I was so lucky to find Dr. Angela Lueck - through Yelp no less - a few years ago. She is very knowledgeable not just about teeth but how your oral health might be affected by or might be affecting other parts of your health. She's very thorough and honest. I had another dentist tell me I had a cavity and Dr. Lueck determined that I in fact did not have a cavity but my filling would need to be replaced to cover the gap between my teeth which would avoid breaking the enamel on my second tooth - something that should be avoided if possible. She also took my breathing problems seriously and gave me an excellent referral to an ENT which has changed my quality of life drastically for the better. She even prepared a report for me to give to the ENT so I could go informed and speaking the same "doctor" language with the issues she saw, which likely saved me time and added clarity to the ENT. I've referred other friends to her who have been equally as satisfied. She is not only highly competent and intelligent, but really great at communicating with patients, which at times it can be hard to find a doctor who does both. This is what health care should look like. So grateful to her and her team. read more

I, a RUSH LIMBAUGH ditto-head, was **cancelled** by Riverwalk Dentistry. Hearing-impaired ditto-heads, beware! In January 2022 I went for a schedule dental cleaning at the Water Street location. I followed safety protocols and asked my hygienist how much longer we might expect the mask mandate to continue. Who could I call/contact to register my concerns? The hygienist responded and accommodated my need to lip read by donning a plastic shield over her face. However, she was completely patronizing and extremely loud so that others in the office heard her. It was embarrassing, I'm hearing-handicapped, not deaf. After at least 10 minutes of that, she finally commenced to clean my teeth. I did schedule my next exam for May 11, 2022, but that was later cancelled by the dental team. I only learned that it was cancelled when I called yesterday to confirm the appointment. I was told there was no appointment and did I receive a letter in January? I figured out at least one of the Riverwalk envelopes in my mailbox was that letter telling me I was no longer welcome at Riverwalk Dentistry (the rest were receipts for payment). When I asked what the Riverwalk receptionist on the phone what happened, I was told it had do with what occured in January. So now I must find another dentist. Lesson learned: hearing-impaired individuals, be careful. You will likely be accommodated so you can lip read BUT don't ask questions about safety protocols and mandatory face masks. You too might find yourself cancelled. read more

MK I'm having communication problems w/them also.I have a hidden disabilities.I haven't gotten to them yet as after 2 calls with two different office people they real don't like to answer questions.They are not specific enough in their answers to render Trust in them.How one says something triggers a really awful tesponse in one of my disabilites.They also are really not clear about payment.On some sites they say takes all insurances.Not true.Also when I was trying to find out how a third party could pay in $ there was one of their pauses of dead air.I now retired for years but worked w/the public mostly in sales found it greatly ignorant and upsetting that they couldn't handle a simple question/exchange.I On other sights they say only except cash upfront at time of visit? When I asked can't you send a bill and we will pay it? Another segment of dead air ensued.It shouldn't be that hard to get info you're going to give money to.I was so upset and sad at their lace of customer service that I had a rare rare swelling in my legs that I had to cancel my first appt.My first appt was at 2:45 which is totally opposite of ny retired life.I wish they had later hours.When I told them this for the next appt.they gave ne an earlier.1:45.Couldn't make that either.I called at them 6a.m. to cancel and also put a note on their make an apt.page where they hadn't read a previous note.I also said I'm not going call you back.Told them what my disability was and if they could accommodate me w/later 3,4,5 apptI didn't know if they would get any of the messages b/c I was told by the 2nd office call she hadn't gotten to her voice mail yet.Real good buisness practices.In response I got a long post w/photos and a strong but subversive and confusing text which basically confirmed they don't answered questions definitely not from anyone beyond the mentality of a high school cheerleader.Too much forced fun and overly positive and not enough mental floss on their social sites to make them trust worthy.Even had a passage in the long email that said first we do this first we don't do cosmetic concerns reposition of teeth and joint problems Follow by we do the same things said didn't do.I think what they meant to say is we only will discuss things after we do all the x-rays initial tests.Could be problematic as if we want to go to a another dentist will get the x-rays or will they take their Word Salad Gaslighting need for Control and say no?Do you they are trying to get rid of me? read more

Things I enjoy more than going to the dentist: *A sharp stick in the eye *A really long car ride with that coworker that won't ever shut up *Finding a big centipede in my bathroom *Nails on a chalkboard/country music (my ears can't tell the difference) *A Guy Fieri/Rachel Ray marathon on the Food Network *Basically, anything Alas, I broke a tooth & had no choice but to head in. I started going to Riverwalk Dentistry a long time ago because I worked in the building and I keep going now because the dentists & staff are truly awesome. They've got free valet parking (pull in by the Tazino's), an office with gorgeous views of downtown & the river and even TV's mounted at every exam bed to distract you during procedures. Everything is spotless and the staff really does care about making your experience a good one. I see Dr Gapson & he's a great guy - he always remembers that Mister & I like to travel and he's patient with my irrational dentistry fears (we are talking literally shaking like a leaf here). At the end of the appointment, I left with a temp crown and a feeling of shame for being so uptight about a procedure that ended up being (relatively) painless. If you're looking for a new dentist, you really can't do better than Riverwalk. read more

