Terrible service. Best to find a different builder. Had way too many issues with them and they do not care about your home buying experience. They will just take your deposit and move on to the next customer if you back out. And they literally will tell you that, because they are currently enjoying a seller's market. If I had to do it again, I would have not bought from them. Terrible customer service and they take your feedback but do nothing with it to fix themselves. Have heard from new neighbors that they too have had a nightmare experience. Take your hard-earned money and find a builder that will work with you and create a positive home buying experience. We live in the Morningstar community and really like the neighborhood, but our experience with Riverside Home Builders has been disappointing. After repeated requests, Riverside declined to properly repair multiple construction defects in our home. This includes a ~12-foot span of loose tile across two first-floor hallways. Riverside proposed a lower-cost repair that does not meet industry standards, and a slab crack aligned with the loose tile is visible when adjacent carpet is removed. Additional unresolved issues include: Drainage defects causing standing water after rainfall and routine sprinkler use Water-damaged sheetrock following a roof leak that was repaired, but never fully remediated or repainted A crack in the tile at the corner of the master shower, raising concerns about moisture intrusion These issues were reported over an extended period without adequate resolution, which ultimately required us to file a Residential Construction Liability Act (RCLA) notice on October 22, 2025. We are sharing our experience so other prospective buyers can make informed decisions. read more

While I only have a few photos, they don't fully capture the severity of the poor concrete work. After my neighbor's driveway required a major repair, it was clearly visible that the concrete had been poured directly on dirt with no rebar and no gravel base. This confirms serious construction deficiencies. The builder has been made aware but is refusing to correct the problem. read more

I am writing to formally express my deep concern and dissatisfaction with the continued lack of accountability, transparency, and follow-through by Riverside Home Builders and the HOA management team. Since the development of this neighborhood, significant drainage issues have been repeatedly brought to their attention, yet have gone unresolved. These concerns are not minor inconveniences; they have resulted in measurable property damage, severe erosion, and recurrent flooding that directly affects multiple homes within our small community. It has become evident that natural springs and water flow channels were not properly addressed during construction and, in many cases, appear to have been simply covered with dirt rather than corrected through appropriate engineering and drainage solutions. As a direct result, multiple homeowners in this neighborhood have been forced to spend tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket to protect their property and mitigate flooding and erosion that should have been prevented through responsible development practices. Compounding these unresolved issues is an ongoing lack of transparency regarding financial decisions within the HOA. Homeowners have experienced repeated increases in HOA dues without prior discussion, disclosure of budgets, or any clear explanation of where and how these funds are being allocated. Requests for documentation and clarification are met with vague answers or no response at all, reinforcing the perception of poor communication and questionable management practices. The pattern of delayed action, lack of transparency, and failure to address foundational infrastructure concerns has created a troubling environment of mistrust for Riverside Home Builders and the associated HOA leadership. Homeowners should not be left bearing the financial and structural burden of incomplete or inadequate development decisions, nor should they be excluded from the financial oversight of an HOA they are required to support. At a minimum, residents expect: * Clear and documented communication regarding HOA budgets, expenditures, and the justification for fee increases * A defined plan and timeline for addressing outstanding drainage and erosion issues * Transparency and homeowner involvement in decisions that impact the community both financially and structurally * Honest and proactive communication rather than reactive, evasive responses Riverside Home Builders has a responsibility to their homeowners, current and future, to operate with integrity, transparency, and accountability. Unfortunately, the experience in our neighborhood has fallen far short of these expectations. read more

Our house is 3 years old and is literally falling apart (see pics), the sales rep we dealt with was a jerk, and they didn't address any of the punch list items we discussed including leaving paint splatters all over our floor. These guys are a joke. Avoid at all costs. read more

As a Realtor in the DFW area, I work with many new homebuilders. Riverside Homebuilders is a standout for their amazing homes, communicative community managers and proactive building superintendents. Any issue my clients have had were addressed immediately. Love this builder! read more

BEWARE of MUD tax that they try to hide. Very poor communication after the sale. I would never recommend them.

They should install garage door opener inside the garage and ceiling fans. Also should not have power lines attached to the top of your homes. Need better landscapes and locations. I won't rent from them at this point. read more

PROCEED WITH CAUTION IF YOU WORK WITH RIVERSIDE BUILDERS - please be very careful with this company because they ignore contract terms. We were under contract to purchase a new build spec home in the Morningstar neighborhood in Aledo, TX. We provided a $5,000 deposit on the new home contingent upon us selling our existing residences by the middle of August. Our house did not sell within the contingency date and Riverside said they were cancelling the contract and told us they were keeping the deposit with no explanation as to why. They were able to unilaterally do this because the money did not go into escrow at a title company which seems very shady in retrospect. This is despite the fact that the contingency agreement stated if we did not sell our house "Seller shall refund the Buyer all Initial Deposit monies, less the $500.00 administration fee and any reasonable expenses incurred." We would not have signed the agreement without the contingency addendum but Riverside ignored the terms of the agreement. What's the point of a contingency if it is ignored? No reputable company does this! read more

We were excited to purchase our first new home from Riverside back in 2021 in Lone Oak. We love our home, but the road conditions are horrible. When we first looked at the house with the salesperson, Thurston, we noticed that the road was in pretty bad condition. We asked about the road, and we were told that the road would be done after all the home construction was completed. Once the home building was completed, we asked Riverside about the road, and we were directed to ask the city. We followed up with the city, and then we were told that the road wad a private road, and we needed to contact the original developer of the subdivision, who is being unresponsive. When speaking with other neighbors, they were told the same thing from Thurston and Dale from Riverside about the road being done after the houses were completed. I feel that we and our neighbors were misled when we purchased our homes. Riverside obviously knew that the road was a private road, but did not disclose this information to any of the home buyers before completing our sales contracts.There are many residents on our street that have expressed that they would not have purchased the house if they new the street was not going to be fixed. Now, 2 years after purchasing our home, we are stuck in an endless loop of finger pointing about who is going to do anything with the road. Riverside told the city they would help, but nobody has touched the road. We now have potholes and ruts in the road that are in excess of 8 inches deep making it very difficultto drive on, and now the culvert at the entrance to our neighborhood is starting to cave in. What's going to happen when the residents can't drive a car down the road to access their new homes? What's going to happen when the culvert fails, and we cannot get into the neighborhood? Why should we as the new homebuyers of Riverside homes be troubled by all of this? I think Riverside should be stepping in and doing whatever it takes to make this right for its homebuyers. read more
