I came here a couple times. The first time to grab a quick bite before taking family photos and shortly soon after for afternoon tea. There is not a lot of parking on the street itself but there is a nearby lot that would be easier to manage getting a spot. I liked their almond croissant but the masala chai had too much milk and not enough chai. The decor is super cute, especially for the afternoon tea! We thoroughly enjoyed most of the spread except the texture and flavor of the macarons could use some improvement. The teapots had unlimited refills (I think?) and all the options sounded so good! It was about $30/person and I think that was more than fair. We saw a group with a couple of women and young girls with them who were also doing a tea party! I should wait until tomorrow to write this because I'm definitely coming back. I needed to find a comfortable and quiet place to work for a few hours while my son was at a nearby camp. Was 35 minute drive to get here. This place is easy to find- though if you're not armed with a handicap placard that can get you a spot right out front- you should just park in the big open lot at the end of this street. Don't worry it's less than a block away. The service is chill and efficient. They'll warm up your pastry selection for you. If you can stay and enjoy things on a plate and in a mug, you won't regret it. I had the Brunch Pocket. Yes, just the name makes you want it, right!? It's a cheesy croissant with bacon, turkey, and egg inside! Uhhhh, YUMMY! It's a bit flaky though, so be prepared to make a mess. My beverage of choice today was the Silk Mocha Latte. Stepped into this coffee shop before started some work and I was in awe. It is so cute, clean, and calming! I ordered the silk moch latte with almond milk. I enjoyed my coffee, nothing too super duper special. However it was a good choice. I tried the rainbow bagel and was surprised. It has a fruity tasty. This is a really cute little coffee shop in Georgetown that offers an afternoon tea! I brought my mom here for her and my birthday and got to enjoy two pots of really nice loose-leaf tea (a blue jasmine and a white peach tea) with plentiful pastries and desserts and tea sandwiches. It really felt hearty and filling but also very well-made, flavorful treats. The scones were one of the highlights for me - not too sweet but nice and crumbly and moist. The only thing I was missing was some clotted cream or jam to go with the scones! Both our teas did get bitter so I would have liked them to be pre-steeped and strained before they got to the table so they didn't continue to steep if we took our time with the tea. Other than these minor details, I highly recommend this afternoon tea at a great price. The service was wonderful, and super friendly and helpful. Parking/access challenges since 2 box food delivery trucks were offloading. Parking is very limited so luckily we carpooled and arrived before other stores opened. Somewhat convenient for nearby condos and apartments. Parking garage a few blocks away near Sheraton. We opted to eat in. Called a day ahead since there were 6 of us and seating limited. No reply or reserved space. Able to put tables together when another customer left. Brewed coffee was strong but very good. 1 person behind the counter taking orders and making the coffee drinks so it took time to get your order. Someone else in the kitchen preparing plates. Several of my friends had an almond croissant which looked very good and they were pleased. The food was delivered to the table on dishes. Their specialty drinks and breakfast sandwiches took some time to arrive. My cranberry bagel w cream cheese had good texture and size. Expected more flavor but very few cranberries. I hosted my friend's baby sprinkle at Rivery Coffeehouse & Desserts. Rivery offers an afternoon tea with savory + sweet treats, a pot of tea per person, and a glass of sparkling wine for $39 per person which is a reasonable price compared to other high tea options in Austin. We did an afternoon tea party for the sprinkle, and the staff at Rivery went above and beyond for us. They set up a long table on the side of the restaurant that they blocked off for our party's exclusive use. They also decorated the table beautifully with fresh flowers. I have to be honest. I wish that I read the reviews before coming in here. I kind of just stopped by because I was in the area and had a craving for a bagel as well as a coffee. The girl working there did not look like she wanted to be there at all that day. She was the only one working also so it did take a little while to get my croissant breakfast sandwich, fruit and bagel with cream cheese. The coffee was also very expensive. I got a Dubai chocolate coffee and then one of their other lattes which was a lot better. The Dubai chocolate was not good at all and I think it was almost $9. Definitely not something that I would recommend to anyone. The bagel was stamp and it was toasted but kind of crumbly and falling apart and she did not put the cream cheese on it. I was very disappointed. I wish I went to someplace like Einstein Brothers because they definitely have better bagels. The croissant breakfast sandwich was fine but it was thrown in there with the fruit which made the fruit warmed up and it was just very messy and kind of gross and that all cost me almost $40. So it is a very cute spot and it isn't a really nice shopping center area, but I just think they need to get their act together a little better hire somebody that is a better barista has better customer service. Their food definitely needs to improve for that cost. Again, I'm not sure what the rent is on that place and I'm sure it will continue to do good, but I hope somebody's reading these because it does have potential to be a lot better of an experience. read more

