River's Edge Motel is a very lovely well kept, clean and very quiet motel; very friendly as well!

I would give zero stars. well its a motel. but there are holes in the bed linens and blanets. a hole in the blinds. the rooms are not kept with AC on at all with a window unit in the middle of the summer it was so hot. we did not end up spending the night here. thank god! rooms are way overpriced as well. we were desperate for 1 night. and ended up leaving. I left with bites on me. Bed bugs?! I dont know for sure. but I had bites on my legs! It was a horrible experience. I do think the owners were very nice and helpful. but this place is scary and gross I would not reccomend at all. read more

This was the only place to stop in the area. I think the reviews are for someplace else. Dated in this case was OLD. Room had a layer of dust. Bathroom had a rusty heater and towel holder. AC didn't work well. Linens had blood. Train wasn't the noise problem it was people up all night. Door had one lock that barely worked and no safety lock. It's on the River, but room did not have a view. I will say the people running it were nice. read more

Being in the hotel industry with major franchises it was a pleasant surprise to run across the Rivers Edge motel in Louisiana Missouri. My son was having some car troubles and he stopped at the closest town and was lucky enough to go into the Rivers Edge. The evening desk agent was pleasant and accommodating and put him at ease. The motel was clean, everything worked and they have the same amenities that all of our other hotels have. Also, it wasn't $250 a night. After being in this industry for several years it was very pleasing to see an independent operator do so well. I had to drive to meet there and I spent the night in the hotel after sending him on the way. The bed was comfortable the water was hot the TV worked and everything else was just what we needed. read more

Very friendly small hotel at the rivers edge. Get up early to catch the sunrise and before the traffic begins. Coffee in the room, but there's also coffee across the street at the gas station. (Bigger cups) Price is right. Not a luxury hotel, but the view of the Mississippi is priceless. read more

My stay there was in September, 2020. We found this motel by accident, getting a little lost in the area. It was a great find. The owner, Sanjev, and his wife were so nice, friendly, and accommodating. They treated us like we were family. They are wonderful people. It was a little after dinner time and they gave us a summary of the places where we could get some food. Eating choices in Louisiana, MO are very limited. We stayed in the part of the motel located on a hill behind the main part of the motel. The views of the Mississippi and the bridge were spectacular. The room was large. Beds were comfortable. Everything was clean. The price for the room was very, very reasonable, way less pricey than a chain motel would charge. I highly recommend the Rivers Edge Motel. The motel, the view, the owners, the room rate are all spectacular. read more

The motel is your typical one in a really small town. We did stay in the upper building. The rooms were satisfactory and for the most part clean. Even though I could tell my bed all ready been slept in before by the sheets. I was a little upset because the owner says he has a good room near the river view and by the way I charged you $10 extra bucks. ha ha read more

Enjoyed our stay until my son went in to take his bedtime shower and it didn't work. It does sit along the river and railroad tracks and the train came thru many times blowing the whistle which didn't bother us. The Rivers Edge reminded me of a small town I grew up in. It is an older motel, it could've been a bit warmer and smelled a bit less but given the season, location and age of the motel that's to be expected. I will take up the shower issue not working in the am before we checkout and give them the chance to fix the problem. Tracey F. read more

My family and I went on a boat trip down the Mississippi River and we pulled into the Marina across the river, and one of the employees recommended Rivers Edge and said the motel operators will even come pick us up! We already knew this of course after calling and talking to Kantu (one of the motel managers) who had said "yes" they allow well-behaved dogs and they could even come pick us up from the Marina! Two things we loved hearing on our trip! Kantu gave us a great room, recommended the Mexican restaurant down the street (which was great), and said if we had too many margaritas not to hesitate to call for a ride home. The managers of Rivers Edge genuinely care about their guests and they are the definition of hospitality, there needs to be more people like them in the world! Thanks for making our 1 night stay in Louisiana a great one! read more

