My pup Copper and our family are not from the area, so 3 years ago when we were in need of daily doggy-daycare, we were thrilled to find Riverside Kennel. It's close to my work, making it very easy to drop off and pick up. After reading reviews we decided this was the place for us, Three+ years later, our pup still goes there most days. He's excited to be dropped off and happy to be picked up. The employees are great with the dogs, and I get daily reports of his adventures. Most of all, we also get peace of mind that he bid safe and not all by himself all day when we are at work. Suzette is great with him and greets him by name. She's taken additional security measures to keep the facility safe and secure (not in the best neighborhood, but that's not her fault, and not a reason not to take your dog there). All in all, we're very happy with our decision and recommend this business to anyone who wants a safe and caring place for their pup. 10/10 read more

Sad to leave a negative review but was super bummed out after having high expectations based off their website. I called ahead to see if my 6 mo Great Dane puppy could come check it out and got the go ahead and filled out a form. After driving twenty minutes I arrived and there was only one staff member to watch the dogs. Outside of not feeling comfortable to leave him, they wouldn't even allow me too because he is big. (Mind you still 6 months and a gentle giant) I also got a follow up email saying they are sorry I wasted my time but I should find somewhere with larger dogs to play with. They should put weight parameters on the site. Well needless to say I unfortunately won't be recommending BUT if anyone needs somewhere I recommend Dog Rule Resort ! These are the only people I trust to care for my balance-assist service dog. He understandably has severe anxiety when separated from me and can be a bit of a Houdini when it comes to escaping to try to find me. I had a terrible fall and was hospitalized for almost a month. I boarded him at Riverside and they were incredible. I could breathe easy knowing that Ghost was safe and getting plenty of attention. I am extremely picky bordering on uptight about leaving him with anyone. Riverside Resort for dogs exceeded all my expectations. They even sent me photos of my boy while I was hospitalized. The owner was extremely rude to me when my Regular Vet called to get an update for a vaccination that was given to my Shepherd Frida at this facility. They had no documentation of it. They are a complete mess!! Too many dogs and 1 person taking care of about 20 dogs. This is a major liability when they give your dog a vaccination and don't document it! Do not take your pets there!!!! The owner is rude and cant control her temper. She hung up on my Vet and me! This is a total disaster and an unsafe environment for any pets. They really are great. Dropped off my 10 month old pup over July 4th weekend for 2 nights of boarding. First time boarding ever. Making the reservation was super easy. Honest, great business; even when I thought about adding on additional services, they said it wasn't needed because my young pup would be too tired for it anyways. Hard for me as a tiger dog mom not to have 24/7 web cam access as other facilities do so that you can check in on your pup. However, their Instagram posts were the perfect amount of seeing my pup run around happy as can be, and not obsessing over watching a cam 24/7 (as I've done in the past lol). I've been taking my dogs here for over 10 years! Suzette and her staff go above and beyond to make sure your pet is taken care of. She's even taken my dog to the vet before when I was out of the country! Cami starts whining as soon as I mention Suzette and often doesn't want to leave haha The facility has had to expand multiple times to keep with new customers coming in. I believe Riverside also has the largest outdoor dog play space in Fort Worth. The dogs get pools & misters in the summer time, classical music and all the outside play time! Very disappointed with this doggie daycare. Confirmed they would take a 6 Month old Great Dane puppy day before. Yes he is a sweet gentle Giant. I drive 20 minutes to the location today and there was 1 employee to do it all. So dogs at daycare were left unattended outside while I was being checked in at office. There was only 5 dogs but all outside without supervision. Employee said she was calling to see if she could get help but after calling she said if he stayed he would be by himself in separate area since it was first day and she was alone. Update August 2013: Riverside has been churning through groomers since my 2012 review. The service has become very erratic, depending on the groomer. The last time I took in my dog in August, he came home with mats in his fur. My wife complained that he still smelled like dog too. My last four times bringing my dogs there has my wife tearing me a new one. Consistency is desperately needed. Ah alas, time to look for another groomer . . . again. ________________________________ This is the very last thing I am doing in 2012 before going out to celebrate New Years Eve. So, at 7:30 PM, this is important to me. I have two miniature Schnauzers. I cannot tell you how many places they have been for grooming. Everyone is an expert. Everyone knows how to groom them. I have my Schnauzers come back looking like hairless Chihuahuas. Other times, they groomed them like Westies. I've known Suzettte, the owner, through community events. And while it is a kennel, they have a