I visited Rizzi's Hair Design for the first time this Thursday, 4/3. For months, I had been searching for a quality men's haircut after my long-time stylist retired at 91. I sat for a cut with Gino, and I was very impressed with his skills. I liked his scissor cut, as it is hard to find a place that does not default to cheap clipper haircutting. The salon was elegant, and the service was outstanding. Gino's assistant, Nicki, was very kind and welcoming on the phone, and she was even more pleasant in person. Gino Rizzi does a fantastic job! I LOVE my hair color :D I've been highlighting my hair since I was in 8th grade, and I'm almost 3 years out of college now, so I KNOW what is a good job, a bad job and everything in between. Rizzi was super meticulous in a good way and did great work. His assistant was a doll and we were laughing the whole time. The other reviewers do not lie. I went in without an appointment and in need of a cute look for a birthday dinner and I had something in mind. I had given myself a conditioning treatment the night before and they assured me that it could be done (mainly just a layered cut and blow dry). So I put some more coins in the meter and back in I went. Gino is a whiz at cutting hair. Let me tell you, he went through step by step explaining how he was cutting my hair and why. Best haircut ever! The other girls there who washed and blew dry my hair were excellent as well. And for all the time and quality, I gladly tipped them well. Gino, the owner is the best at extensions and understanding a woman's hair. He knew exactly what I needed to make me look and feel my very best. Gino and his staff are always very pleasant to speak with and be around for the hour and a half, or so, that it takes to color, cut and place extensions on my hair. i am vacationing in los angeles and i am in dyer need of a root fix and hair extension adjustment. My friend reccomended gino and i am so glad i went. Gino applied my color and matched my own color perfectly. He redid my extensions untill i get home. My hair looks amazing . My hair color is golden and so shiny . I have been seeing Gino Rizzi for over 20 years to do my hair. He has seen me go through so many "phases" of my life. (high school, college, marriage, and now 2 kids) Ever since I have gone to him, I have received numerous compliments on my hair color and cuts. I am a "natural" blonde trying to keep it as "natural" looking as possible with weaves every few months. Well, through my experience with Gino, I have NEVER met anyone else who can keep my color as consistent and beautiful as he does! You might ask..."If you have seen Gino for 20 years, how would you know what else is out there?" As we all do, I recently took a little adventure to a random salon thinking it could work and I could be over and done with that day. What was I thinking?!?!?!? I ended up leaving this random salon looking like an "ashy blonde" and knowing I would have to run to Gino to fix it! Through all of his years of experience, he has seen it ALL! He knows how to combat ANY hair color issue. (Trust me! I have had many throughout high school when I thought I could "do-it-myself". I finally promised him I would leave my hair alone and save it for the professionals. I didn't think a salon like Rizzi's could exist. Seriously. I wasn't really even looking and am SO grateful I have found "home". Gino's eye is spot on. He matched my color perfectly, gave me a great cut and style and the price tag....so affordable. We talked about possibly adding highlights and extensions at a later date. Gino is also super personable and down to earth. I will gladly come back. Gino now has a faithful customer in me. I have met a lot of great stylists in LA but all with a hefty price and (sometimes attitude) to match. Maria is super sweet there and was great as well. All in all a GREAT experience!! I've been going to Gino for as long as he has been open here - nearly 25 years. I have that straight-as-a-stick Japanese hair that I have permed. Other places have taken up to 4 hours to shampoo, cut, roll up (even piggy back rolled), permed & out the door. Gino can do it in 2 hours! I have very thick coarse hair and had many disappointments from countless hair dressers due to their lack of experiences dealing with my hair type or to their outrageous prices when they see my hair. This Little place is an undiscovered Gem! Iv been going there for about two years now to get my hair extensions and blow outs done.. And they are the best by far. The staff is so bomb and friendly all my girlfriends go to him.. I moved to the LA area a few months ago from the east coast and have been looking for a great salon (so many to choose from!) After looking at the reviews and website, I made an appointment, Gino cut my hair and did a fantastic job!! I have long hair, wavy/curly with a lot of layers.. and I've had bad a few back cuts in the past and am very particular.. I would absolutely recommend the salon, and Gino! Not only do I think he did an amazing cut, but him and the staff were very nice and friendly as well. He greeted me at the door to welcome me to the salon (as he knew I was a new client). They did a great wash and blow out, I left completely happy. It is a fast paced salon too, which is nice. For a wash, cut, and blow out I was there for less than an hour and I have a lot of hair. Let me start by saying - I am at the salon almost every 4 weeks on the dot and not once have I left without loving my hair. Gino is fabulous and really cares about your hair. His color is perfect and I can't tell you how many times I am asked who does my color. I'm blonde and it is always hard to get a colorist to make your hair look the perfect blonde... but let me tell you Gino is the one! I Loved my experience today at Rizzi's Hair salon...first, no fuss parking (loved that), 2nd, Gino and his amazing staff. Gino who is easy on the eyes, and his girls who are sweet, attentive and completely without the usual pretentiousness often found at similar Higher End Salons. Inconsistent. I went three times. First time Gino really listened, followed a photo I showed him from a PR shoot which I wanted him to replicate, he got it exactly right. The second time the place was busy, overbooked, there was a lot of chatting going on among the assistants and regular customers. Gino rushed that haircut, to the point that I had to come back a few days later to ask him to finish the job correctly. He did that willingly, did not charge me for it. Unfortunately, the same thing happened when I went back for a third cut - place was busy, lots of chit chat going on, and Gino did a rush job again. I had to go to another salon to straighten out a sloppy (and not cheap) cut.. Too bad - the first cut was great, but I won't go back. read more

I can't say enough great things about this salon!! I moved out to LA 3 years ago and was referred here by a friend, it's the only salon I've been to since. I had to finally write my review! I'm a new mom and hadn't had the chance to take care of my hair in quite some time. This past week, I called the salon last minute and they were able to accommodate me the following day. My sitter canceled on me just before my appointment so I called the salon and asked if they thought it would be OK to bring my baby with me. Nicky, as always, was so sweet and even offered to help with him. Gino and Nicky were even there at the door and helped me bring my baby, stroller... and all his goodies in :) Gino gave me a great cut... I desperately needed a good chop! I had also started losing my hair, postnatal, and Gino reassured me that it is all normal and temporary, really very sweet. Overall, great salon, amazing staff, parking is easy. All good things!!
