Just a few observations on very basic things... Turf care is marginal at best, weeds are common and cut limbs and brush are scattered across the entire course. The pro shop is a small room that has the feel of a funeral home. The majority of holes don't have ball washers. Pins are not plumb. Traps are sloppy... One or two of these things might not get your attention but add them together and you get a mediocre golf experience. Brae Loch could be a much better (and profitable) course with a little effort. The Forest Preserve is definitely mismanaging this asset.

Upon arrival, I was surprised to not have known that someone else would be caring for us on the day of the event. I'm wondering if this shift caused things to be lost in communication, as we didn't have things such as the P.A. System and microphone set up, A-frame stands for our welcome sign, or a welcome table. We pivoted and worked through it. Our bartender was so grumpy and passive aggressive. But there was nothing to do about that in the moment either so we tried to kill her with kindness and shake it off. Overall, it ended up being a beautiful shower, the food was excellent, and we were able to persevere through the few hiccups we had.

The course is unkept, dead cut grass in the rough everywhere, you will need a seat belt in the carts if you ride on the paths. The greens and fairways were not bad but not like they were years ago. One of our carts lost the GPS, the group in front of us had (2) carts go dead on the course...just crazy. I almost felt bad for the course crying for someone to better care for it. Prices are still high. Many of the homes and back yards around the course are unkept... really bad, really ugly like the homeowner doesn't have money or doesn't care. You would think that the HOA would take care of this. I hope someone can help turn this course around sooner before they lose it...

But please don't take advice from a 40 handicap that demands pristine greens because they paid $70.
