I called and made an appointment for an oil change at 9:30, and told them I would decline a ride home but would instead take a nice walk in town while it was being done. I was told it could take up to an hour and a half, which I agreed to. I showed up and was told it would be ready at 2:00. After expressing my dismay, I was told my appointment was for a "drop-off", not for for service, and that's the way the shop works. I know I have only had a drivers license, or getting oil changes done for 52 years, but I have never heard of such BS, and certainly won't be going to Rizzoli's, or recommending them to anyone I know. read more

A couple of days ago I discovered a small oil leak under my truck caused by an oil filter seal. I have worked in a garage and know these things can happen. Rizzoli had serviced my truck a couple of months prior but it took that long for the oil filter to expose the leak. I took the truck back and explained the problem. They changed the oil and filter at no expense to me. They also pressure washed the underside at no cost. I will continue to have them service my vehicles in the future. I highly recommend them for standing up to customer service. read more

Follow up to my post about the oil change on 8/15/2024 and The comments by the mechanics Recommended Repairs and service and pricing. 1. 5/25/2024 odometer reads 25,564 miles, shop Recommends having a differential service per manufactures recommendation. $328.00. Actual manufacturer recommendation 50,00 + miles for differential service. 2. Shop recommends replacement of left rear shock, says it's leaking $680.00. Truck has been parked same place in enclosed garage on super clean concrete floor since January 2023. Not one drop of anything on concrete floor. 3. I'll leave it here for now, but there are 3 more suggested services that are highly questionable, and expensive. Think I'm going to check around. read more

I had been a long time customer of Pete's automotive who closed and was purchased by Rizzoli's. Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars on tires and vehicle repairs at Pete's for 5 or 6 family vehicles . I received notice of the ownership change, and was informed that Rizzoli's would be honoring complementary tire rotations to the owners of tires purchased when the business was Pete's. When I called to made an appointment for a tire rotation , I spoke to a friendly gentleman. I told him that I was having some concerns about steering issues and wondering about the life of my brakes which were installed by Pete's quite a while ago.. The gentleman I spoke to assured me that the brakes would be inspected and the steering components would also be checked when it was on the lift. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told by the service writer, a person that I had not previously spoken to, that no safety inspection would be made unless I paid for a oil change or some other service, The oil change for my truck was quoted $180. I explained that I had just changed my oil myself. I was told, I could pay for a vehicle safety inspection for an additional $60. I'm pretty sure I'm due for a brake job, at least an alignment and maybe an entire front end rebuild, not sure but I had at hard time coughing up 60 bucks to be told I need to spend thousands on repairs. The service writer was polite and professional. I saw that she even offered other customers complementary rides home instead of waiting. Now seeking another local automotive repair shop to establish a long-term trusted relationship with. read more

I was a customer of Pete's tire and auto before Rizzoli took it over. Was always happy with the service I got. Not entirely happy with my visit here this week. Had oil and tranny fluid changed and tire rotation. Driving home, the tire pressure warning light came on. That usually means the pressure sensors were not reset after moving the tires. Louis said to bring it back, but I live 20 miles away! Dumb rookie mistake. read more

I used to go to the Rizzoli's in SLO years ago, but living in Morro Bay it was easier to go with a local auto repair shop. Recently I had a problem with my Toyota Sequoia with some shrouds under the engine compartment that tore loose and were causing an awful fluttering sound while driving. I bought the part and took it to Rizzoli's to have them help me. Luis was extremely helpful and installed it for me. The office secretary was very courteous and helpful as well. First off the service people in the office were nice, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. I took in my vehicle for a diagnostic for a check engine light and after identifying my problem I was quoted a reasonable price compared to other prices I had gotten. Along with the diagnostic they did a full check up on my vehicle and they noticed some minor things I'll be needed in the future and and some more important things that my vehicle needed. No other shop has ever done such a thorough check up to make sure my car is in tip top shape. read more

My husband went in person & got a quote & appointment . The same lady that gave him quote in person & phone didnt honor it. It was more money. And other appointment for other car they didn't honor said they couldn't do . So my husband left. Very dishonest when they don't honor quotes to your face and don't honor appointments.
