This is actually Harbor City Golf Course. It is City of Melbourne owned and has improved grass from years past. The fairways range from narrow to broad and excellent grass to sandy. There is a lot of water, though less than many other Brevard County area courses. They've done a lot of work on the greens, which are spacious and rolling, with excellently kept grass, providing ample opportunity for fade, draw reading of longer putts. It is a public course so the y greens do not always have repaired ball impact divots, nor fairway divot sanding. All carts have plenty of sand onboard to do so on fairways. The course has a nice driving range which is currently being upgraded and remains open. There are four tees of various distances on each hole providing opportunities to increase and decrease challenge levels, with both left and right doglegs. Finally, as a City owned course, fees are reasonable. I play Harbor City usually twice a week. There is a military veterans group each Sunday morning playing card draw-team, best ball scramble. read more

This course, though usually played pretty quickly is one of my favorites in the area. The greens are incredible and the ball rolls great, the chipping greens are very aesthetic and clean. The employee are very nice people and always helpful (as long as you have your own clubs). My one down side is the fairways are very full of sand and the balls don't roll as well as you'd ever like. read more

Mallards has Great staff and cheap range and awesome chipping area with bad grass so bad putting range. Love the people and the design but just dreadful condition. For the grass(or should i say dirt) condition, this course should be free. read more

Awful course management and maintenance. The clubhouse staff was nice but the course is in awful shape with uncut grass, and trash and storm debris everywhere. Just completed a round at this course and it wasn't crowded and it still took more than four hours to complete a round as a single player. The storm blew through, around us a week ago and they still haven't completed the post blow-through cleanup. Fairways and 1st cut of rough haven't been cut in a long while and are littered with debris from the trees. No pace of play enforcement at all. I was behind a riding foursome and on more than one occasion, they spent 10+ minutes looking for and/or fishing balls from the water. Was ignored when I requested to play through. No course personnel around to address this or any issue. Finally able to go around them at the turn when they stopped at the clubhouse, only to get behind another slowsome. Melbourne City of, Mallard's Landing golf course features 18 holes that bypass the same mid course bathroom (yeah) from both directions. It is well laid out, mostly flat but the variations in level are challenging as are the water hazards. The 8th hole crosses a creek before the green, this same creek challenges on the 12th or 13th hole rather unexpectedly but on a shorter hole. The 17th hole has a pond beside the green on the left so it can have surprising consequences. Play is usually quicker than a four hour pace. Melbourne City offers memberships for discounts. The restaurant is closed but the pro shop sells drinks, snacks, golf supplies and has a nice restroom. Staff are pleasant and friendly. Tee times are easier by calling the office directly. Went for the foot golf, as it's called. Took my twin 12 year olds who are accomplished soccer players. I had no idea what to expect, and the fella in the pro shop happily took my money but couldn't find the time to explain a damn thing about the rules of their foot golf endeavor. Got out on the course and couldn't make sense of it. Saw two flags, but not two tee boxes. Decided that the boys would just kick off from the ladies tee and go to the furthest flag, and then we would just repeat the front nine for the full 18 that was advertised. Over zealous ranger proceeded to stalk us at every turn and throughout, and presumed that we were trying to somehow "pull one over" on the course or try to get more than we paid for. Fuck that guy. There were literally 10 people or less on the course at the time. No issues with congestion, crowding, etc. just what should have been an easy going Monday afternoon. Questioning my integrity and suggesting that I would "steal" a service that wasn't due to me is one of my switches. And this place threw that switch. I would have gladly paid twice what I paid for a knowledgeable, courteous staff who would explain the rules of the game before sending us out, and to not be treated like a fucking criminal. A word of advice to those who run this municipal course: this isn't Augusta. In fact, your course is shit. The fairways and greens are the worse I've seen in Brevard County. Although, your greens have significantly improved since the last time I gave you my money. Stop taking yourselves so seriously, hire rangers with a little fucking common sense, and maybe try explaining the rules of your "foot golf" to people a little better before sending them out to be harassed by your rangers for not fully understanding the process. Having not played here previously my friends and I wanted to try out Mallards Landing Course because as 1 of 2 of Melbourne's city owned courses, we are big fans of the other, Crane Creek Golf Course. As first impressions go we were unimpressed. We were initially met with an older staff member in the Pro-Shop who was very discourteous and rude and not very helpful. The information he did give us contrasted to what we were informed when we called to schedule our tee time. After playing, my brother also realized he had been over charged. The staff member who was acting as Player Assistant was also very rude as we started at the first hole. He was grumbling and complaining about his job and the day. As we played we could tell that the course had recently been aerated but otherwise we found the grounds to not be very well maintained. The grass was tall and had a lot of debris and trash on the fairways. On areas surrounding the course there was even over grown brush and weeds. I understand that it is a city run public course, but a pleasant staff and a clean course are not too much to ask. For the price there are other alternatives read more

Guys in the clubhouse were nice but the course was in terrible condition. Worse greens in Brevard County. Driving range is the best value there. read more
