I would not recommend renting from RJR Maintenance & Management based on my experience. I provided my required notice to move out and maintained communication with the office throughout the process. During that time, I was told different things by different employees about my move-out and what rent would be owed if I vacated early. After I moved, I was billed for charges that I disputed and repeatedly requested documentation supporting those charges. Communication became very frustrating. Emails often went unanswered for long periods, and I had to continue following up to get responses. Rather than working toward a resolution, I was ultimately informed that my account would be sent to collections while I was still disputing the balance. My advice to anyone renting from RJR is to keep copies of every email, text message, receipt, inspection report, and document. If you have any conversations over the phone, follow up with an email confirming what was discussed so you have everything in writing. This review reflects my personal experience. read more

Do your research on this company. Read there reviews and really think twice before leasing with them. There is a reason they have so many bad reviews. They don't care about military we have first hand experience. If you choose to rent from them, read the fine print and cover your A$$! They definitely did not show good morals in our experience. I moved out here from a different state and they delayed my move in date to the point where I had to stay at a hotel and instead of giving them my first month's rent, the money went to the hotel, transportation and food since I didnt have a kitchen to cook in. Instead of realizing their mistake, they charged me with a late fee for 3 months until I paid "everything that was owed". Meaning the first month, 3 months in late fees and the current month of rent. And they actually had the audacity to give me a bad reference which is now effecting my ability to find a new place. Hope I don't have to sleep in the moving van tonight. I've had a spotless tenant record for 8 years in 4 different states and I have never encountered anything like these people. This is THE WORST property management company I've ever met. read more

At this moment I want to give a one star , but let's be realistic. Things they do right: 1) snow removal, in ND this is huge and I was impressed 2) accept credit cards, although limited and with a fee 3) have a website, although I was unable to find a way to pay on that sight 4) easy access office with ability to pay there even after hours drop 5) nice selection of rentals and storage units Things I'm not impressed with 1) only take MC and Visa for credit cards and there is a fee 2) they do not follow up AT ALL if there is any issue with your payment; I paid with a credit card and must have given a wrong number? ( I need glasses). Or I did get payment through and since I'm in three places locating it is impossible for now. 3) they give you a month then lock you out ;without a call, email etc. it's a $60 fee for 10 minutes of their time. 4). You need to request a receipt, it's NOT automatic. Also do NOT hang up or leave until you have verbal confirmation of payment and if CC, check immediately that it show up there. 5) if something went wrong it's all on you. I'm not sure it's worth my time to search. 6) you can pay by phone so that's good, but there is that fee! I'm sure many places do this now? 7) you must give them 30 days in writing when you leave a storage unit. This is probably common, but with the need for storage I'm not sure it's necessary. 8) The staff seems very pleasant unless there is an issue then... not so much. I'm sure they hear every BS story in the books... so although I'm not impressed I'm also not surprised. 9) the doors are horrible to open in winter, so bring de-icer. I doubt there is anything they can do to fix this. It is ND after all, we get cold! All in all; if you choose to rent from them, read the fine print and cover your A$$! They are a management company that deals with all sorts of people and seem to assume the worst. After having renters I understand that thinking but don't advise it. Once I'm out of the unit I'll update this and see how that goes! read more

Do not rent through them they're scandalous they lie I've been blamed for things that I didn't do I was with them for at least 5 years. It was good at first and then I started getting blamed for things I wasn't doing my kids were getting blamed for things they weren't doing discriminated on paid for damages at one place that I didn't do that were there previously befor I moved into that place I just left them and I know there's not a lot of damages there and got blamed for things there I wasn't doing discriminated on cleaned everything I know what was damaged and that was basically just where I hung a TV for amount and random little screw holes from hanging things up and they've been ignoring me emails and everything their scandalous they like to lie about people they like to use people to pay for damages that somebody else caused is there maintenance guys don't know what they're doing I had to have my door fixed how many times because they didn't know what they were doing and it's still when I left it basically was messed up more than it was when I moved in the maintenance guy is ruined the painting around it and the paneling around it instead of calling and having a professionals fix the door they send non-professionals .. I've been blamed on having multiple dogs in one place that I had when I didn't when how many dogs would run into my yard because people don't keep their dogs on leashes and the one trailer court at airport trailer court that whole trailer court even the one that's connected other one that's connected cuz there's like three of them connected in one I got blamed on having a dirty yard when I didn't would send videos and pictures of my yard to them showing got blamed on having a pool and tires and some other stuff in the back of my house at one point time at the trailer I had when I didn't send video and pictures of that ended up having to pay for stains that were in the carpet when I moved into that place after I moved out the list could go on but basically towards the end I felt discriminated did not feel safe living with through them anymore read more

