This was a nice stop in Medicine Park. We didn't end up eating food there, just ordered some drinks. The service was good... not great... the atmosphere is what we really loved. They had a nice patio with shady areas and a view of the stream running through the town. I loved that they had some live music on a Saturday afternoon... nice touch. All in all I'm sure there are better places if you are going to be eating and want a nice indoor atmosphere, but this was a good patio to stop and rest your feet from a day of shopping. Upon entry you wait to be seated and once the waitress counts your party you are seated. Being that there were festivities going on for Independence Day I expected a delay for a party of 4 kids and three adults. Seeing as we sit inside with one other party of three and three waitresses I figured the wait wouldn't be as bad. I'm not 100% as to why there was a 40 minute on three cheeseburgers with fries that ranged from medium cooked to overcooked and grilled cheese for the kids that one of them were completely forgot about. I have dined in here before and found the food to be very good as in quality over quantity but in the two years it seems to be turning. As we waited for our food the restaurant really begin to get packed due to hungry patrons and those seeking to get out of the heat. I had to find my waitress for the check needless to say but will take in to account the capacity of the indoor and outdoor dining. I would try this place again and hopefully the food returns to good quality. read more

i got the black bean burger and it was AMAZINGGG! the fries were the best and we got the funnel cake thing to go and it was delicious as well! only giving the 4 stars cause when we first got seated no one came to get us started for probably 15 minutes. they weren't busy and two waitresses walked by our table a dozen times. so that was awkward but we went back to the front to tell a lady at the desk and she felt terrible and served us amazing and got our food out fast! idk if that's a common thing or we just got a random bad experience. either way we will be going back! read more

I've been going here for about 12 years or so. The food was better back in the day before the Old Plantation reopened. Now they've become more bland and the steaks seem to be different every time we come here. But it's a great location and the staff is usually friendly so.. Like an old tradition I still come here. Last time I was here it wasn't that busy and got terrible service. Had to come inside from the patio for water refills, napkins, sauces, etc. The other server on the patio went to every table except for ours. I totally get it, it's not your table but staff should always be observant for issues with other guests. PS be very absurdly clear about your order. Last time I asked for no rice with my plate and the server still gave me rice and said "..Well it comes with it anyway." Yeah okay. read more

You know, I've been coming here for over 15 years and it's always just OK. Today I came with my girls, and the stoner/greeter said he'd get us a table. 10 minutes later we were still waiting & a gal at the register asks if we've been helped. I reply that stoner/greeter guy (who was standing next to her) was supposed to have us a table. We get the table, place our order, get our over salted burgers & have to ask for silverware & napkins. Although the prices are very expensive(11 dollars for 2 catfish filets and sides) but the atmosphere is something that is worth paying extra for, especially on a warm, sunny day. Stopped in for lunch after spending the morning hiking at the wildlife preserve. My daughter had the chicken fried steak sandwich, which she said was very good and I had the fish and chips. The french fries where the best part of my meal. The fish portions where kind of small and where overcooked. It was a pretty day and we sat on the outside deck, the main reason we picked the place. It has a nice view of the river unfortunately "Joe" was singing. I liked his play selection, he could carry a tune, but he was so loud we couldn't talk at the table. Medicine Park doesn't have a lot of choices so I guess I might go back and order something else but not if they have Joe singing. read more

I was in Lawton a few weeks ago for a friend's graduation and I heard about this great place in Medicine Park. We came here for a late lunch and it awesome! The southwestern egg rolls were delicious! The bacon cheeseburger was huge, and the bacon was super crispy, just the way it should be. Everyone was so friendly it was kind of a shock. The staff was on point with refills and I never had to ask for a thing. I really wish I lived closer, or they had one near me. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town! The last two times my family and I have ate here have been awful. This used to be such an excellent place to eat. The amazing atmosphere remains, but the service and food quality is terrible which saddens me. Two months ago when we ate here my son's catfish was not cooked enough. When notifying the waitress her reply was "yeah that happens all the time". I noticed while we where there two other tables sent their orders back as well. The waitress did try to make it right as best she could replacing his meal with a discount. We when ate there this past Sunday my son's chicken fried steak was so salty it was inedible. When we notified the waitress she stated "We had this problem earlier, but we thought we had it fixed. Do you want a burger?" He agreed, getting his food when everyone else at the table was done eating their meal. The waitress brought our appetizer out with our food order and never offered to refill our drinks without being asked to do so. We were changed for the replacement burger which I feel should have been on the house relating to the issue with the meal he originally ordered and the time spent waiting on it to be replaced. read more

