It has been years since my review of Rivertown Ford and FINALLY the sudden downshifting has been acknowledged by Ford and a recall has been issued!!! I stand by my review and can truly say SHAME ON YOU RIVERTOWN FORD!!!! My truck would downshift and I almost had a head on collision - if you are traveling at 55 mph and the vehicle downshifts, you cannot complete your pass. Purchased a used 2014 Chrysler 200 back in May 2026. The car was having issues with the signal lights randomly not working. This happened during the test drive. I was assured that they fixed the issue because they held onto the vehicle for several days supposedly inspecting it. Sure enough 2 days after I get the car home the signal lights randomly stopped working again! The remote to lock and unlock the doors sometimes wouldn't work and then I'd have to open the key fob to use the actual key to gain access into the car. I changed the battery on the key fob and the issue is with the actual car. At night time the headlights and tail lights on the right side of the vehicle wouldn't work. The issues with my car were greater than I was made aware of. The issue had never been fixed and I was basically sold a lemon. I've owned this car for several months now and have literally only been able to drive it for 2 weeks! I tried taking it back to the dealer and they sent me to the Chrysler dealer. Basically my car had been turned in several times by the previous owner for the same issue. I took my car to a car repair place and it turns out that my car needs a CPU (computer for electrical). This part is back ordered and it could take many more months before the part is available. My car has been un-driveable since the day I purchased it because I could risk getting a ticket for headlights not working and signal lights not working. I purchased this car for my son as his first vehicle and I'm extremely disappointed that a dealership would sell me this vehicle. I wouldn't recommend buying a used vehicle from them. They never told me that I could return the vehicle if issues arise immediately after purchase. Definitely thinks twice before purchasing a used vehicle from them. read more

I took my 2020 F-150 in for a routine oil change, tire rotation, and tune-up on May 13, 2023 and today(may 27th) I was working out in my garage and noticed one of my lug nuts are missing. It's not just any lug nut, it's the one that requires a special tool to remove. So there's only two people that can have that, myself and the dealership. No one has been around my property to mess with my vehicle because I have cameras and motion sensors so either the lug nut fell off after a couple days or it was deliberately left off during the tire rotation. Either way, that is very dangerous, especially driving on the highways and rugged roads in this city. This should NEVER happen. This has never happen the 20 years I've been driving cars or trucks. Joe Willie, the Acquisition Manager with Rivertown Ford, contacted me through Facebook marketplace and told me that he would pay 31k that day for my truck. I told him that as I was trying to buy my first house for my girlfriend and baby, I would take that (under 3k what I was asking for) to get my DTI down. He had me fill all the paperwork out (which I had to do while at work) and told me they would call to schedule a pickup. Once a pickup was scheduled, I took off and traveled 5 hours home (as I work out of town) to fill out the last signatures. Even sent me a picture of a check. Once the delivery folks arrived, they looked at the truck and said they would have to pass due to there being more damage than what they thought. This is after I paid $3k+ to pay down the loan to what they needed it. That was $3k I chose to scoot by without in order to better provide for my daughter in the long run, and $3k I could've used to make repairs to my vehicle. The pictures on Marketplace showed the damage and if asked I would have been more than willing to send more detailed pictures. I feel like I was completely led on and this was a very unproffessional way to go about this transaction. They called today to tell me that they cannot troubleshoot the car with the current battery and that I will need to pick it up, put a new battery in and bring it back. I had to report this dealership to the state of Georgia and Ford corporate to get any progress with my situation. They do not answer phone calls or respond to emails. Ford Corporate forced Rivertown to purchase the vehicle back from me. The "owner" called me and stated that the loan is paid in full and I am not at fault for any further charges. Skye is now demanding I make payments in excess of $1,000, but will not even say what the actual amount is. He is now going as far of accusing me of things that I never did. I have the phone call recorded where I was informed I do not owe any money at all. Georgia is a single party consent state, so I am well within my rights to record any conversation without informing or getting consent from the person being recorded. They took the vehicle back, yet are refusing to reimburse me for the down payment made. Buyer beware, do not give these criminals your business. read more