I am throughly impressed with this dental office! From the office assistants to the dentists - Alberto, Jocelyn, Dr. Lueck and Maureen - all A++++ experience. They are so thorough, nice, extremely knowledgeable and go above and beyond. My visit felt like an experience instead of a transaction. Dr. Lueck took the time to check over everything from how I breathe, lymph nodes, my tongue, etc. She was very detailed and made sure to really explain everything to me. She is about getting to the root of the problem instead of slapping a band-aid on an issue. I would HIGHLY recommend her and this office! read more

At Riverwalk Dentistry I find an outstanding team of professionals in every regards, from the receptionist to the dentist, Dr. Angela Lueck, whom I've found to be highly skillful, caring and thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of dentistry, including preventive dentistry. She's provided me with detailed techniques for preventing cavities, improving gum issues, etc . I doubt there 's another dentist in Milw that compares. Maybe that's why she was elected as a leader for the Milw professional group of dentists. Also want to comment on Andrea, my dental hygienist, who's phenomenal in cleaning, is very well versed on preventive techniques, to augment Dr. Lueck's cavity prevention directions. I barely feel a thing as she's so skillful and remembers details of my dental issues. What also amazes me is how everyone at Riverwalk seems to love their careers; you will never find greater harmony in a professional team. Everyone gets along so well. They genuinely radiate congeniality with patients and each other. I've recommended Riverwalk to many who've always been just as pleased with their level of practice. Years back when I brought my 90 year old mom there with dementia, the care and compassion was again superior. When she was in late 80s I had taken her to 3 different dentists who ALL said Mom needed a procedure with her plates, etc. that would cost around $5000. When I brought her to Riverwalk, a procedure was done for less than $1500! I will never forget how Riverwalk told us it was unnecessary to spend that amount for a woman her age. They solved the problem for $4000 less dollars and it worked out beautifully for Mom. Hard to believe but true. Need I say more. I feel the team at Riverwalk has been a Blessing for me and my family. read more

The people here are top notch . . . the office administrators, assistants, technicians, hygienists and dentists. They are competent, efficient, courteous, caring and pleasant. Time for an update! It's been over 8 years since my initial review and while many things have changed, the five stars remain. Sadly, Riverwalk lost one its founders last year, Dr Gapson. He was an amazing dentist and a great guy. He will be missed. Fortunately for us patients, Dr. Sawatzke has joined the practice. I've had several general appointments with her and one filling. She is very thorough and has a great demeanor for talking with patients and explaining what is happening. As saddened as I was about losing Dr. Gapson, I'm not going anywhere because Dr. Sawatzke has convinced me that I will continue to receive the same level of dental care. My dental hygienist, Karen, is great as is the office staff. Riverwalk still validates parking at the valet for Gold's Gym, so downtown parking is never a problem. I've been a patient here for nearly 20 years, and thanks to them, I'm still smiling! read more

I began seeing Dr Lueck about 8-9 years ago, after my husband (who surely was tired of me complaining about my previous dentist and his creepy office space!) recommended her. What a breath of fresh air Dr Lueck and her entire office were! The office is bright and cheery, with awesome views of downtown Milwaukee, and complimentary valet parking. Our go-to dental hygienist, Karen, has the softest touch and somehow makes scraping plaque off my teeth an absolutely painless process. And Dr Lueck is so nice and knowledgeable and truly skilled. Years ago I saw her for some cosmetic dentistry - she used some composite fillings to fix a chipped tooth and close a few spaces in between my teeth. The result was beautiful! From Angie at the front desk to Dr. Lueck's skilled clinical assistants, the whole team provides an awesome experience start to finish. I just had a longer appointment for some fairly extensive repairs needed, and I was completely 100% comfortable the entire appointment. In fact, with the pleasant banter between Dr. and assistant, the time flew by! I have been a patient here for over 45 years. Ever since the lead dentist passed away 2 years ago, the place is cold, pompous staff, and they recently missed my diagnosis. I indicated I was going to change my dentist and will need my records transferred, the office manager asked if I could actually find a qualified dentist. I said yes, and she gave me a hmmm. Never going back. There are several great, qualified dentists in Milwaukee. read more

I have been a patient of this Dental Practice for about 50 years, back to the days when it was in the Goldsmith Building across from the Pfister Hotel and it was owned by Dr. Krause. Yesterday, I was introduced to Abbey, the new Hygienist. She did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth and giving me tips on how I could improve the way I take care of them. In the 45 years I've been receiving adult dental care, Riverwalk Dentistry is by far the best practice I've worked with. I've been a patient there for 20 years and every single visit has been a great experience. Each person on the staff is a joy to work with. They're all friendly, caring, patient, thorough, and highly skilled at their craft. Dr. Sawatzke became my dentist following Dr. Gapson and she is absolutely amazing. I started with her just as I was entering a chapter of time whereby I needed a series of replacement fillings/crowns so I've had a number of appointments off of which to judge her skills. She is a meticulous master who never rushes her work and the outcome has always been positive. Plus she calls me a day or two after each procedure to make sure I'm doing okay and don't have any questions or concerns!! I never had a dentist do that before but this is what you can expect from this practice. And if that's not enough, there's also paid valet parking at the base of the building and extraordinary protocols to protect against covid-19. (I feel safer in their offices than anywhere else I've been during this pandemic.) I look forward to being a patient of Riverwalk Dentistry for many years to come. read more
