As we waited for the sandwiches to be prepared I, walked around the store and checked out the aisles of canned goods, and groceries. We also saw a small freezer with raviolis, gnocchis and sausages My Italy's best was pretty good -great flavor with an average portion size of meats. Customer service was odd - neither sandwich was cut in half and I don't think I've ever had a sandwich on a hard roll that wasn't cut in half. We popped some cash into the tip jar and that was met with either silence or indifference, and that always grinds my gears.

The store is on the site of the Burr's Mill, and a few yards from the Sue Grossman Still River Greenway. There even appears to be parking for the Greenway across the street. I had a BEC breakfast sandwich, and it was hot and eggy. The egg was perfectly proportioned to the roll, and would definitely go back for more or to try a lunch sandwich. They do have daily specials - the day I was there they were pushing a buffalo mac and cheese available on a sandwich or as a stand alone dish. The women at the deli were even kind enough to send my dog a piece of cheese when they noticed him being walked in the parking lot (an especially kind gesture because I did not plan to share my breakfast sandwich). They also have an ice cream station that serves local Peaches N Cream ice cream (although not particularly hopping in November). There is indoor and outdoor seating, and parking seems sufficient for the two businesses.

The prices are generally quite a bit higher than the nearby Stop and Shop, but honestly, the quality of their locally produced items is far higher. Still, if you're buying some basics like soup or milk, you'll pay more here, and some prices can be really way up there. Sometimes we're frustrated by that, other times we're grateful to find some delicious fresh fish or prepared salads. Bantam is not our first market of choice, but we're here regularly for some things we like and want.
