Which I paid in full at the time. Since then I've been getting a letter periodically saying that I owe them $1100 even after paying the full amount. After a few phone calls, I found out it was for my son's operation because the insurance was only paying for some of it. Which was weird because they had spoken to the insurance company in advance and told me what my portion would be. But I said it's fine and I agreed to pay and PAID. They told me at the time that I'm all set. But nope. I'm still getting letters from them saying I still need to pay. What is going on here???? I'm supposed to go back for implant but I'm going to go somewhere else now because of this ridiculous situation. Everyone stay away!

I was seen by Dr. Maddalena on a Saturday morning due to severe pain in my lower right jaw. We had…read morenever met, but his assessment of my condition as forwarded by another dentist (Dr. Defillipis, who shares a partnership with Dr. Maddalena and my long-time provider, was not on call). He did, however contact Dr. Maddalena on my behalf. So, via a three party association, he agreed to see me immediately. He discovered and corrected an error made by a VA dentist the day prior. He performed a route canal that very morning and prescribed an alternate antibiotic. He also provided several packages of two over the counter medications he judged to be most effective for any post-procedural and infection induced pain. He is a consummate professional and treated me with the care I needed based on medical necessity and not on the basis of a prior relationship. He directed me to call his cell phone later in the day to assure the measures taken were effective and called me on a Sunday morning to verify the continuing decrease of symptoms. His actions reflect the importance of his perceived responsibility to render care when needed.

They have always taken me when i had an issue, and also all cleanings have been done quickly and efficiently. Also, never had an issue with my insurance (Metlife) and this office, which i also appreciate so i don't have to worry about the paperwork portion. I've never had issues with being delayed while in the dentist office, and actually appreciate when they call earlier in the week to see if i can come in. I am wholeheartedly pleased to be his patient. He listens and genuinely gets it about those who have been through a lot in reference to their oral health. Literally every visit with him has been joyful. Not something I thought would ever happen in a dentist's chair. His assistant Shannon is wonderful, his offices are a pure pleasure to visit, and the Wayne office is quite beautiful and state-of-the-art. As part of a team, with Dr. Benjamin Jacobs, who worked on me during a very lengthy and invasive surgery I am so pleased and elated that I now, after a lifetime, have a smile, just like most of this planet's population. Something I never thought I would have, ever, it never dawned on me that it was possible, but Dr. Spitzer and Jacobs have done that for me. I thank both of them from the very bottom of my heart. I had previously visited another surgeon who was overcharging simply because they knew the pain I was in, but thankfully, I found Riverside. Dr. Richer was hilarious, made me feel completely comfortable, and gave a detailed explanation of my X-rays. The entire staff at Riverside was just as kind and funny, which truly made the whole experience so much better--especially for something as unpleasant as wisdom tooth surgery. When I went in for my procedure, they even gave me a free shirt, which was both hilarious and thoughtful. After surgery, they provided a head wrap and an ice pack, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Small touches like these really matter and show the level of care and thought Riverside puts into their patients. This is day two after surgery, and shockingly, I feel better than when I first went in. I highly recommend Riverside to anyone needing oral surgery. Thanks again, Dr. Richer and the entire team!

My husband and I paid over $5,000 to have his wisdom teeth removed. We signed a treatment plan for…read moreone thing and were charged for far more. The surgeon did discuss what he planned to do, so it doesn't seem it was a "something came up during surgery" deal, but several things were not listed on the treatment plan we signed with a price. My husband was told to take Tylenol and Ibuprofen after having impacted wisdom teeth removed which was the anestheisologist's decision to be fair. When I called the office because he was considering the ER due to the pain, a nurse, over the phone, insisted it could not be dry socket. She did not see my husband, is not the physician, and felt it was appropriate to give medical advice over the phone. I requested he see another surgeon in a different location (same practice). It was dry socket. The surgeon in West Orange was fantastic. The communication in West Caldwell left a lot to be desired. After the correct antibiotic was given and he was treated for the complication, we thought we were all clear. We went on with our lives and then received a bill the other day for just under $1200. I spoke with billing, I spoke with the office, and honestly, legal fees would be more expensive. I understand "things happen in surgery" and if our insurance covered this we might not have to pay it, but we couldn't ask insurance if it was covered because it was not what we signed up for. I honestly do not feel it was a change, because he mentioned a bone graft being part of the plan all along. I do not recommend the West Caldwell office. This was such a disaster and we finally could breathe and now we can't again. I would recommend the West Orange office. Dr. Brown in West Orange was excellent, and the surgeon our dentist requested him to see in the paperwork he sent over. I only wrote down the name of the office, not the surgeon he recommended so that was ignored on the paperwork when Riverside received it. The surgeons are fine, the West Caldwell office doesn't have it together so be prepared to do their job while you pay them far more than you agreed to.

He has done root canals, extractions and cavities for myself and my children (ages 10-17) and we have all left his office smiling and pain-free. My youngest has always been afraid of dentists but now she is asking me to schedule her appointments! The office staff is very pleasant (especially Karina at the front desk!) and we never have to wait. Dr. Shrayman has weekend as well as late hours and it is always easy to find a time to schedule. There are tvs in each of the rooms which makes it more inviting and fun for the kids. However, it is really Dr. Shrayman himself - who talks to the patient; including the children, keeps them informed as he is working and is sensitive to their needs that really keeps us coming back.

I'd originally been told by my dentist that I had a canker sore, but Dr. Brown identified it correctly as a cyst. She explained everything thoroughly during my consultation, which helped put me at ease. The patient registration process was detailed, especially regarding medications--something I really appreciated since I have certain allergies. That level of care meant so much to me. On surgery day, once I was numbed up, I was good to go--LOL! Dr. Brown kept checking on me throughout the procedure. I felt completely safe and cared for, and her assistant was equally attentive. The follow-up was excellent, too. I received a call today asking how I was feeling. I mentioned the soreness, which was expected, and that I'd be sleeping in the recliner for a few days, skipping my CPAP for a bit. I have the highest regard for Dr. Akeyla Brown and her entire staff.
