This is a super location and a really cute motel with a fantastic café inside of it. The manager at the front desk was both incredibly hospitable and very accommodating as we were running late for a wedding so he went and had our folio filled out inside of our room and gave us the key code so we can go directly to our room and be gone in five minutes. We had a nice big screen TV everything was done very artistically super clean we were in the lavender room each room is named after a spice and I would imagine each room has the special artistic touch that our sad. The room is small which is fine but it was super comfortable had a good size refrigerator a Keurig machine which had excellent coffee in the morning had an excellent air conditioner which was important since it was 95° in May. The shampoos and conditioners we're excellent and on the television they have literally every app from Netflix to Disney to Roku that you can imagine. Leaving the room are manicured lawns a special area to sit they are very much dog lovers you can tell and everyone with dogs were very responsible. We walked about 50 feet to the café that's run by an Alaskan woman with the most tremendous cinnamon rolls you've ever seen in the pastry case but we chose the sticky buns which were covered with walnuts and we're indeed the best we've ever had. Incidentally are just across the street from A cute Riverfront Park of which it's named and just minutes from all the shops in the cute town of Chelan which has a very rustic historic flavor to it started like going back in time. The price of the hotel was reasonable and as a result we will be back rather than spending the ridiculous fees that many of the Airbnb and VRBO's are charging now especially once you factor in all their cleaning fees. So come to the Riverfront Inn and make sure you go to the adjoining café. read more

I had a reservation for June 18 for one night. Plans changed and I cancelled at the end of May. I paid the cancellation fee through the link they provided. Received my receipt on June 1. When I emailed and asked about when the refund would occur they played dumb and said they had t received it but to email them back. I emailed them back with the confirmation receipt showing I cancelled. No response. I emailed several more times and even sent several messages via FaceBook. No answer. Finally disputed with credit card company and waiting to hear back. It's sad when you have proof and they still don't honor their own policies. Very poor customer service. read more

We love small businesses especially restaurants and the Riverwatch was a real treat. Ran by a mother and two or three of her daughters that are so sweet. Our breakfast was delicious but the the Cappuccino was such a treat. The young barista knows how to make coffee. Oh and did I mention the bakery/ Pastry counter. Honestly, this is my family's first time staying at little inn on our vacation. We have always been a fan of Hyatt and the Starwood, so I didn't want to expect too much of staying here. When looking for a stay in the area, this inn was able to accommodate a night stay without minimum stay requirement in the summer. Upon arrival, the check in was easy. Their reception desk is right inside their restaurant. We were given actual keys instead of key card. The room is definitely not chain hotel grade but it was clean, spacious enough for our family of 4 and with strong AC. It has a microwave, decent size of refrigerator, double kitchen sinks and a dining that sits 4. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. A little lack of natural lights but we were out most of our day. We like that the parking was right outside of our Sage room. We tried the sandwiches in their cafe, not bad. read more

I just had my first stay here last weekend. I've stayed all around Chelan and this in my opinion was perfect if your traveling alone which I was . It's like having your own little studio apt right in the middle of everywhere u want to be hanging out in town . So if u wanna venture out in the night and have some dinner and drinks u can walk to everything. My room was very nice and was very well set up for my stay . My bed was super comfy and the shower was pretty big for a smaller room . U can sit in there if u just wanna relax and let the water run down on u for a bit . I did . Also the outside little courtyard out my front door was nice and peaceful and they have a fire pit u can light up and hang out at . I booked over the phone pretty last minute for a wedding we were coming into town for. The lady on the phone was extremely nice and we looked forward to our stay. When we arrived everyone was VERY nice even chatted with us about best ways for us to get to and from the wedding (Ubers are rare). They helped us find a taxi service near by. We stayed in a double queen which had a ton of space and was extremely clean. We've traveled a bit and though I wouldn't say this hotel was "fancy" it definitely was cozy, we felt right at home in our space! The beds were so comfortable, shower has great pressure, lots of towels for washing. We appreciated the fridge for our leftovers and we even went for a late night walk to the water for awhile which was maybe a 1 minute walk from the hotel! In the morning we grabbed breakfast nearby which was fantastic and checked out. We already look forward to booking this hotel again for the winter festival and for any future dates! We've told all our friends who visit to stay here as well. Thank you for such a great experience during such a stressful time. read more