Honestly this place isn't even worth a star. Me and some friends came in after a long hike at the mountains. We were all tired and wanted drinks. we stood at the door for 20 minutes before we got seated. We sat down and the people who were seated after us got their drinks and food before we even got our orders taken. We finally asked the waitress if we could be served and she said yes and came back about 10 minutes later. She was rude and snobby the entire time. I came in here with a group of three girls on Friday. We were in town with the wedding party, and we were also with THE BRIDE, so how we got treated was ridiculous. We walk in and they say there is a wait. That's okay! (The restaurant was not even close to being half full) We ask if we can sit outside at one of the empty tables, they reiterated that there was a wait. Again, that's okay! I tell the hostess we have a wedding here this weekend (70+ people in the area) and if we can just get some drinks that would be awesome. We sit outside. Five minutes. The waitresses keep walking by. No greeting. Ten minutes. No greeting. No drink orders. Fifteen minutes. No greeting. The girls start cleaning all the empty tables around us. One of the girls in our party walks up and asks for a menu (We hadn't even received menus at this point either) The girl at the front looks at her, and in a condescending way, crosses her arms and says, "We are on a wait!" "Okay, but is there a wait for menus?" She grabs the Togo menu, not even the actual restaurant menu from the giant pile next to her, and hands it to the girl that is a part of my party. She walks back outside. After thirty five minutes of waiting, rude employees, and complete and utter horror about how my sisters wedding weekend began, we finally decided to leave without a single drink order taken. There was no wait. The people who were sitting at other tables were closed out, and had been closed out for a while. We were not from the area, and I have never felt such discrimination. You could of had SO MUCH BUSINESS, but all those 70 people we told them NOT to come to your establishment. The treatment was horrible. Discrimination. Cold shoulders. We told the manager what happened. He didn't apologize. He had nothing to say about it. He was just as rude. This is how my sisters wedding weekend began. YOU KNEW. Horrible. Horrible. As we sat down to order the waitress came out and took our drink and appetizer order. Then we waited around 10-15 minutes for that appetizer to come out. Our waitress still did not come check on us during this time and another gentleman asked how long we had been waiting for our food. It was amazing how fast it came out after he asked. As we sit and enjoy our appetizer we begin to realize an ample amount of time has passed and no waitress, no refills, no food. Until I say something to another waitress that was serving food to people that showed up 10 minutes after us. Once our food showed up they happened to completely forget about the kids food in this process. Which eventually made its way out to the table 5-7 minutes later. The service in this place is terrible. I have been able to write this full review after finishing my food and the waitress still has not come by to give us our check to pay. Family of four came for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Not very busy, we were told to seat ourselves. Soon after we sat down the customers seated beside us and behind us left without being served-bad sign. We sat for a further 10 minutes before getting menus. The wait staff was extremely unprofessional talking about the customers that had left. My wife and I ordered the steak because it was really the only dinner worthy item on the menu, and we were quickly told "we're out of that". So we ordered a buffalo burger, and when mine came it still had paper wrapping cooked into the patty. Our drinks were never refilled, and the waitress stood over us as we paid the bill, that we had to beg for. Bad food, bad service-these people have no clue how to run a business. Don't waste your time and money, or risk your health here. The only viable restaurant in Medicine Park is The Plantation Restaurant. Unfortunate. read more

