Letter put on my door for trash fine
    Renee S.

Also twice since I lived here my lock on my door has broken. I was locked out of my apartment for over an hour calling the office and the emergency number. I had to go all the way down to the office and they were all having a meeting. I told them what was going on, I've been locked out of my apartment because the lock is broken. Sierra the manager yelled I need a face mask on!" They were unwilling to help and I also asked the maintenance person to help me, no one did. I had to call corporate to finally get help. I also am getting letters saying I need to give up my apartment and no longer have access to my apartment although my rent is paid. I am being threatened to leave my apartment because long shoals owes $100 to the fire marshal for a trash fee, a rule I had no idea about nor is it being enforced.

Mold from the leaking hot water heater they installed
    Aziza B.

Moved into this brand new complex in January of this year only to find they installed a leaking hot water heater in my apartment which lead to mold spreading throughout one of my closets and within several walls. After getting sick from the mold clean up process, not being able to work and then having to spend additional money to stay at a hotel for several days, while still sick, I was told by the regional director of Tribute Properties who manages the complex that their poorly installed hot water heater was now my responsibility since I am renting this apartment. Weeks after this incident, I am still coughing. Besides this, I've now had 3 light fixtures which have either been flickering on and off by themselves for days on end or just completely stopped working altogether even after being replaced. I DO NOT RECOMMEND RENTING HERE!!

    Gorgeous views. Great community!

When I first discovered Riverstone Apartments at Long Shoals, I had just gone through some rough experiences with apartments. I was not necessarily excited about restarting the process. However, from the moment I stepped on the property I knew it was home. The entire community has a beautiful aesthetic. It truly feels like resort style living. Gorgeous views and great neighbors are just the beginning of why I love these apartments. I have a one year old puppy who is living his best life with myself and my roommates. There are plenty of places to walk and pet waste stations that encourage residents to keep our community clean. The dog park is such a great place for my pup to socialize and run with his other furry friends as well as meet new people! I love it here and anyone who is looking for a home in an apartment community should make Riverstone their top choice.

Loud community, neighbors play loud music and the leasing office won't do anything about it.

To preface, I was never late on rent. Never had a complaint against me. I made a few complaints…read moreabout neighbors and on my social media about Ansley since there was excessive noise in the halls, doors slammed all the time, an insanely loud Mustang with open exhaust at 7am daily, and dog poop in the dog park every day. When I complained about the dog poop, they said they don't do anything about it and had been out of the DNA test kits! Dog park turf is never cleaned and is DISGUSTING. Make sure you don't give constructive feedback to management, even if they ask for it, because they will retaliate and issue you a non-renewal on your lease. CRAZY since they had issued me a renewal already, but I went back and forth with them since they were increasing my rent. Meanwhile, they had the apt across from mine listed for hundreds less online. Where is the integrity in that?? Once I complained, they issued me a non-renewal and it was 45 days before my lease expired. To cover themselves legally, they offered to extend my lease to give me 60 days to vacate. After I complained and gave feedback, they will used my suggestions and scheduled events like pup-cup day, community game night, and improved landscaping which was horrible at best. They told me they didn't have a budget for events - but seem to be having more events once I brought my complaints to the Fogelman corporate office. But Fogelman loves the property manager here bc she always hurries to clean up the community before their visits. They have no problem increasing your rent every year even if you're paying hundreds more than your neighbor. They will lie and tell you your rent increase is not negotiable, but it is and I know this bc hellooooo neighbors talk!! Also interesting that a leasing consultant left right after me for a MUCH better community and two maintenance employees are leaving soon. Additionally, the gym equipment is out of date, carpet always dirty, kids play around in there, and wifi never works. A former leasing consultant was also a personal trainer and had a separate gym membership, if that tells you anything. "Pet spa" is a washbasin in the car wash area with no towels supplied and it and the car wash are closed half the year anyways. Honestly the ONLY allure of Ansley is their cheap rent, which is justified bc their amenities, management, and property need a complete overhaul. Save your time and go to one of the many many other newer properties in Asheville/Arden!! Also, most of the reviews are incentivized. After people move in, Ansley asks for reviews and gives people points and gift cards for responding. I'm sure mgmt will respond to this with a generic response defending themselves, but why would they kick me out and then utilize my feedback to better the community if what I was saying isn't true? Oh and if they offer to sit down and talk to you to discuss an issue...DON'T BOTHER. I did exactly that and the property manager was fake, smug and lied in the meeting straight to my face.

