In late 2025 I moved from SE Portland to Canby, and I was really sad to lose the close access to my Rivermark branch on Belmont, as I had long considered them a standout in the banking world. Probably an anomaly. But nope! I found the Happy Valley branch ( much closer to my new home) to be every bit as friendly, helpful, bend-over-backwards as the Belmont one. ​This must be a Rivermark trait, to hire people who smile and are competent and efficient. I initially opened accounts at a Canby-based credit union, but they treated me as an annoyance and no one ever smiled. If all you ever need is a kiosk and can do all your banking online, this probably isn't a big deal, but if you need to conduct business that involves face-to-face transactions such as power of attorney or notarization of documents, Rivermark is the gold standard of banks. read more

The service is terrible. Advantis was a good company. The buyout did not serve it's customers. On hold for an hour. A person at a call center took all my personal information and then told me they could not help me. I would have to be transferred to someone who could. Since the merger with Atlantis, awful. No one knows what they are doing. LONG waits on hold every time, they transfer you all around, i was on the phone recently for one hour and never got the answer to my question answered. Hate it. My first time visit at Happy Valley location was great but they are in a need of more locations s specially in SE Vancouver Wa. I have a long drive to their closest location is in Portland or Happy Valley to do business. I wish they would open more location. read more

It's an absolute waste of time to come here. Nobody will help you in the lobby and the "live" tellers are glorified ATMs if you can even get one to help you instead of sending you a message over and over again that "all tellers are busy". I had to use their ATM outside (which only takes 30 bills at a time and constantly spits them out because they can't read them) to deposit a lot of cash which completely defeated the purpose of coming to a branch. read more

I am so disappointed with unprofessional customer service in this branch. Went multiple times to the branch and people they don't know what they doing, manager is very rude and unhelpful. Called to main # 626, left multiple messages to loan department, nobody responding. My main concern that bank overcharging loan interest on heloc accounts, and stealing peoples money. read more

We opened a checking account 5 months ago. We were told that all new accounts have a $300 debit card limit but only for 90 days. Imagine my surprise when I called after four months and told that my credit score would need to improve in order to increase the limit. We are talking about MY money here and I even have my account set to not allow overdrafts. I drove all the way to Happy Valley to use the virtual teller so that my family and I could go to dinner on my birthday and they were all "temporarily unavailable". I called customer service and was treated like dirt for wanting nothing more than access to my own money. Between the two of us, my husband and I deposit about 5K a month but I guess that's not good enough. Makes me wonder if this bank is having financial problems. I have been with Rivermark for 15 years. Due to higher interest rates on loans, I bank elsewhere for loan related banking. Last Friday, my husband and I had an appointment with our "loan" account bank. We cancelled it due to receiving a Rivermark flyer advertising rates lower than prime (4.21%) and maxing at 7.01%. We went the the Rivermark branch advertising the rates. They called financing, who called marketing. "Nope that must be a mistake". We went to leave when we saw the same flyer on their door. We were then told "we will honor it". And "Ms. Sandoval (financing rep.) Will call you". No call. We went back in on Sat. (As we are trying to purchase am RV.) We were then told Ms. Sandoval's notes claimed she called. Nope. When I started saying we could compromise on the rate so it's not lower than prime, "we are good to go at 4.21%". As LOC can take a few weeks, we agreed to apply fpr an RV loan then we could pay it off with the LOC. "It will only take a couple hours". To shorten the rest of this week long chaos... We have been strung along, misled, talked down to, told we didn't have to come in again, now we do,ignored, and when speaking with the finance manager, James Wyse, I felt like I was being talked at by a debt collector and someone who considered me a valued customer. Because we didnt qualify for "the lowest rate, instead the second lowest, they found a loop hole, went back on their word, lied about calling us (I even did a print out through Verizon to see if I missed something). Almost a week later, we are still not financed. The man we are buying from is running impatient and told us tonight, "I have sold dozens of trailers and there is too many hoops for this". So I canceled my appointment with my normal loan bank for a interest rate matrix that never existed and now have to do this whole process with them again to get the rate I knew I would get last Friday. Rivermark advertised 4.21-7.01% but were actually at 4.99-10.74%. Then offered us 5.49% (becaue my husband's credit was one category below minimum on their matrix). My loan bank is .5% less. Rivermark offered us 6.49% on the RV loan. My loan bank offered us 4.99%, with less fees on both. .5-1.5% is a big difference. After 15 years, several accounts, our last RV, and various credit, I will be closing our accounts. read more

Favorite place to bank with. Left my previous financial institution after getting poorly treated as a customer with them for almost 15 years. Rivermark is the best! Helped me with a credit card and car loan. Happy with the interest rate on both. Not to mention how easy it is to have my debit card replaced after losing it. read more

I originally wanted to find a replacement for my Chase checking account. I saw they were offering $100 if several things were done in the allotted time. Seemed like a nice incentive. I put in way more than I had to and made the purchases that were required. Signed up for paperless banking and I should have received my $100, but I didn't. I contacted them through email and pointed out this discrepancy. I got a return email saying my inquiry was passed along to the incentive people and my case was closed. One small problem. No one ever contacted me and no $100 ever showed up in my account. In legal terms this is called fraudulent inducement. In regular terms it is called really bad customer service. Fortunately Key Bank offered me $400 to open an account. I did, and after 30 days they deposited $400 in my account. That is called good customer service. And they will be getting more of my money in the future. read more

Another bad idea. Step inside and it looks like a car dealership, not a credit union. When I go to do my banking I want to deal with a teller, not a kiosk. This new age concept saves the organization from hiring employees as it essentially forces the customer to bank online or using an ATM (kiosk). I'm all for credit unions but this is ridiculous. read more
