakouts. I attach a pic of my forehead. Dr Lucerne told me to use abrasion wash - but dermatologist said it's permanent and suggested laser treatment. To be fair- most of lines above lips have gone/ so that part was really successful. Every time I go back with issues, I'm advised to buy one of their $80 plus products, for their mistake!!! I am of course really impressed with the Dr. Melinda Lacerna credentials initially; she is a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and general surgeon. I had 2 BBL with dr Lacerna. My 2nd one turned out terrible. My legs were gutted of all fat and my butt turned out so over projected on 2 sticks. I ended up with indentations all over my legs. I had beautiful legs before and just wanted a little more plump. This procedure made it to where I can't where shorts anymore and I've had to spend over 20 k in revisions and it isn't even over I'll have to get one more revision. On top of that my butt was so big that it started to appear saggy because of the fat placement on lower butt, and lipo of the butt can cause major problems. My last revision i had to gain weight for the dr to put fat back in my legs so I didn't look so weird. The fat placement in my butt that dr Lacerna did was not blended and over projected and placed at the bottom of the Butt verse the top. My 2 previous plastic surgeons said this is extremely hard to fix. I'm still dealing with these problems caused from one procedure and am permanently changed for the worse. Was not happy with the procedures, Botox and filler I asked for. I asked for a smooth forehead and filler and the forehead didn't seem to take so I went back and she added more Botox and charged me $300 more after I had already spent $1300. Botox still didn't take so I'm not sure what she's putting in my face. Obviously it's not going into the right muscles. Would not recommend her due to the fact she doesn't do what you ask for and then charges you extra. I had surgery here last March. I would only be doing a disservice to not say please be careful when you elect to have surgery. There are times when not everything goes as planned. I personally fall in to that category. I have really struggled with my experience. I had a breast reduction, with a brest lift and a small implant to give a full lift to my breast. This surgery right away felt very wrong on my right side. I could feel the implant very high and moving around inside my chest. It would lift with different movements I made and was painful. I am having it corrected by another doctor in town. But here is my experience. With La. Plastic Surgery. Dr.lacerna was nice before surgery. She when on and on what we could do to make me look perfect. Surgery day was fine I can't even remember being there. But after surgery when I told her that my right Breast was really high and hurt. Dr.lacerna told me to push it down and that it would drop. I pushed for months pushing down regularly, and I have pushed down so hard yet nothing has changed. After I had pushed on it for months, I joked with her that it rises when I get cold, tense up, when I am stressed and when I try to lift anything. I was still instructed to keep pushing down. Just keep in mind that it was not a comfortable thing to do. I was continually sore and constantly holding my chest down. It drove my family crazy because I started doing it not knowing I was holding my chest down in public. I became sad and depressed hiding my discomfort. My friends have all toke notice. I now wear clothes to try and hide the problem. But I live in Florida so the beach is where I go often. But this summer I went with friends and they all noticed right. They could not believe my disfigurement. I was so embarrassed that since then I have hid myself by just not going out to the beach, events and things I normally did quite often. I have had to grasp at straws to save for another surgery to repair what was done. For entire year that baby implant in my right Breast still hurt when it moves and that is often daily, it moves all the way to my collar bone and almost fully into my armpit. I have woken up with it in my armpit almost and I freaked out. . Dr.lacerna literally ignored me and made me feel it was my fault. She said I was probably sleeping on it. By the time that I guess she realized that something was really wrong and I was not make it up. My trust was broken. My surgery was in March of 2014 and in March of 2015. I and so happy to say that I finally saved enough to have it fixed. They are going to take out the implants and make sure that I have a correct lift. The new doctor did tell me that with my reduction with Dr. Lacerna did there could have been a few things to have made this happen. The pain and movement of the implant should have been corrected right after my initial surgery. I will say after 5 months of me fussing Dr.Lacerna did offer to have me come in so she could fix it. But it was way too late. I can't wait to be pain free and normal matching breast. I took for granted that I was made perfect to start with. I thought I was improving my image. I was happy but thought of I could just tweak a few things I will be prettier. Now I wish someone had told me what they say now. You looked so good before your surgery why did you do that? I literally have no answer. I went from a size 2 to a 10 in less than a year because of the pain I could not work out. Also I am sure the depression did not help either. read more

