The day after the vet, feeling much better and back to his snuggly self
    Kelsie P.

Yes, yes, yes. I called in the morning because my pit bull, Thor, was scratching his ear and shaking his head and crying all night. They were happy to give me an appointment just a few hours later. I walk in to all the staff giving him tons of treats and love which made me so happy! They were so welcoming. They even have a little white board at the front desk welcoming all the pets that have appointments that day with a list of all their names. So even though he was a brand new patient, and even though I had just called that morning, they were happy to do everything they could to take care of Thor. They even lightly sedated him (because of whoever cropped his ears, some dumb backyard breeder I'm sure, he has some trust issues when it comes to getting close to his ears or face) to give him the injection he needed and treatments he needed and let us leave and come back when it was over. Didn't even charge us for cleaning his ears and also clipped his nails for free. So they completely treated what was a bad yeast infection and also they sent us home with anti anxiety medication for times we need to bring him back so he's a little more calm. This was all the day of calling. They took him in for a good 3 hours at least and took the time to cater to his specific needs. Highly recommend!

Amazing!!! The staff is AWESOME. They are always welcoming, polite, and extremely helpful. It's the only vet I've been to that I believe genuinely cares about my cats. They have let me have same day appointments in times of need and always call to check in a day or two later to see how they're doing. Not only do they care about helping my cats, but they also acknowledge that veterinarian services can be pricey, and discuss the best options financially. 10/10 recommend!

I finally captured a feral cat that I had been working on for 1 1/2 yrs. I called three animal hospitals. This was the only one who took us in sight unseen. The level of customer service was the highest I have ever experienced period. They treated my feral with utmost care and consideration. He could not have been easy to handle. I know it was traumatic for my guy, yet they treated him like a king. Which made it all the easier to bring him home and into our lives. He is now adjusting to becoming a house cat. Thank you huge

RABBIT FRIENDLY! The staff at Riverview is very caring and professional. You can tell they are all animal people and are interested in your pet. Dr. Mahan is amazing and called me personally when my rabbit was very sick to talk about final arrangements, saying she would even stay late to help out however she could. Highly recommend!

Overall great experience, easy to make appointment, great staff and great pet care. Took the time to understand my aging pup and her needs.

We love the vets here and at House Vets for House Pets (same owner). Been taking our dog to see Dr…read moreKat for over 10 years, and she is very knowledgeable. The techs are also sweet and very caring towards our dog. All staff has been nothing but friendly, helpful, and thorough when it comes to the health and well-being of our dog. It is easy to get an appointment here or at their other location and at Rover the Rhine, they also have weekend hours. The only downside we've run into (and hence 4 and not 5 stars) is that our dog has gotten older and to get her medication anywhere outside of their preferred (usually more pricey) pharmacy is impossible. You can get a written Rx but no online pet pharmacy will take it because it's not faxed from the office (note: you can mail it in but if the script isn't given weeks in advance you run the risk of your dog going without medication for some time). They also refuse to call in the Rx so it's slightly annoying. Thus, if you are one who likes price shopping for your pet's medications, taking your pet here for care is not an option if you choose to use their vet services. It's really unfortunate because we love going here but since we suspect our pet will need more meds as she gets older, we might have to reconsider our options.

This review is only based on their veterinary services as I haven't used any of their other…read moreservices. Overall, the experience has been very good. My pomsky puppy has had several appointments so far to get all of his puppy vaccines, neutering and microchipping. The staff has always been very kind and responsive to any questions/concerns I had. Cost of services is consistent with industry standards and they take the appropriate safety precautions such as performing bloodwork to ensure your pet is safe to undergo anesthesia. That option isn't always provided at all clinics which is very concerning. I would recommend them to others and plan to have them continue to provide excellent care to my pup in the future!

We have been to MedVet numerous times (mostly for fosters) and they have been great (yes, long wait…read moretimes, but they take animals in order of importance and are emergency-based, which means they are VERY busy). Our last experience with MedVet was our foster, Wrigley. He had trouble from the start and eventually had to leave this world in the most humane, peaceful manner. After that, we brought in our 15 year old dog who was having issues standing and crying all night (in spite of his pain meds). Our vet wasn't available (we love them as well) so we brought him to the best place we know. I cannot say enough on how nice and understanding everyone is...one of the initial ladies had tears in her eyes when I broke down after deciding to end our boy's suffering. They were amazing from start to finish. They set us up in a private room and we met with their personnel who went over the procedure with us. They had nice girlsl who took him (he went willingly which was a sign of trust) to the back and gave him love and treats (their love for animals is apparent). The moment arrived when we had to say goodbye to our boy of 15 years. The vet was amazing and the staff was incredible. While I don't wish a death on anyone, I realize it happens. This is one of the best places to go to for end-of-life issues if your vet is unavailable. It is CLEAR the people here (front desk, assistant and vets) care about these animals.

Extremely disappointing and stressful experience during an emergency We brought my son's cat to MedVet in the middle of the night during an emergency, after speaking with her regular vet and being told she urgently needed IV fluids. We arrived expecting emergency care. We were there for over two hours, and during that time, no treatment was provided--even though they agreed she needed care. Instead, the focus felt overwhelmingly centered on cost. The pattern was repetitive: an assessment, followed by "here's what we would like to do, but here's the cost," over and over. We had already confirmed we would pay and had signed the paperwork, yet the constant cost discussions delayed care to the point that I finally asked them to stop. This process was incredibly stressful, especially for my son, who was simply desperate to get his cat the treatment she needed. Ultimately, they decided to give her fluids and keep her overnight so another vet could treat her in the morning. Tragically, she passed away. I understand that veterinary care is expensive and that transparency matters--but in an emergency setting, urgency and compassion should come first. Based on our experience, I would only use MetVet as an absolute last resort. There are other emergency veterinary options in the area that provide far better care and communication during crisis situations. Edited because I had a typo in the name of the clinic. This is the MedVet in Eastgate on Red Bank Road.