grooming facility. I thought I'd give it a try. While nothing in life is perfect, Riverside Kennel comes very close. They listen to your desires and needs. They make it happen. My dogs don't feel tormented. They look forward to their grooming. They smell wonderful and their grooming is fantastic. Sometimes, when you take your dog to a groomer, you have no idea when they will be finished. It could be a few hours. It could be all day. We had to leave our husky/shepard mix at this place and we asked if they would do payment plans and they said they can but they emailed last night saying if we didn't pay by friday they was going to call the police. On top of that they gave him an extra bath that we didn't want and charged us extra for more stuff we didn't need. They said we ran out of dog food and was charging us for their dog food but when we picked him up there was almost half a bag of dog food left. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I am a local law enforcement officer for nearly 30 years and my wife is a local elementary teacher. Our family including our pets Baxter 2 years old and Tyson 4 years old had a terrible experience this past weekend. Initially we felt very comfortable leaving our dogs with Suzette and her staff over the weekend, and were even more anxious to return to pick them up considering how attached our dogs our to us. Upon my wife's arrival to pick Baxter and Tyson up she anticipated a very exciting reunion with our pets. As she waited at the counter, she heard Suzette curse one of the dogs (not ours) relating something to the effect of "GOT DAMN DOG" as the dog did not move fast enough through one of the gates. My wife called out Suzette for cursing the dog at which time she apologized, but it raised a serious red flag concerning how she treats the dogs behind closed doors. As my wife was reunited with Baxter and Tyson they were not happy whatsoever. The staff advised that Baxter was not feeling well maybe from anxiety or overheating and that he had vomited on his bed. However we were not notified of his illness! If Baxter was overheated, then why was he overheated? And why were we not immediately contacted? What if he was seriously ill and need vet care? I didn't see any experience in Suzette's bio related to veterinarian care. Anyway, these are some of the questions that could not be answered. Each one of their meals were pre-packaged as our dogs eat once in the morning and once in the evening. Over a 3 day stay 7 pre packaged meals were not provided to our dogs. But when my wife asked if our dogs had eaten twice a day they reviewed their records and answered yes. When confronted with the 7 pre packaged meals not used, they could not answer up for it. So either Suzette and her staff lied about feeding our dogs all their meals or there are some very serious deficiencies with their operation and daily feeding schedules. Suzette was very rude and defensive when questioned and had to defer to her employee for questions as the owner she could not answer. I find it funny reading her small bio under "Suzette and Friends" under Riverside-Kennel.com where she outlines her bad experiences with boarding her own dogs and how she was greeted by a very rude person at pick up. She also mentions the need for very high standards with zero mistakes to be a challenge. My wife saw Suzette's true colors when she raised her voice and cursed a very small dog. I wish I knew who that dog belonged to so I could bring it to their attention. When my dogs returned home they drank two full large bowls of water. Another indication that they were not properly cared for. Needless to say, Suzette provided a full refund including grooming services. Never again will we board again at this place. And I will be certain to share her treatment and profanity laced language toward pets on other social media sites as I would almost bet anything that was not her first time to curse the dogs under her care. To read other reviews that Suzette is rude and hung up on other customers should validate my post as she hung up on my wife as well after being questioned and forced into providing a full refund. I do want to acknowledge and send kudos to Elizabeth. Suzette placed her in a very compromising and uncomfortable situation. Though her embarrassment was evident, she remained calm and very professional as she tried her best to compensate for Suzette's failure to take responsibility. That one star is for Elizabeth as she is the only deserving of it. read more

Suzette and her staff are the most caring people - at only 7 months old, I was so nervous to start taking my dog at doggie daycare (we had a dog walker come to our house when she was younger), but I knew it would make her so happy. After much research, I finally chose Riverside and I couldn't be happier with the choice!! They know Kacey by name, learn her habits, personality, they remember which dogs are her "friends" - her favorites to play with... And it didn't happen after weeks and weeks of going there.... They made comments when I picked her up after the FIRST DAY that ensured me they really paid close attention! Great facebook pics so I can check up throughout the day. Our pup is now a regular, 2-3 times a week for doggie daycare. When we get to the last stop light before the kennel, she starts freaking out, wagging her tail, whining and pawing at the door -- she knows where she's going and she LOVES IT! I have never boarded my dog before or sent him to a doggy daycare. This was my first time calling a place to