I believe I went here on a 2 night stay that I got with a Livingsocial coupon and we went when it was probably one of the most treacherous times to go to Chelan as the roads were major icy and there was a gentle coating of snow on the ground wherever you looked. Oddly enough, Chelan seems to be very quiet in the off season so in a way it was a perfect time to stay here as the room was very warm and cozy and perfect for relaxation. When we arrived, the guy at the reception desk was very friendly and had me sign a few docs and then handed me the key. It wasn't a plastic card with some electronic info captured on it, it was an actual key which surprised yet delighted me at how it played well with the somewhat modern yet rustic "hippie" kind of feel. There is plenty of parking in an around the inn and it's right across the street from the Chelan Riverwalk just in case you want to wake up and take a run around the riverwalk or skip down to the downtown to grab a warm breakfast. They actually have a cafe on-site anyway so you actually don't have to go far to get a good meal. Anyway, the room was perfect for our party of three. I was actually really surprised because it had a sink and refrigerator and microwave. I didn't know it was going to have that but I guess with the crowd that comes to Chelan, it must be expected. Everything seemed to have it's place and it was super clean. Big screen TV for watching all my stories...just kidding I think we actually settled on watching "Cheaters" & then "Dr. Phil" (two shows I never watch) for a few hours after we were done galavanting around the town. I found the smallness of the room just perfect. The bathroom was not overly elaborate or huge. The beds weren't too big or overly firm or soft. The pillows needed a little work as they were flat as a bag of potato chips with the crumbs left in it, but I'm not hatin'. One other thing I found odd was that there was no sink in the bathroom so you have to come out of the bathroom with dirty hands and use the general purpose sink that you may be using for your dishes. I'm just glad I was able to spend a wonderful time with some of my best friends in Chelan from the time we got there to the time we got back to the hotel and just be able to come back to such a warm and inviting room with the basic amenities of home. I paid $99 for a 2 night stay & it was well worth the money in my eyes. read more

Staying here over the 4th of July weekend and it's a nice, cozy place - more Bed & Breakfast than Hotel but the staff is very friendly and the accommodations are comfy. Check in went smoothly and our room was clean; it's very warm so we asked for a fan and was given a portable fan for our use - very helpful. There is a nice reading spot in the lobby with books for all; nice visitors guides to find something to do in and around the area. Very close to the park and lake (no swimming spot but it is a very short drive). Nice little Farmer's market outside on Thursday's - free music, great local fruits & veggies, fresh pastries. Didn't expect a whole lot and was pleasantly surprised to find a quaint, cozy place to enjoy a long weekend with the family. Would come again if we are in the area. read more

Booking I can't remember if I was directed to the booking site from the Inn's website or via my search but, buyer beware! hotelvalues.com added almost 50% of the listed room price in taxes, resort fees, cleaning fees, other fees and booking fees. There was a resort fee of $5.00/ day. The Riverwalk Inn is not a resort. Check-in Check-in is listed as 3pm. We arrived at 2:30 and the receptionist told me she was just about to call a third party for my number because they didn't have it. They need to take that up with the booking service. I got the strong impression that I was inconveniencing her for being on time. The Room My first impression of the room was the odor. It smelt like musty chemical. The room was clean so maybe the smell was caused by what ever they used for cleaning. My second impression was that they tried to use the limited space well, you can see some of the pictures that others have taken. We found that with the suitcase rack unfolded and the folding metal chair holding the five pillows from the bed, there wasn't a lot of room to get around. The room had tile floors, the bathroom, which was separated from the main room by a pocket door, had an attractive shower. The bed could have been better. The mattress was very soft and had a foam pad on top. It wasn't very good for my wife who has arthritis. The next morning I wanted to check on the availability of a room with a firmer mattress but the reception was closed. Owing to forest fires on the way home we decided to check out and use the time making a detour. Pros The location is great. The Inn is adjacent to the park, the Farmers Market, and is only one block from the main shopping street. I would say the cafe is also a plus but it wasn't open during my visit. Cons The buildings are old. Parking is on the street and may be a problem during the Farmers Market. Street sounds are very noticeable. read more

We've stayed at this place a few times over the last few years. Its advantage is that it's right in town and next to a great trail loop that runs along a stream. However, each year in the past few, this place has been going downhill. It used to always be "quaint", which means you sometimes have to put up with some funkiness. However, when we arrived, the grounds had 1' high dandelions and some hanging planters that were screaming out for water. Outside stairs had nails sticking up and the stairs were in dire need of a paint job. Outdoor chairs were dirty. Basically, it looked like maintenance of the place has really fallen off and it's difficult to know if anyone really cares. This year, the nightly rate jumped about 60% over last year's rate for the same room. So, the prices have jumped up significantly without any visible result of where the money's going. The adjoining restaurant, which gives 10% off your bill if you stay at the hotel, has even gone downhill which is really a bummer. Anyways, time to look at other places next year read more

What a lovely, homey place to stay! I heard it was under new ownership, and they and their staff couldn't be more friendly or welcoming. We got the Jade rooms - two rooms, each with their own toilets with a shower connecting them (3 beds total). Nothing fancy - but clean, and the beds were comfortable. Oh, and to wake up to the smell of the BEST cinnamon rolls baking is absolutely wonderful! They serve the most popular breakfast in town in their little cafe, but get there early to avoid a long line! read more

