I went for a filling suddenly I need a root canal then when he started I felt nothing for pain. When you have a root canal normally you have pain then says I need more root canal. I have to pay $200 dollars next I hear, I said why your in net work how's this. It was Sunday I paid it call my insurance they said he's in network your coverage is 100%, not only that he put a paste filling all I been is liquid and next my muller broke what ever he did he created a large hole and cracked it so now my problem is worst. This dental practice is the worst place period for dental work , they charged my husband for 3 root canals he only went in for a fill in they lied and said he needed more work then the root canals that they did were flawed he needed to have two teeth extracted now he is missing two teeth becuaee of this place and he is only 32 he is now having to get two implants someday in the amount of 8k there oral surgeon Dr. Shalmi only cared about money did not care about fill ins only root canals so he can charge big bucks this place is a total scam beware of this place stay away at all costs its not worth it they will damage your teeth ! read more

I live 1hour and a half away. I was in pain waiting for an office near me to have an opening for emergency oral surgery. No one was calling. My boyfriend told me about this place but I told him I'm not driving all the way there and besides they only got a one star review. But I was in pain and so desperate and since he's been there before after waiting for 6 hours missing a whole day work, I decided to call. The lady was courteous and answered all my questions.I walked in at 4:15pm I had numb mouth at 5 and my immovable molar extracted by 6pm. Dr. Shalmi did excellent work very knowledgeable and very efficient. Excellent patient care and follow through with instructions. No pain no discomfort during exam and no pain or discomfort now. These are well seasoned staff who've been working with the doctor for a while and it shows in their efficiency and quality patient care. read more

I don't even know why, or how is this dentist office is still open. Worst dental office Ive ever been to. They insist on doing things that you don't need and if you tell them something about it they will get aggressive. All they care about is money, they are very disorganized they lost my scans and file. I was supposed to get a crown down, my crown didn't arrived on time and yet they would schedule me for an appointment and not notify me that my crown wasn't ready. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS ESTABLISHMENT! They actually deserve no stars. Dentist is VERY unprofessional. Dr. Shalmi did not want to engage with me verbally to discuss concerns that I felt more comfortable confiding in him about verses his assistant. I was only allowed to speak with the assistant who was unable to answer all of my questions without constantly leaving the room to confirm with Dr. Shalmi. During my first visit he yelled at one of his assistant's Maria, while beginning my procedure simply because I asked him to confirm with me that the filling I would be getting is composite and not metal. He proceeds to yell at her for not already addressing that with me prior to his arrival to begin the process. I felt so bad I did not have plans on going back after that until I had a slight emergency that led me to return. I chipped a tooth which then led me to find out that I needed a root canal on that specific tooth. NOW GET THIS, I expressed the sensitivity on that tooth yet Dr. Shalmi; while examining the tooth took one of his instruments and filed the chipped tooth that chipped it MORE causing me so much pain. Is that not common sense? Applying a filing instrument on a tooth that is already broken? While the patient is NOT under anesthesia, and even after being told by the patient about their sensitivity? After getting ready to walk out due to what Dr. Shalmi just did, his assistant begins to inform me that since my Medicaid insurance covers the root canal procedure that they are denying me service (knowing I'm in pain) to begin the root canal process because Dr. Shalmi will not be benefiting financially from me as his patient UNLESS I want to pay out of pocket and only then will he further the service, while continuing to be inconsistent with prices. The blonde short hair assistant with the heavy accent had no idea what she was talking about and clearly terrible at trying to be persuasive. PLACE IS A JOKE. DR. GABRIEL SHALMI IS A FRAUD. STOP- Do not go to Dr. Shalmi. He charges for services that you don't need. If you need a regular cleaning, then he will say you need a deep cleaning to charge more to the insurance. They lost my file and notes and were guessing which tooth needs attention. The computer showed the x rays but not the notes. Dr. Shalmi DDS is the worst. AVOID the clinic Riverdale Dental Care. No, no, and no. Don't do it. I went two years ago for a wisdom tooth extraction. Appointment was at 2:30. Got seen at 5. Not only that, the dentist injected me 9 times with a needle into my gums, and every time she went to drill and I cringed, she asked " you can still feel it?" With an attitude. Obviously!! The procedure was so nerve wracking and uncomfortable I started crying in the midst of it. And when she saw that I started to cry, she said "Next time you have to get put to sleep." Meanwhile, 2 weeks later I realized within the x ray that my wisdom tooth was lodged into my jaw bone and I NEEDED to be put under. Never ever, ever going back again. read more

Avoid this clinic - or esle you'll lose your money, waste your time, and most likely damage your teeth. That's what happened to my kid: Dr. Shalmi started treating a tooth the wrong way and inflicted some damage. We had to go to another clinic. The quality of the dental care is notoriously bad. Why? Because the clinic's policy is making easy money while caring little about patients. Dr. Shalmi treats a few patients at a time; so you'll be amazed how outrageously slow and low-quality the treatment is. More specifically, he rides on his chair between three patients treated by him simultaneously in three separate rooms. He could care less about the delay he causes. As a result, new patients can wait up to one hour before being invited in and then one hour before at last being treated. Who wants to waste two hours this way? Save your nerves and money! NO NO NO, Just DONT. First he drilled into a healthy tooth and put the filling in wrong so I was in constant excruciating pain for weeks. Then he insisted i was in pain because needed a root canal, which was not covered by my insurance. I got a second opinion who immediately saw that the filling was put in improperly and that the tooth didn't need the filling anyway, but the nerve was now exposed, so the 2nd dentist fixed the filling. Now today, 2 years later, I get a bill from my insurance claiming that i owe for my last cleaning because I had gone in for cleaning too many times. I called my current dentist asking what was going on (I certainly had not gone in for cleaning more than every six months, I hate going for cleanings!). Only to find that THIS horrible place had fraudulently billed me for a cleaning I had NEVER gone to. When I went into the office to dispute it (they keep their phones on busy so you can't call), they claimed it was a computer error and I had to sit there for 2 hours arguing with them before they would call my insurance company to fix the "error." Dr. Shalmi is an amazing and kind Dentist. He has done many procedures on my teeth and explains everything vividly before doing the procedure. Was recommended by friends and he has yet to let me down. The Hygienists do a great job with making sure my teeth are perfect before I head out the door. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Dr. Shalmi is a pro! He is quick and efficient, and really cares about his patients. I have been going to his office since it opened in the late 1990's and haven't considered switching once. It's nice to know that he will always look out for my best interest and listen to my concerns. It is a very vulnerable process, usually and I have felt safe and taken care of at all times.
