We didn't order much but sides here because we only wanted a small snack to share amongst ourselves. I ordered the frog legs which were such a disappointment since my friend had never eaten any before. They came out hot yet lacked flavor. An order comes with about 8 legs. I need some spice and Cajun seasoning to it but it had absolutely no flavor yet was tender. I'm wondering if they caught the frogs in the river next to us? Should have asked huh? But our waitress was new to the area and didn't know much of anything. She was nice though. We got corn on the Cobb too which was good. The bowl it was served in was pretty hot and the Cobb stood up in its butter. Probably microwaved. We seasoned it at the table with salt and pepper. We also had country potatoes that lacked flavor as well and our waitress forgot to put the order of onion strings (not rings) in. The establishment itself was nice. They were about to turn away a party of 15 because a 5 year old girl had on a tank top swim suit that "needed to be covered"... it was a tank top- not bikini. The food was delicious. We ate on the deck next to the water with the pup. They brought him some water. The catfish and fried okra were delicious. I think the tarter sauce is homemade and delicious. My husband got the nachos. There was a very generous portion and we said they were the best he had eaten in a while. read more

The food was great, loved the cheese fries! However the staff members were not wearing masks properly, with some being below the nose, and some of the clear masks were not fully covering mouths. On top of this, one specific staff member that was not wearing a mask correctly was coughing and hacking the entire time. Ranch dressing with the salad was watery and had clearly been sitting for awhile (served in a plastic 2oz cup and lid). Catfish po'boy was described as a catfish filet on a French roll, with slaw. What we got was a hoagie sandwich bun from Walmart....2 poorly sliced tomatoes, dill pickle slices and a couple whole pepperoncini. Also ordered a chicken sandwich (with a clever name)....described as a chicken breast fried then dipped in Buffalo sauce on a brioche bun. What I got.... honey BBQ chicken strips rolled around with some sort of hot sauce. Not sure it was actually Buffalo sauce. The BBQ flavor was awful. Service was not great. We had to ask for more water when 3 of the 4 cups were completely empty. A trip to the women's bathroom got interesting when 2 when came out of the larger stall and it was pretty apparent a drug deal was taking place. Upon leaving the bathroom I realized only 1 woman actually left the bathroom and SHE WAS AN EMPLOYEE!! Who in a short period of time made 2 more trips to the bathroom......I never saw the second lady leave the bathroom. Did I mention the prices?! Way over priced for bagged lettuce and Walmart bread! Nothing was fresh made....all pre packed and/or frozen. Super disappointing and frankly disgusting business going on. I had my children with me! Even though it's the same management as the sorry ass The Old Plantation. Customer service here was pretty good, food came out quick, hot and tasty. Party of 5 and everyone was very pleased with their meals. Grilled catfish and the rice pilaf was very tasty. Chef came out and greeted us as well. read more

Everything we tried here was wonderful. We ate here several times and we enjoyed it all. I tried the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and avocado. Yummy out of this world the French fries were good too. My husband had a salad with steak on it absolutely great. Oh try the fried pickles they are excellent as well. The view is pretty awesome too. We got there and the lady who brought our menus was rude. While waiting on our food my daughter got stung by a bee on the back of her head, they didn't offer to move tables or bring us in the building, a couple asked to be sat inside after the bees started bothering them and they jumped right on it, so we had to ask and they seemed irritated about it. We were only checked on about 5 times had to ask for refills, and napkins and our food was over seasoned and the country bumpkin was overcooked. read more

A low key nice place to eat when you don't want to cook. My favorite dish is the fried cat-fish. It is perfectly breaded and fried. My date says that it is the best catfish he has ever had. I love the tartar sauce. I usually get the fried catfish with a full loaded baked potatoe. It is a large entree and enough for two to share. There is a large selection of beer. Although, they may not have the beer you want in stock. This happened to me one or twice. This is a quaint restuarant to visit that overlooks the river and has a tree as a part of the foundation. Came here for lunch to show my girlfriend Medicine Park. Food here was good and the waitresses are courteous. I'd come back here again for some lunch. Most places around Medicine Park are open during the weekends, usually past noon. Always a good time coming here after a long week. read more