I recently had a poor experience at Rivertown Ford. I had an appointment at 9:00 AM for an oil change and tire rotation. I also had a problem with a a trim piece on my roof. By 5:30, I received no phone calls, emails, or texts. I called. My service advisor had gone home already. Another service advisor told me my truck was ready. He didn't know anything about my roof trim. I was advised to take my truck to a glass shop to fix the roof trim because the back window needed to remove the back window. I had to pick it up the following day. I have a premium level maintenance package AND a premium level extended warranty. I needed an air filter which the maintenance package would not cover AND the warranty would not cover the trim panel on my roof. This is an abject failure on the part of the dealer and Ford Motor company. read more

Terrible Experience! I went to look at this 2013 Audi S4 and was told it drove smooth perfectly fine with no issues. The CARFAX also had a good history so I thought it was going to be a great deal as it was priced very reasonably. I ended up traveling all the way from Atlanta over 150 miles in an Uber only to find out it had a bad transmission. This was not brought to light at all. Upon test driving the car there was slippage and very substantial power loss. The engine light was not on but the "transmission overheating" light kept popping up when accelerating and there was instant power loss. They acted as though they knew nothing about it... but the transmission light popped up 3 times in the space of 10 minutes me driving it, just didn't weigh up! To make matters worse there was some complications with my finance paperwork but I was not told there was a change in the APR rate originally quoted and the down payment amount had also changed, which I would have been okay with if mentioned promptly. Do business here at your own risk, personally one of the worst experiences I've had at any dealer. read more

I rated the service that I experienced a top score because from the minute that I approached the receptionist at the front door to the well-wishing goodbye from service advisor Mackenzie G, I was treated like a hometown best friend. Mackenzie demonstrated a thorough understanding of my truck's mechanical needs and was clear, upfront, (and showed empathy for my situation) when she communicated the process of repair from diagnostics to restoration. She was faithful to update the progress and very cordial when I requested a change to the original plan. My only disappointment has nothing to do with Rivertown Ford Dealership. Rather it is with how the truck is designed. As a backyard mechanic I would have saved some money by doing some of the work myself except that the engineers who designed the power train didn't seem to give much thought about the struggle to repair that causes the greatest cost to be in labor because to even get close to the faulty part requires Chess-game like maneuvers. But I will say that the service department overcame the challenge very well. In the end I am happy that my truck is running like new. I have confidence that it will serve me well for many years to come. read more