When ordering, the single lady working there seemed to have a bad attitude. The food was decent, just a little overpriced. The coffee was sooo sweet and like a gridy texture somehow. My friend had a strawberry Italian soda, no strawberry flavor, just bubbly milk pretty much. she waited for such a long time at the front of the line to try and get a different drink, but she was never helped as well as everyone else in line, they all ended up leaving un-helped. The Iced Rivery Matcha was a good drink alone as far as taste, but it did not really taste like matcha. It was overly milky which overpowered the potential for the matcha flavor so it was a little disappointing. VIBES Quickly glancing, there are about 7 tables with seating for maybe 22 people. The design is modern and decently clean. There are some parts that look like they could be cleaned better in the interior, however, the tables are clean. There is also seating available outside. Great place to study or catch up with friends, just a little on the smaller side. SERVICE Serivce was nice. This spot is located in a quaint, shady spot, nestled in Georgetown's shopping centers. The customer service is pleasant, and the bagel was delivered in a timely manner. The bagel was fresh, and so was the cream cheese inside. The kombucha was a change from the normal flavors seen around town. I wanted something sweet, but it was too close to finishing dinner at Scratch Kitchen! I walked in to Rivery Coffee and started to go for my usual white chocolate, coconut, pecan cookie but quickly decided against it when I realized there were beautiful, decadent, chocolate croissants that looked like they had come from the streets of Paris. Let me begin by saying this isn't a one off complaint from a random customer. I've been coming here for 3+ years. I've spent thousands of dollars here on coffee and pastries. Cold brew hasn't been available for a month straight now. It's unbelievable. It's still on the menu. Why not just take it off the menu? Every time I ask about it the employees are clueless. They blame a person (whom I don't know) who is supposed to be making it but hasn't made it in a month? Makes no sense whatsoever. Having brewed cold brew myself at home, it's literally the easiest thing to make. Profit margins are great on it, too. Talk about failed and missed opportunity while forcing a patron away. So me and a friend drove from Austin to this place. We were excited to try something new. The excitement was there until we walk in. For starters the location is very small and the chairs and tables were cheap, thin, and wobbly. We moved spots 3 times. I ordered a bagel club and asked if I could pay extra to have some of the breakfast potatoes and when the girl from the back said "let me check if we have enough" I should've known to let it go. The lady from the back comes back and says it's fine (mind you these potatoes come on or with two other sandwiches so I thought I'd ask. If they had no sorry I would chosen something else) so I go ahead and order the breakfast potatoes, an Ice caramel latte with whole milk, a gluten free chocolate crunch muffin, cream puff, and a soco ginger beer from the fridge. We ordered this for at 11:07am after we find seating my friends bagel arrived and she started eating she liked it very much. Then her coffee comes and the barista ask what kind of creamer she'd like and my friend answered half and half ( it never came but turns out the coffee was good enough to enjoy black) I got my bagel but I wanted to wait to eat my breakfast potatoes and I got my ice coffee. My ice coffee came and this is around 11:20 all is well not more than 3-5 ppl in the place at one time. Then my friend wanted more coffee to which I said let me ask about our pastries too they are fully cooked so aside from being busy in that moment I wasn't sure why we haven't received them yet. She gave my friend a refill and got us our pastries to which I bring up the breakfast potatoes again and she said I should've gotten them already. The time is 12:10 and I finally got a Togo box of cold never cooked potatoes honestly the audacity. I feel waiting for an hour and only asking twice for potatoes that were conked yesterday and paying $40 for cold case food and coffee was more than understanding. I hate tipping culture that ask for tip before hand or you pay for food before you receive it because I still would've tipped the barista she was nice the working hard the whole time. The lady in the back putting cold cuts and smeared cheese on a bread that cooks in a toaster needed to refund those potatoes and not even tarnish the companies name with bad service than to give out cold leftovers So had that this place looks cute but a chipped up thin paint job, dead flowers in a dirty vase, mediocre cold ase food and bad service will keep my away and I hope it does for you too. Again the two stars are only for the barista who was really nice. But location, size, quality, price, and service gets a -1 stars. read more

A nice trendily styled coffee shop! It's a small space, but there is room to sit outside which I prefer. The service here is excellent, the baristas are always very friendly, and I appreciated that one of the two on staff knew what I meant when I asked for a "dirty chai" because a few people waiting even asked me what it was. The chai tea here is less spiced than I expected but deliciously smooth, and I would buy their espresso in bottles so I could have it at home! When in Rome, as they say, we also bought a box of pastries and treats. Two butter croissants, two chocolate croissants, an assortment of muffins and bagels, and I splurged on some macarons because I have no self-control when it comes to them. Everything we got was excellent, but I would recommend heating the butter croissants a little before eating. When we got our food it was overcooked and under cooked at the same time. The potatoes (undercooked) tasted like they came out of the frozen section from HEB. The bacon was cheap and microwaved. The eggs were spongy and also tasted like they were microwaved. I couldn't eat any of it. The muffins were dried out. The bagels were decent. Definitely not the "best ny bagels in town". Galentine's Tea, what an amazing experience. The table was decorated to the nines with hearts, balloons and cute items. The tea service was complete with savory and sweet treats. The tea menu offered a little bit of everything - black, green, oolong with variety of flavors. We had dedicated service.