Because of it's location this is somewhere I take my guest when visiting. It has a beautiful view of the Medicine Park area. And the rural atmosphere is great to share with my fellow "City Folk". Everyone is usually amazed at the tree growing directly through the middle of the restaurant. The food is OK. I order a chicken fried steak sandwich once and it was huge (about the size of my face). The service tends to be a little slow. Not to a point that makes you want to leave though. It's a cute place to go as the end of a visit to Medicine Park or Mount Scott. read more

Host was good, sat next to a dripping vent and they couldn't turn down the air even though there was a sign stating they could. We started with the trio plate and the guacamole was in a tiny bowl, enough for one chip, but also the queso came out cold and the server took 20 mins to bring one back to us. The server was not around, she seemed to forget about everything we asked, and it took half an hour to get our ticket. Food was mediocre, but definitely not worth going due to the service. I have loved Riverside Cafe since 2003. I moved away for a long time, but when I was stationed at Ft Sill, this was one of our favorite places for lunch and dinner. That hasn't changed. I love that it is right on the river, with inside and outdoor seating, you have a great view. The service is pretty good. Their fried mushrooms rock my socks, seriously. The batter is perfectly seasoned, and homemade ranch is served on the side. I usually get a steak or pasta, but last night I tried the fish and chips, which were great. I didn't love the tarter sauce, but the fish was battered perfectly! They have Pepsi products, which makes me happy. I really like Riverside Cafe. Not just for the fun memories, but for the good food too. Is this a fine dining, or fresh concept restaurant? No. Is it good food at a reasonable price? Yes. I will go to Riverside Cafe anytime I'm in Medicine Park. read more

So 10 of us pulled up into the RI erside Cafe. We were seated pretty quick. The staff was pleasantly sassy and know how to deal our mob. The food was nothing short of effing awesome. Hand ground beef, perfect char and flavor abound. I am an ass when it comes to burgers...these guys nailed it. If you ain't eating here....you're doin it wrong. We had kids, picky wives (not mine of course) and two prior military meat heads. We all left fat, happy and looking for a piggy back ride to my car. My favorite restaurant in Oklahoma. The food is fantastic, and the setting is amazing... Outside seating during the warm months overlooking the river is the best, but their dining room is plenty comfortable as well. This would be an easy 5 star review, if it wasn't for two consistent complaints, the staff isn't atrocious, but they're not exactly warm towards everyone either. And their alcohol list leaves a lot to be desired. There are a few domestic beers and a couple of imports, but not much more to be expected after that. Don't let those two criticisms dissuade you from trying out this medicine park gem, however, in my humble opinion this is a better choice for a Wichita mountain outing lunch than Meers any day. For suggestions, everything I've had here has been delicious, but my favorite is the buffalo burger. read more

Had a to wait 30 minutes to be seated because they didn't clean the tables, whenever we were seated had to wait another 10 minutes for our waitress to even ask what we wanted to drink, my nephews was missing half of his burger when our food came out!!! I did not want to give any stars because even 1 star is too generous. We went to Riverside cafe today around noon. We were a party of 5. The restaurant was basically empty. We asked to be seated next to the water and was told no by the hostess because that was not the section of the server who was up next to get a table and "we have to keep the table rotations in order so everyone makes money". What a load of crap! I waited tables for years and if the customer asked for a specific table, they got it no matter what server was up next to get a table. As for the server making money.....well the hostess cost you a 5 top and we are hefty tippers. We live locally and come to Medicine Park often. I promise you we will not be back. Ate a late lunch here after spending 1/2 of the day hiking the WMWR before the weather turned poor. The window view hanging over the creek is beautiful and indoors to keep out of the cold!