I did not select this surgeon for the procedure I consulted her about. However, she managed to run up $1650 in credit card charges doing other things that I did not ask for. One was doing a push biopsy on a spot I had already seen my dermatologist about, Dr. Naomi Johansen. My dermatologist had already told me it was benign. When I complained about the over-abundance of dysport and juvederm she shot into my face; she said "I had to use the whole syringe." I have never wanted or had that fat lip look, I have had minute drops of it for years; never before a problem. She told me she was going to return the $400 for the push biopsy. I'm still waiting it has been months. At this point I feel my only option is to make a complaint. Additionally, she somehow, probably a young techie in her office; gets rid of her bad reviews. This is my NEGATIVE REVIEW for Dr. Lacerna located in Sarasota, Floriday (1274 N Palm Ave, Sarasota, FL 34236). If I could leave NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD!!! I had gone to see Lacerna (I refuse to call this butcher a Medical Doctor) for a tummy tuck. This procedure was done in her office. During the procedure in her office I developed sepsis, along with a host of other complications including gang green, pneumonia, congestive heart failure, cognitive function, and was bed ridden for 18 MONTHS. I had to go back to her office to get vaccine treatments and my incision was not healing up. On my last visit I was discharged and there as an incision left wide open. I asked if she would put a wound vac on the open area and she refused because she said it would leave a scar. I immediately went to Tampa General Hospital and they did a skin graft from my leg to close the wound and USED A WOUND VAC!! After the skin graft I have been left with a terrible scar on my stomach. I had asked Lacerna what we were going to do about this horrible ordeal and her ONLY option was MORE SURGERY....like I would like this butcher touch me with a knife again! Dr. Lacerna is beyond awful. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone. This has been a lesson learned as you should not have to choose between saving money and saving your own life. Dr. Lacerna is the ONLY surgeon to trust with your body! This is my second procedure with Lacerna after a Tummy Tuck in 2014. I went in for a consult to discuss stubborn fat around my hips that was driving me crazy. No matter how much I watch what I eat and work out, my hips hold weight so I wanted to address this. We started to discuss Lipo and skin tightening so my result would be tighter, firmer, better. She explained the benefits of Vaser Ultrasound and a new procedure called JPlasty. I was interested immediately after seeing before & after images. it's like a facelift and body lift without downtime. I had to learn more. The addition of skin tightening was exactly what I was looking for because in my research on Lipo, it was common that people complained of skin sagging and lumps/bumps or uneven skin with Lipo. Dr. Lacerna discussed why she uses the skin tightening devices and how it improves the overall final result. I was excited. We discussed additional areas that could be improved including my back which is another area where I hold fat. It was funny that none of the other surgeons of the 3 consults mentioned this area to me and I was immediately impressed as "we're all aware of our personal problem areas". As I was walking out, I pulled my collar of my shirt down and said, well how much would it cost to do my neck/chest if you are tightening skin. I asked this mainly because I knew I was going to be in twilight sleep and I thought best to do this while I am down? She looked at my chest and agreed that was an area that needed improvement and she had a few options for me and we ultimately decided to use Co2 laser. Lacerna gave me a price I could not refuse and I scheduled the procedure immediately. What is the result? My body is amazing and my chest wrinkles are GONE! My body has been totally sculpted, it's tight and she gave me the best shape. My husband is ecstatic! I am very shocked at the difference in my chest and totally surprised of how simple the recovery was- 3-5 day recovery and there was NO pain. I applied aquaphor and the redness was gone in 4-5 days. The Lipo is more like 3-7 days of soreness but you can go back to work around day 2-3. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr. Lacerna is one of the best plastic surgeons and I can't speak highly enough of her! She can turn anyone's body around no matter the circumstance. Her bedside manner is wonderful and I can talk with her about any insecurity I have which is important to me. She listens and gives solutions and I know she is looking for my best interest. She is fair and reasonably priced and I have gotten a lot for my $$. Alot!!! She is one of the first to ever offer J Plasty Plasma which is an amazing procedure with shocking results improvements and outcomes which is why I know is part of why I look so good (that, Vaser and the Lipo). Please do your homework on Dr. Lacerna. She is initially very nice as is her staff. I had an upper and lower lid lift, neck tightening, and laser. Laser was good, neck acceptable, not great......then the eye nightmare began. Bottom line, additional surgery by an EYE SURGEON, soft palette skin grafts required, more $$$$ and months of downtime. It is an experience I will never forget. She is a terrible business woman...Your reputation is everything as is your health...choose wisely and get a second opinion. Dr lacerna is a nice women, but I believe she runs a business that focuses on quantity instead of quality. With that being said, I had a breast augmentation in November of 2014 and by December I could tell something was wrong, my left breast was bottoming out. I couldn't deal with it and elected to have revision surgery by her. She recommended going larger to get the look I desired and assured me she could fix the bottoming out issue. I had my revision surgery in August of 2015 and no later then 1 week after surgery my breast was bottoming out AGAIN and WORSE! They told me to wait and see how it drops, it's gotten worse over time. I've had consults with other doctors, that question why she would go back in through my nipple to repair that issue because you cannot get good visualization. So here I am about $8k in the hole and my breasts look terrible. I will be getting revision work, but from a skilled surgeon. Also, her office is very rude. Her or nurse made me and my husband feel extremely uncomfortable during my prep before surgery. So I recommended you spend the extra money and go to a better surgeon, you won't regret it! read more

I had lipo 360 total body transformation procedure done on my hips /flanks/ love handles with Slim Lipo by Dr. Lacerna and I look 2 sizes smaller already within 2 weeks of the procedure! This no downtime surgery has TOTALLY TRANSFORMED my body. I had fat around my hips that I could not loose with diet and exercise. I avoided wearing dresses and bikinis because I was self conscious. I decided to hit the gym seriously too see if it would go away naturally. After 7 months and 5 days at the gym, this fat would not budge. I own a company and can not afford a lot of downtime so I decided to do local instead of general anesthesia. Surgery was 7:30 a.m. I walked in and laid down. The surgery took 3 hours and was not painful!! To my surprise, the surgery was easy, comfortable and I loved loved loved that I was awake. During the surgery, Dr. Lacerna was so sweet and was constantly speaking to me, asking me questions and telling me the area she was working on. She would give me occasional boosts of confidence like, "Melissa we are working on this area and you are going to look so good in a bikini!" "Melissa can you feel this or how does this feel?" This helped me through the procedure bc I was so excited about the final result and the talking had a calming effect. At one point, the nurse patted my head and many times throughout she checked in on me and I really felt loved during the procedure. The staff was a team and all were working together and talking and I was included in the conversation so it was amazing. Once complete, I literally sat up, stood up and got off the table with help from a nurse. I surprised myself that I was able to get up and walk with ease. The nurse helped me get in a tight undergarment and she walked me to the car where my sister drove me home. The surgery was over and I was ready for recovery. Recovery- Once home I was expecting serious downtime, blood, but nothing! Dr. Lacerna meticulously reviewed post care instructions before I left and I was on a antibiotic.The first day I rested and went to bed at 6pm. To my complete surprise and astonishment the next day, I was called into work and I had to go in for an emergency (I own a company so no one else could help). I worked from 9am-3pm with ease. Mildly uncomfortable but was talking, conference call, working with others, walking, etc. I was worried about how my kids would see me post procedure and it was one of the big concerns of even getting the procedure done. However, my kids never noticed anything! I have been able to cook and care for my children after the procedure. They still do not even know that I had surgery. I am now two weeks out and still wearing my garment daily unless I wash it. I had my post op and I am so excited about my new body. I went yesterday to a lymphatic massage. I am so active and very on the go, so this NO Downtime Lipo procedure was the best fit for me. The lipo 360 gives a total body transformation from back to hip to flank to love handle.