I wouldn't suggest anyone bring their vehicle here for service at all!!!! I usually take my truck to get serviced at different Ford Dealerships... since I travel a lot! But this location in particular gave me the hardest time. ( I don't need a hard time because I'm already disabled and fighting for my life) I set an appointment to get my truck serviced for a alignment. I received a follow up call to confirm. The next day, when it was time to take my truck in, I walked in and was not greeted when I walked in . That was kinda odd to me but business is different. But after standing there awkwardly for about 7 mins or so, someone came to finally help me.(Makenzie Once Makenzie came to help me, she had informed me that my recently confirmed reservation for my truck was now canceled... (Okay that's strike 1) She then said she would be able to wiggle me in for that day (11am was my appointment and now I don't know what time my truck will be seen, but I have to trust I will get my truck seen at some point that day.) That day I kept getting text that said my appointment was canceled. So I called, I was told it was a glitch and Makenzie would send me a text to tell me my truck it ready. (She did) They sent me a ride to pick me up from my home so I could get my truck (3pm) I walked in and No one went over anything... they simply told me to pay and sent me out the side door to where my truck was (still with the plastic on the seat) and no one drove it to the bay/drop off area and did a walkthrough with me... They just assured me my truck was finished and it also went through an inspection. (I have the proof of that) That's was strange to me as well because every dealership I've been to usually has your car in the bay/drop off area or pull it around to you and they do a walk through to talk about what was done or etc. (or simply just have it in the bay/ drop off area, not just send a link and show you what's all going on. Also after a alignment, some dealerships drive the car to make sure it's okay..NOPE! NONE OF THIS!!! So fast forward to the next day, less than 24 hours of me having my car returned, it breaks down 5miles from my house..... One wheel goes left and the other goes right.. almost causing me a life threatening accident. Now me and my family needs therapy. I call them and tell them what's going on and they ask to get the truck towed to Rivertown. I recorded and took pics of everything before my truck was towed and while it was on the tow truck. But when it got to the shop, i was told it needed a lot of work done. And it had other issues that wasn't there when I took pics and videos when it was getting lifted to be on the tow truck. (Strange! And I'm at strike 3) It's now Sunday and I have to wait until Monday for an update.. ALSO THIS PLACE DOES NOT GIVE COURTESY CARS... -*****UPDATE: MONDAY..... So it is very hard to get in contact with anyone. You leave voicemails and call but no one will answer. It wasn't until I called the Ford complaints line that they answered for Ford, than turned around (less than 5 mins.) and called me and said I had to pay for the repairs ... (almost 3,00.00) I explained to them that I didn't cause the damages, and that the tow company they called/provided , caused damages on top of the misalignment they preformed on my truck. They said maybe the tow truck did it or some of the damages. I called the tow truck company and they explained to me that someone at Rivertown told them the wrong information about the damages. ****TUESDAY So on the drive to school I went up to the dealership and asked to gain access to my truck... and what do you know.... The part that they told me was broken, was actually sitting in my front seat not broken...The way they explained how this part was broken is in fact not... so many lies....(have pics as well) Wednesday :Turns out, My truck had a recall on the parts that was broken! But no one look to check the codes. We was told by Ford Customer Relations to take the codes and the print out up to the dealership so they can fix the parts that's was broken. Everything was covered under a warranty recall. We had Ford on the phone so they could talk to the service advisor Makenzie. She said the codes didn't pop up, but they never checked because the truck was dead. Nevertheless they still had the go ahead to do the repairs and still refuse. So Makenzie told Robbie in the back office and Robbie asked us to come to his office. When we got inside of his office, he immediately asked yelling WHAT DO YOU WANT! We told him we had the codes to fix the truck and we had Ford on the phone to explain the codes. And we wanted our truck fix He became a bit more upset and yelled "NOT GONE HAPPEN" We asked why. He went on to say we are asking to many questions and he was upset we talked to the owner. He asked us if we was broke. And told us to get out his office and get our "fucking tuck off his lot" ! The customer service I received at Ford was great. Chris and Chance were very friendly and attentive. I have a Chevrolet Camaro so tires for these cars can be a little pricey but I received a deal where I bought 3 Nitto tires and got 1 tire free. This deal saved me about $186 ($183 for the tire and $3 for the disposal fee). I was able to get 4 tires, mount and balance, and alignment for a little under $800. I was thankful Chance took the opportunity to educate me on my tire options because that saved me a lot of money as I decided not to buy BF Goodrich tires this time (which were only about $195). The service took about 1 hr and 30 mins to complete. This service was way better than the service I received at Son's Chevrolet when inquiring about the same services (Chevrolet wouldn't honor their price matching guarantee for tires). I don't have a Ford but needless to say they definitely earned my business! read more

I had new tires, brakes, and rotors resurfaced in September 2023. I had to return immediately because of a squealing sound. They informed me that now a new caliper was needed along with $400. I went to another shop and found out you must replace both calipers not one. I had the work done for half Rivertown's price. This past week I had to replace rotors and another set of brake pads on my car. Rivertown should have replaced the rotors instead of resurfacing the old ones. I had only chosen to use the dealer for service and repairs but unfortunately their dishonest business practices have caused me to lose all confidence with them. read more

I bought a used 2013 Mazda3 for my 16 year old son from Rivertown Ford, and I had a positive experience in doing so. I actually found the car online, and was able to put down a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle for 6 days, which they did honor. Once I arrived at this dealership, they let me take the car on a long test drive by myself. The car was in good used condition, and it did not smell like smoke, which was a huge plus! The entire process went smoothly: I was already approved for a loan through Bank of America before I even arrived at this dealership, which saved me lots of time. Neither the salesman nor the finance guy pressured me one bit into purchasing additional add on packages etc. The price advertised online was the price I paid (plus the tag/title fee & taxes); they DO NOT charge a bogus "prep fee" like some greedy dealerships do. After they filled up the tank of gas for me, I drove home in the car. Word of caution-- ask questions about the car before you decide to go see it... the photos online are somewhat deceiving (the photos online did not show the large rust spots on the roof nor the chips in the windshield that were very noticeable upon my own inspection in person). I ended up having to replace the windshield within days of bringing the car home. The car battery also died within the first month of purchasing, which was a headache to deal with! And be aware that the county this dealership is in DOES NOT require vehicles to pass an annual emission test in order to get a tag... so if you live in a county that does, I highly advise you to get an emission test done on the car prior to purchasing. Their service department was not honest with me. First, I was having transmission issues. They "checked" it and told me they needed to charge me a $750 Diagnostic Fee to see if the Valve Body was good and most likely would need a new transmission, at a cost of approximately $6000. I took the truck to another local mechanic. He checked the fluid level and found it 4 quarts low, due to a small leak in the seal. He replaced the seal, changed the fluid and filters, at a cost of about $300 and it has not been a problem since! The Ford service department told me that they did not think it was necessary to check the fluid level because of a "code" that showed up on their equipment. read more

