Steve is inquisitive and he really assesses your needs. And (as I said) he talks, so be prepared for a detailed (and enjoyable) conversation about your needs and wants. I really appreciate the fact he took the time to go over everything with me in exquisite detail. He delivered the board promptly and went over the basics. Steve seems well connected in the surf community and is a great resource. In addition to covering every detail of my purchase, he gave me info on best beaches for SUP surfing as well as contact information for an instructor who sounds amazing. Against, Steve's recommendations of 1. Practicing in a calm area (like a harbor) and 2. Getting lessons, I've been doing this on my own. This board is not as stable as your typical SUP surf board, so took some time to train my balance muscles and learn this board. But after a couple of sessions, I got it down and with that was able to finally paddle over the breaks and make progression towards catching waves. I don't recommend for the average person take this path. I had a surf lesson about 10 years ago and come from kitesurfing. Definitely get lessons if you've never done anything like this. Been out early am every weekend I can, finally catching some of my first waves and sometimes playing kook of the day (and not cashing anything) on a board I LOVE! I would definitely buy another board from Steve just given his passion and commitment to deliver excellence to his customers. His passion is infectious. Board I purchased was an 8'10" Quarto Glide Max. With a quick blade paddle. This setup is awesome.