check on boarding him. The lady answered the phone sounding as if she was overwhelmed. I informed her of what my need was and also let her know that I have never used this type of service before so I really don't know what questions I need to ask other than pricing. I would give them 0 stars if i could. I took my dog here so i could move. They burned his back paw pads from the hot concrete and rocks that they leave the dogs on. They proceeded to call me and say what's wrong with back legs "he's limping" trying to cover their ass because they knew exactly what they did. As I'm leaving i hear the manager yelling at the dog that was next to her to get away. I feel terrible for leaving baby in such a bad facility. He also had bloody diarrhea which he has never had. I have been bringing my very energetic German Shepherd, Heidi, to Suzette and her team now for the past 1.5 years. Due to the nature of my work, Heidi has to spend multiple overnights per month at the kennel, so I have gotten to know and trust Suzette and her staff during that time. Suzette truly cares about every dog in her care. She has repeatedly gone above and beyond to help me out, and I can rest easy knowing that Heidi is well cared for and properly socialized when I can't be home to take care of her myself. Most kennels can't say that the dogs enjoy going, but every time we pull up to Riverside I hear the same excited yelping from the back seat as when we pull up to the dog park, so I know Heidi is actually happy to get to see her friends. I started taking my lab puppy there when he was almost 4 months old and they did such a great job with him. I take him to doggy day care once a week and have used them for boarding. My sweet boy knows when it's day care day and gets so excited to see all his friends! He comes home utterly exhausted so I know he spends the whole day playing and not locked inside a small room like some other places do. We've been bringing our dogs to Suzette and her employees for 3 years. Our dogs are not always nice to other dogs in our neighborhood, but something about Riverside takes away their anxiety. They get excited when they arrive and look happy when we pick them up. It was also convenient to have grooming services and bordatella vaccines available. A one stop shop for boarding needs. I also loved that they supported their community and neighborhood. From advocating for lost, abused, and stray pets, to being a beacon for their depressed neighborhood. When I first took my (then) puppy here, he acted like a prison dog - hugging the fence and unsure what to do. The owner, Suzette, said he had to learn how to play and he'd come around. Boy, did he ever!!! He is now 2 1/2 years old and I've trusted Riverside Kennel with him for Doggie Day Care (DDC) and all the boarding that's necessary for my job and leisure time. Seriously - I have to board him A LOT - a few times up to two (2) weeks. He is ALWAYS super-excited to go, and worn out from all the playing when he gets home. As a new boarder, Suzette sent me texts of my pup playing and now I check their Facebook to see updates. He absolutely loves all the folks who work here, and they treat him like he's a member of their family. I've tried a couple of other boarding/Doggie Day Care places, even one with cameras - nothing compares. When I left him for DDC at the place with cameras, I kept track of him throughout the day - not one person interacted with him or any other animals in the 6 hours I dared to leave him. NOT. ONE. At one point, he actually laid down in the 20+, dog-crowded pen, bored senseless. Why would I pay for him to be bored in a strange place with people who clearly don't care when he could be relaxed at home or playing his heart out at Riverside Kennel??? I love to pull up to Riverside Kennel and see their employees playing, laughing, and petting/loving on the dogs. Suzette's motto is "Dogs love us - we love dogs!", and this could not be more true in our case. I trust my fur baby to them, to treat him like I would. We love Riverside Kennel - have used them for over a year after a coworker's recommendation, and in turn have recommended them to other people. Whenever we arrive to drop our two dogs off for boarding, we usually find one of the staff members outside playing with the dogs. Went one time for an interview thinking I would like to work there saw firsthand how the owner treated her employees and still did not back out of the interview was very poorly treated during the interview after being up for over 24 hours I explained to her how I had just put one of my own dogs down I feel as though my dogs are family members not once did I here condolences or her say sorry or anything to me she only told me how she did not feel that I had the pace for the work or anything nice at all to say to me. To my great surprise, when I picked up a recent rescue that was being boarded there due to no foster/adopter, Riverside Kennels knocked the $220 bill to nil. It's a nice facility however every time I picked my dog up from daycare, I noticed she was always inside in the enclosed area with the lady working at front desk. I gave it a couple more tries but one day, I noticed around lunch time they posted a picture of my dog on facebook and she was sitting by the reception desk. 4 hours later, I went to pick my dog up and she was in the same dang spot. I won't pay for a daycare to keep my dog inside a 10X10 room when I could leave her at home for free. I thought I paid so she could roam around outside with other dogs and socialize.