Stayed here over Fourth of July weekend. A lovely inn. I loved the home like atmosphere. The family that runs the inn also has a small bakery which offers complimentary breakfast in the morning. I recommend the apple scones, they're yummy! The room itself was clean and tidy. We had two beds and were given a third air bed. It came with a fridge which was nice for our beer, water, and cheese. Location-wise, it's only about a block away from the main street which is Woodin Ave. I have to say the best thing was Scott and his family, they were all very welcoming and friendly. We stayed at the inn after a long weekend backpack trip. We were looking for a reasonably priced, clean and locally run establishment and that is exactly what we found. Our room was simply furnished, but really REALLY clean and quite homey. The inn is along the river and next to a park which was good for the kids to run around in. Don't take the 3 star rating as a bad thing. I really enjoyed our stay here and will likely stay again. We needed somewhere to stash our stuff and sleep while we visited family in Chelan and this worked out perfectly. This is a no frills inn. Great place to stop while on the road, or just to rest your head. I do have a few pros and cons I'd like to share with people considering staying here. Our room was a queen bedroom in the main house upstairs. Unfortunately, being in the main house means you hear everything everyone else is doing in their rooms. Get ear plugs even if you're not a light sleeper. Our room was small but suited us fine, clean and tidy, nice bathroom. The room didn't appear to have AC or a fan, which would have been helpful as it was a bit stuffy when we showed up. Leaving the window open in April did the trick, but I imagine it would get very uncomfortable in the summer. They must have AC/fans, we just must not have seen them or figured it out (we really looked everywhere though...). Once we settled in for the night, it seemed everyone else staying at the inn was up all night - I kept waking up to slamming doors. The main door off the back slams shut every time someone comes or goes. The hallway has a communal fridge, hot pot, and instant coffee, sugar - which is nice. However, the guests staying across the hall from us turned the hallway into their personal space every morning at 6AM. So every morning we heard a 6 year old squealing, running, and playing in the hallway, while the mother made coffee, all the while with their room door open and the TV news on. It was quite rude... but we just tried to ignore it. Other than the slamming doors and the rude guests across the hall, it was quiet. It was lovely being near the park. Although there is no lake access, the park is nice. The loop around the water is about one mile, very lovely to jog around - I recommend it! It's fun staying right in Chelan downtown, walking distance to everything - and for those who know Chelan, there isn't too much to see so it doesn't take too long We unfortunately arrived one week before the café was set to open, I look forward to staying at the Riverwalk again and enjoying breakfast in the café. I would imagine the café area may be a bit nosey for those who are staying in the rooms in the main house (since the café is just downstairs). Over all we had a nice stay here! read more

Me and my family stayed here last weekend and had such a good time! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We love bringing our dogs and it's so nice that they offer pet friendly rooms. This hotel is in such a great location walking distance to everything and is so adorable! We ate breakfast at the cafe one morning and it was delicious, they also have so many delicious pastries that I went back for the next morning and the staff greeted me by name and seemed so cheerful which is nice to see in the morning! We stayed here on our drive through to the north cascades. A great central location right next to the park. The lodging was adequate. Room was small, quaint, and comfortable. Nothing fancy by any means, but adequate and lots of beautiful flowers around. What really made this place stand out, 5stars... Was their breakfast. Wow, the breakfast was outstanding. We had an omelette with chicken and it was all organic locally sourced ingredients and you can tell! The hot sauce on the tables is one of the most delicious condiments I've ever had. Stayed here two nights mid-May, 2014. It was OK but the standard room rates seemed high (I booked through Priceline, got about 40% off); if I had to pay much more than $100 per night I'd stay someplace else. I've stayed in a lot of hostels and that's what Riverwalk reminded me of. There's a central building, two stories, with registration - "living room" - restaurant downstairs and apparently a manager's apartment upstairs. I didn't try the restaurant (closed when I was there, off-season and mid-week) but the menu looked good, bit of a "nature cafe", very informal and a touch rustic. On two sides of the main building are linear one-story buildings with five rooms each; instead of numbers the rooms have names: Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, etc etc. I got the impression this business was built many years ago, recently remodeled. Not a complaint, just an observation. My overall impression was "funky". If you like something a little off-beat you might love Lakeshore; if you prefer modern and roomy you'll be happier someplace else. Positives: GREAT location! A block from the center of town, across the street from a large grassy park fronting Lake Chelan. Plenty of on-street parking a few feet from my room. Small'ish but clean rooms. Very nice coffee setup in the room. Some patio chairs and tables outside the rooms, great places to sit with a glass of wine at day's end. Negatives: my room had a slight odor of mildew, which stayed with my clothes after I checked out. The couple next door said their room had no odor, so ??? Maybe a crawlspace issue, if the building has a crawlspace. The room was a little smaller than usual, perhaps because it's an older place? Bed was softer than I like, but I like really firm mattresses. The desk clerk locked up and left about 7pm, so make sure you get your questions answered, get whatever you need, when you check in. I don't think this would be a good place with kids. As above the rooms are somewhat small, the entire property a little "cramped" but not bothersome. Certainly not a place to run around screaming and laughing. But there is the very nice park right across the street. Probably best for singles or couples. I enjoy funky. I'd give it 4 stars if there was no odor (your room may vary...); 5 stars if their base rate was somewhat lower. read more