Love this place! My husband and I spent a weekend there recently and brought along our two dogs. They are very pet-friendly and do not charge extra for dogs, which is very important to me. The manager is super nice, and the rooms were spot-less and had free wi-fi, a small refrigerator and a coffee maker. We also had an amazing view of the Mississippi River out of our window! I was a little worried because when I reserved the room he asked if I wanted smoking or non-smoking, and I am not a fan of cigarettes. When I got there and talked to him he told me there were only four smoking rooms, and our room and towels did not smell of smoke at all. A great place to stay and Louisiana is a great little town to spend a weekend! read more

This Motel is wonderful! I don't believe I have any other options when I'm staying in Louisiana, MO, except for staying at my grandparents house, so when I stay at this motel, it is wonderful! The manager is really friendly, and his upkeep odf the motel is wonderful. There are flatscreen tvs, the bedding is really nice, and the view of the Mississippi River is stunning-- I usually request to be in a room with a river view. I also liked how the manager took the time to explain to me how to turn on the shower faucet-- because honestly, I could not turn on the shower! and then I remembered his demonstration, and I didn't have to go showerless that evening! Thank you! It was the best $60 I've spent on a place to stay in a long time :) read more

This is a great place to stay. The staff is very friendly, and the service is excellent. The motel offers a great view of the Mississippi River, and a nice atmosphere from teh surrounding area. This is an independent motel (not part of a chain) and does not offer certain amenities such as a pool or workout room, but offers a peaceful and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended! read more

Kantu (sp) knows how to do it right. He goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and even goes the extra mile. The motel is bicycle friendly and I very much appreciate that. The price is very good. And you are on the Mississippi River. Would make it a pint to come back here again. Oh, and after over 50 miles on a bicycle fighting a coll headwind, the shower was perfect and brought me back to life. read more

I had a lovely stay around the first of September. The location and view was amazing on a bluff overlooking the river and bridge across to Illinois. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, so I was cozy! I definitely recommend a stay. In early September, I was on my drive from California to Michigan after evacuating my apartment due to the CA wildfires. I had been driving all day with little food stops, trying to make it to the Mississippi River by sunset. Upon decision to stop and check in, the owners were extremely friendly and thoughtful, putting me in a room where I could enjoy the sunrise over the river and even offered me dinner since I had been driving and had not had a chance to get food yet. I had planned to get up early and continue my drive but with the local beauty, friendly residents, and interesting town, I took my time checking out the sights and parks before I left. I cannot say enough positive things about the River's Edge Motel. My daughter, baby granddaughter & I spent two days and nights in adjoining rooms #42 & #43, and we had a wonderful stay while there. The rooms were immaculately clean, and had a very nice size flat screen tv, a small sofa, a desk & chair, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee pot, a hair dryer, and plenty of room for us even with all of the baby paraphernalia that we had with us. The view of the Champ Clark Bridge from our balcony was so beautiful and we spent several hours in the evening sitting on the balcony, relaxing, and enjoying the view. The owners were both so kind and nice to us and were very responsive to anything that we might need. They came in on our second day there and cleaned the rooms spotlessly even though we did not expect that. The room rates were very reasonable. We have several family members who are buried in Riverview Cemetery, and Jordan Buffalo Cemetery, and we like to visit at least once a year to pay our respects and put flowers on the graves. This is our first year to spend a couple of days/nights while visiting and we are so glad that we did so. The River's Edge Motel could not have been a nicer place to call home while we were there. Our truck broke down just outside of this little town. Had to find somewhere to stay as it was a Sunday and no one could work on the truck until Monday. We got a corner room (#30) and it was super, super, clean. Had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and an iron and ironing board. The beds were firm but the pillows were a little on the flat side. You might want to bring your own. The owners were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. They offered us rides to go out to eat and to pick our truck up. You have a great view of the Mississippi from this particular room and it was enjoyable watching all the birds (including eagles) fly around. I would definitely stay here anytime! read more

I"ve stayed at resort hotels in Nevada, and they don't compare at all. The atmosphere is wonderful and the owner is great. We arrived in town early, and were able to get our rooms an hour before check-in. The place is spotless and the beds and pillows are comfortable. The view of the river is gorgeous, as well as seeing Illinois across it. I would definitely recommend staying here. read more