Our truck was taken in 3 different times for the same problem that still has not been touched. The first time it was dropped off the service tech canceled the day it was supposed to be fixed and scheduled it a week later, dropped off the second time. We were offered and taken to a rental place but denied by them because river town did did not pay their bills basically, and now that it was dropped off a 3rd time They told me it's going to be a 2 day job to rip apart the dash and replace an actuator. 2 days And last but not least the were going to get me a ride home but had to wait because it exceeded the amount they have with Lyft. I'd give negative stars if I could. GM - Brad Williams is disrespectful and unbothered. I brought my brand new vehicle in *again* for warranty service (first issues appeared the day after I bought it with a mere 200 miles on the dash), I was told my car can't be fixed, and that i have to turn off all my safety features each time I get behind the wheel, and I can't use my remote start or any of the nicities I paid for until they can get an update for my car which in their best guess will be mid summer 2024! He also refused to put me in a rental car knowing the defect on my brand new 2024 vehicle is a huge safety issue and he even made crude jokes about my shaky video documentation I provided capturing some of my car's electrical defects as I'm driving 70mph on the highway (video is shaky because I'm scared to death to drive my own car!). I even tried to trade my vehicle in since there is no fix, they refused to offer me a rental, and I was simply terrified to drive my car again. But Mr. Williams wouldn't even offer me a price for my vehicle I purchased brand new from his dealership 7 weeks prior until I showed him my 30 day payoff to which he offered me even less than (keep in mind I put down $10,000 at signing). He offered me a total of $13,000 less for my vehicle than what I just paid for it less than 2 months ago, and also marked up his USED 2022 vehicle I was looking at trading for to over $3,000 over the original sticker MSRP. He also laughed and winked at me when I told him I don't care if my car kills me, because Ford will be paying my family for it, but if my children are in the car with me and are killed too, I will come back from the dead and make sure heads roll. Point blank I was sold a lemon instead of my dream car, and not even the GM can be bothered to right what's been wronged or at least regard the safety of my family over trying to make a quick $20,000 off of my misfortune of buying a defective brand new vehicle from his dealership less than 2 months ago. read more

I spoke with the service manager, Scott in reference to my daughters car. The service manager is the rudest person I have ever spoken to. He belittled me on the call as if my military training in Mechanics was useless. He asked me how many Ford transmissions I had broken down and even went as far as to say that I thought a service bulletin was my "fix all". He said that he would trust his mechanic over a person with no equipment and no training," referring to me. He is extremely rude. Scheduled my car to get a recall looked at, and dropped the car off the night before, in order to (hopefully) have it worked on at 8am like the appointment was scheduled. Received no phone calls, so I called at noon to check up on it, no information. Next, I called again close to closing time, and the service person said "I have no information on it at this moment." Stopped in right as they were closing to find out it wasn't even looked at. They didn't even know if the recall was necessary or not. This is an update to a review I wrote in 2014. With the renovations complete, the interior of this dealership is very nice. They have a good number of amenities for people in the waiting lobby such as food, coffee, water, tv and couches. I came here to get my truck serviced for a recall and again had a good experience - both with the staff and the low price I paid for the service. The wait was somewhat long - about 90 minutes - but nothing too terrible. Again, while my review has stayed the same, it's good to know that the service here is still good. I know a lot of people haven't had great experiences at Rivertown but mine was pretty darn good. I may be an outlier, but I'm a loyal customer right now. I'll definitely continue to take my truck here to get serviced. read more

With an appointment, it took over 2 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. Just letting people know so they can plan accordingly. Staff was nice. So that part is good. read more

I would recommend never buying a used vehicle from this dealership. Whatever inspection they claim to execute prior to selling a used vehicle has to be equivalent to a once over by a blind mechanic. Which is why they push the extended warranty. I should've realized if they couldn't replace a $50 piece of broken trim what else did they ignore. read more