I just came back from Lake Chelan yesterday afternoon. We initially decided on a much longer trip to California, but my husband could not arrange his work schedule so we decided to have a getaway weekend to Chelan. I mentioned this because it was such a short notice, everywhere I looked at was either sold out or overpriced! I was very happy to find a room at Riverwalk Inn, but honestly, I was skeptical about the place when I looked at their website & Yelp reviews. The pictures on their websites are not the most gracious pictures. I read on one of the older reviews that they did not have A/C in their rooms but a fan could be provided if needed... And also, whenever we made a trip to Chelan in the past, we always planned it ahead of time so we could rent out one of the rental-home with lake access or with hot tub and/or pool. I did request to check in a bit earlier than usual which could not be accommodated because the guests that stayed in our room did not want to check out early. This is totally acceptable cause it is peak season and everywhere is super busy with guests checking in and out back to back. Upon our arrival, we came to the front desk, the front desk guy was super nice and friendly, had us fill out paperwork and told us they would call when the room is ready. Since Riverwalk is right downtown, we drove a very short distance (2 minutes) to the Crepery restaurant for breakfast, walked around downtown, checked out the stores, and their farmer market. We were eager to freshen up so I called Riverwalk before they could call us, the front desk guy told us the room would be ready in 10 minutes since housekeeping is almost ready. My impression of the room when we arrived was, I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Each of their room has outside access (instead of being connected by a hallway, indoor). In front of my room (Sage) was an area w/ green lawn, and this is a pet-friendly hotel. The fact that we can just walk outside and have our pup take care of her business a few steps away from the room is wonder! They provided plenty of chairs & benches outside of your room. The room is not new or super grand. But housekeeping did a great job cleaning up, everything was neat and clean. They provided a lot of towels, bath soap, shampoo & lotion knowing that we were a party of 4, they even provided makeup remover for the ladies. There was a kettle, microwave, small fridge, some cups (the housekeeper clean it and covered it with plastic wrap to prevent the dust from getting in the cups, which I thought was super neat), bowls, plates, hair dryer, small heater in the bathroom and an AC unit!!! I was pleased. It's not the most luxury place you can find, but the location and the room was nice and perfect for a short weekend getaway at a very affordable price. Across the hotel is a small lake where you can walk in the morning or during sunset, grass field is perfect for a family picnic. From the hotel, you can access 2 main lake-front areas, 1 is no dog & alcohol permitted. And the other one is dog-friendly. This place also has an in-house cafe with outside seatings for dog owners. And their cafe's food is delicious! Staff is friendly and very helpful. I could not be happier about my stay. Definitely will recommend this place for my friends. Was in town to do bridal hair and makeup for a wedding and stayed here since it was right in town and easily accessible. Have been coming to Chelan for many years but this was my first time staying at the Riverwalk Inn. I was thoroughly surprised, this cute little hotel with attached cafe was clean, affordable and the cafe even offers 20% off for guests which is great! However.... we had a room with two beds that was supposed to be for 2 nights and also have late check in for 1pm. At 11am a woman came banging on our door saying we needed to be out and was not very friendly about it. After sorting everything out I spoke with a young girl named Cory who was absolutely wonderful! She kindly explained the misunderstanding and was apologetic. We ended up having to move into 2 new rooms. I recommend when booking to book the rooms on the outside and the ones above the cafe seem to be older and not as spacious or comfortable. read more

YOU ROCK! and then when I got there, what a nice room. Think cottage atmosphere. Nice location, great price, and great service. These folks were wonderful to deal with. I can't imagine this not being the best breakfast joint in town. The food is tremendously good and healthy at the same time. The Brew-mimosa (Beer and fresh squeezed orange juice) got me hooked. The inn itself is OK for simple-minded people looking for a simple, small, and clean place to stay. Depending on when you go, it my be very quiet, or it may be a little loud if there is a party going on outside late at night. Either way, we enjoyed it. It's located in a perfect spot that's near the lake, but also near downtown. Everything is in walking distance. The price is fantastic. Would stay and eat again! read more
