Easy check-in, fair pricing ($50 twilight rate for 18 with a cart), a beautiful layout, a moderately challenging course, nicely maintained fairways, and excellent greens -- you really can't beat this public/park district gem. Yes, the wait could have been a little painful, but with the weather this gorgeous, I honestly couldn't complain. Sometimes you just have to enjoy the day and take in the views! Definitely coming back. This one is worth the drive!

The last time I played here it was cartpath only, why do you ask? Because they didn't fix the drainage problem. That's right, they spent millions of dollars and there is still water sitting on the fairways, ridiculous. Also why didn't they fix the cart paths out on the course? Some of them are so bad you have to drive on the grass. Again, why? Possibly the worse part about this whole mess is they don't tell you it's cartpath only until they take your money to play golf and a cart. What are you supposed to do? Go get your money back, load your clubs back in you're car and say good bye to your foresome? I hate that sh*t! The good part is is that they did a really nice job on the clubhouse, the dining room is much improved and they now actually have a small pro shop. The outdoor Patio is very nice and the grounds around the clubhouse armuch improved.

No cart girl and the turn doesn't get you very close for a snack. The closest you get is on 7/8. Some frustrating moments of hitting a fine shot and just having a ball disappear. I'd give the course itself 4 stars for play and value. But the staff in the pro shop is absolutely top notch and get 6 stars. They have been extremely helpful and easy to work with a number of issues that I've had - always pleasant, always working to make your life easy on the course and always striving to (and achieving) give the guest the best possible golf experience. Also, if you are a bird watcher and lover, you cannot top the several hawks that live on the third and fourth holes, and which can be seen elsewhere throughout the course. This review is strictly of the golf course only…read more I have not golfed in about ten years and back then I was a pretty good golfer but this review is not about me. My daughters recently wanted to learn golf and after a few visits to the Golf Learning Center in Highland Park I felt it was time to bring my nine year old daughter out for a round of golf. The started was very friendly and accommodating, I knew it would be slow round and mentioned it to him upfront and he responded that it's important that the kids are outside and enjoying the game. If this review was on him it would be five stars. The rest of the staff there was just as friendly and happy to see kids. By the way, later in the day is the way to go with kids! The course is well maintained and is absolutely beautiful. I will say it is not a forgiving course and has some tight fairways and challenges. All in all we enjoyed our round of golf and all aspects from staff to course. Since then I would say we are becoming regulars there. If your a scratch golfer you'll enjoy going out earlier but new golfers will find it a bit more relaxing after noon.

After the touring the place we then started working with Izzy and Kelly with any questions and planning. They were both great to work with!