This place has the potential to be a pretty great little hang out. The food could be better, but it wasn't bad. The service on the other hand was absolutely horrible. We ordered an appetizer and three meals. Twenty minutes later one of the meals arrived. Ten minutes after that a second meal arrived but was not what was ordered. Ten minutes later that meal was brought correctly. We then had to remind them about the third order and the appetizer which we already planned on removing from our ticket. The third meal came about five minutes later. The really sad part is they weren't that busy. Even when we went to pay we were met with incompetence. I was hoping to be able to write a good review when we got there. The outdoor eating area was pretty cool except for the furniture. We had to swap out two chairs with an empty table because they were broken. I would give it a one star but like I said the food was ok. Won't be going there again though. read more

The food is always phenomenal, but the service has gone way downhill. When we got there around 3pm, we were told there was a 30-45 min wait, and we could clearly see empty, available tables. We got our name added to the list anyway because my mom wanted to eat there for her birthday. We ordered 2 alcoholic beverages while we waited, and they were out of the ones on display. They gave us a different one, but they shouldn't display beverages that they are out of. We only waited about 15 minutes, and the male host seated us. There was only one table occupied, so we continued to be confused as to why there was such a long "wait time." The male host tried to tell some "jokes", but he was extremely sarcastic and rude. His demeanor to his fellow coworkers was the same. He was very lazy. He took our drink order, and when he came back my mom told him an appetizer we wanted to start with, and he walked off saying, "That's your server's job." Our waitress was friendly, and so was the female brunette working the front counter, but they all seemed very frustrated. It seems that they need to hire more employees so there isn't as much stress within the staff. read more

I was at the Riverside Cafe on 3/18/17 and there is one word that comes immediately to mind, and that word is disgusting. The place was filthy. Starting with the table we were sat at and then the rest room. Gag me. After waiting 45 minutes to an hour to be sat, it took an additional 30-40 minutes to get our food and we ordered as soon as the server came to the table. Now I understand they were busy and I had no problem with waiting, what I had a problem with was the cold food and congealed tartar sauce we were served. The server had assured us previously that it was not her fault the food was taking so long, and when it finally got to us, the roll my fried catfish was served on had a sheen of grease on top. I understand they grill the rolls, but they should only brush the inside of the roll with grease to put on the grill, not the entire thing. The catfish and fries were barely warm, and the congealed tartar sauce had bits of shredded cheese stuck to it. Yuck. Also, identical meals served in different size baskets, which the server made a point of pointing out, don't really know why. Can you say sat under the warming light FOREVER??? I felt like vomiting. I barely touched the food, paid my bill and left. Never again. read more

5:30 pm today. 6 friends and I stopped off in Medicine Park on the way to the Easter Pageant at the Holy City. Medicine Park/Riverside Cafe has always been a great place to stop. Today was horrid! We stood at the patio doors for 10 minutes waiting to be seated on the patio. No one ever acknowledged us. We took two tables and moved them together for our party and sat and waited patiently for service. 20 minutes later a young lady came out and asked if we had come inside and waited to be seated. No signs indicated that we could not seat ourselves on the patio. Loads of people there today. A Bike poker run ended in Medicine Park. There were still places to sit on the patio and from looking inside, there was no waiting list to be seated at a table inside. The young lady after rudely telling us that we should have....no she stated, "You HAVE to come in to be seated anywhere in this place!" informed us that the tables are not allowed to be pushed together. When we asked if we could get menus, she rudely turned and walked away and said, " You have to come inside and wait to be seated." Never a please, I'm sorry this is our policy, no sign...and from across the patio, she LOUDLY chastised a man for having a Sonic drink cup at his table. He informed her that he had the cup with him an hour ago when they came in and even during the meal he and his party purchased for 7 people at their two pushed together tables. In that brief 5 minute encounter, 15 people got up and walked out. I am so disappointed in how we were treated. Will we go back to Riverside Cafe....No! The Plantation Inn Cafe was much nicer.