We were in a crunch to move quickly during the holidays, and I was looking for something available. Thankfully, Ansley had everything we needed (including a garage) for a quick move-in. There were no crazy fees, no jumping through hoops, and it was quick and easy to have a nice place. The amenities are great, too, including the pool and playground for littles. Extremely dog friendly, which was very important to us. Our view is beautiful. The office staff is great, and the maintenance team is beyond amazing.

I…read moregenuinely do not even know where to start because every time I thought things couldn't get worse, they somehow did. First I was wrongfully given an unauthorized roommate notice by property manager Rod Senate, who chose to believe random residents over me about what was happening inside my own apartment without even listening to my side. From that point on, I felt completely dismissed and ignored no matter how serious the issues became. Then came the rodents. At first I thought I had a leak in my ceiling, but it turned out to be rodent urine leaking through. Maintenance came, set a couple traps, caught two rodents, and then basically acted like the problem was solved while I continued living in disgusting conditions. Nothing meaningful was ever done. I fought tooth and nail trying to get someone to care. Pest control workers themselves told me how unsanitary and unacceptable it was to be living like this. The health department couldn't even fully investigate because they weren't allowed attic access. Imagine being trapped in a situation where everyone acknowledges how bad it is, yet nobody actually helps you. On top of all of that, maintenance worker Tony sexually harassed me throughout the time I lived there. Eventually he was fired because there were other allegations against him too, which only confirmed that I was not imagining any of it. It is honestly disturbing how long this behavior was allowed to continue before action was finally taken. I later learned the rodents had completely destroyed the insulation in my ceiling, meaning I was basically paying to heat and cool the outside. My electric bills were ridiculous, and when I asked for help or compensation, I was told to "call Duke." That was it. No accountability. No concern. Nothing. This place is absolutely horrendous, and honestly so is every property connected to Pegasus. I have never felt so helpless, ignored, taken advantage of, and exhausted in my life. If you are a young woman especially, do not sign here. They allow dangerous situations to continue even after they are reported, and they make you feel like you are the problem for asking for basic safety and livable conditions.

I even gave them a forwarding address after moving out. Now my credit is affected. All it would have taken was this complex to call me once after moving out. But no they didn't and pushed me straight to debt collector and hurt me Over false charges. This should be illegal. Stay away is my advice. There are plenty of complexes on this road that are better priced and better management. This company will screw you....

Unfortunately, our biggest concern throughout the entire lease was the humidity and mold. From the beginning, we noticed paint cracking in several corners of the apartment. In addition, whenever we traveled for a week or two, we would return to find mold in the sinks, bathtub, and toilet. We eventually purchased an air purifier to help manage the issue. This was by far the most disappointing aspect of our experience. Parking also became increasingly difficult during the last few months of our lease. We owned a van and, despite paying for parking like every other resident, we were often forced to park farther away due to complaints from neighbors. Finding parking after 6 PM was frequently a challenge. Management was hit or miss. Steve was always professional, helpful, and pleasant to work with. Unfortunately, our interactions with other staff members were not always as positive, and customer service could be improved. The pool was a nice amenity, but there were times when it did not appear to be as clean or well-maintained as expected. Overall, this community has potential, and the apartment size and pricing were definite positives. However, the ongoing humidity and mold concerns, parking issues, and inconsistent management experience are things prospective residents should consider before signing a lease.

Advertised as luxurious apartments with all these great amenities. It is all a lie. The said amenities are constantly broken or not open. The reality is that it is an UNSAFE and very trashy area to move into. The pool is open two months out of the year, and even then, there is no upkeep and its constantly filled with trash of alcohol cans floating in the pool, the chairs are so ripped you can sit in them, and bathrooms are filled with uncleaned throw up for days. It is supposedly a gated community, what a lie! The gate has been broken for TWO YEARS, which is crazy. My car is constantly broken into and bikes are always being stolen, along with sketchy characters circling around. Also very hostile neighbors, have made me feel severely unsafe. Old creepy men asking me where I live, etc. I would not let kids roam around here freely. Getting mail here is atrocious experience and it has taken weeks of getting sent to talking to different people just to get a package. Supposedly smoke free but the stench of cigarette smoke is always lingering. People don't clean up after their dogs and you will always step in poop as soon as you leave your door. Maintenance is also nonexistent, I had no running water, not able to flush toilets, take showers, etc. They didn't show up for days, literal DAYS. All of this and they will charge you insane prices, save yourself the sanity unlike me and avoid these apartments at all cost!