I worked with Amy I didn't stay in contact with her over the course of just one week and this was apparently the week that I could have saved my lease. Yes I was late on rent. But I was in the process of working with Native, Inc and St. Vincent de Paul. I was approved for a small payment from st. Vincent but bc I did not contact Amy during the saving week. Lol she would not take their payment. She also would not wait for a payment from Native, Inc that would have got me current with rent. She proceeded with eviction. I was only one month behind!!! People at goldmark were like 5-6 months behind.Could you say greedy much??? Now to get into a good standing but still have an eviction from rjr on my record I have to pay them back??!?! They stole all my stuff!!! EVERYTHING!! MY shark vacuum, my air fryer, my microwave, my clothing, furniture, TV stand, my sacred eagle plum. They want their rent but yet steal ppls belongings. I'd never recommend them or rent from them ever again If they asked me to come back. My eviction outdated was a Sunday I couldn't get money for a storage unit til Monday. I had stuff boxed up. And I have a TBI and got the time wrong and was only able to grab 5 minutes worth of my property while they changed the locks. The maintenance man also peeked I. At me while I changed out of my work clothes. Their rude blatant thieves.hope your clean up crew enjoyed all the stuff you stole from me. This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. No follow thru on there end and awful customer service. Even during a pandemic when they could help strengthen their community and really help they have chosen to refuse to work with their customers and clients and create more of a homeless problem for the city and their residents and all to make an extra buck. To shake people down and nickel and dime them for their last nickels and dimes is horrible and you should be ashamed. I'm disappointed with the ethical practices of your local real estate and the people running it. (Side note I still have some squatters stolen goods in my garage RJR has failed do anything about, first come first serve) The only way to get a company like this out of your community is to stop giving them business. I will be contacting the home owner, BBB and be a very loud advocate against this extremely unethical practices and partners. Update I was never burglarized, there was a squatter here when I moved in across the country during a pandemic and Rjr hasn't done anything about his property which looks mostly like anything he would rip off a car or steal for a few bucks. Everyone I've worked with has done little to nothing to insure I had a positive experience, feel free to contact me Jackie to hear the whole story from move in to what prompted me to finally take action. I missed a month of rent while traveling to see my daughter and communicated my situation as soon as I realized what had happened. Was threatened with eviction for $900 rent plus $160 in late fees and processing fees (sounds like A shake down) due to my error yes, but was assured by staff it was not a big deal. These were crazy times they said and made me feel like someone cared at first just to collect fees. I asked for another week to not completely drain me, I was after all charged two late fees and a processing fee (I'm sure the highest allowed by the State) and I'm currently paying for two houses. Still no biggie until one employee says it's ok the other, who I must have rubbed wrong or was having a bad day tells me tough luck. You got your nickel and dimes or fees and lost a renter and earned a very unsatisfied customer. Get your house in order RJR, no pun intended. I can't wait until my lease is up as this was the only thing I could find late March and they used that. I meant to rent from a local company to keep the money in our economy, now I don't care it it goes to California or some corporation out East. HORRIBLE! You turn in your keys and the place you rent is in BETTER CONDITION THAN YOU RECEIVED IT AND they don't return your deposit in a timely fashion! Already been a week or more and they tell you "we have up to 30 days to return the money". We don't get 30 days to pay our deposit as a customer but your lazy and incompetent office staff can take 30 days..... DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!! If a zero was an option I'd rate a zero! THE BEST PART WAS THE CRACKED PAINT, dirty walls and floors but they state they wanted it given to the next person in "GREAT" condition... this company is a JOKE In response to the person below... I did complain and you are obviously unaware of the old and will never be returning tenant you are speaking to. I lived in the Bismarck area on my own for about 8/9 months now and I have had things stolen out of my garage. I should be able to have the door closed and not have someone come and take my things. I called, they do not have cameras.. Whatever guess there's nothing they can do? Not to mention the back security door is often left open because of snow blockage or ice and i feel like my safety was compromised. there would be thick ice and slippery slopes. They are all snakes! They lie and cheat you out of all your money. If I were you and we're forced to only choose them take your lease and all documents to a lawyer to look over before you sign. The women at the front desk with short black hair has a HUGE attitude and will curse, swear, and call you names. My advise is if you need an apartment try anyone but them. They also won't do any service repairs at all. We had our kitchen light fixture go out and after numerous attempts to get it fixed the same women said that they never revived any such requests. I rented from RJR from August 2019 to August 2020 and it was a nightmare. I slipped and broke my wrist on the hill leading down to the street in January 2020. Mind you that this is the ONLY way to get to the street where my son's car was parked. In the 3 or 4 months of winter RJR NEVER de-iced that hill. There was 1/4 to 3/4 inch sheets of ice on the entire hill. My son called them on the way to the hospital and told them to get their dumb a$$e$ out there and fix the situation that because of their negligence I had broke my wrist. They threatened to hang up on him and they asked how fast was I walking and just exactly what kind of shoes was I wearing. Told us to provide proof, so a couple of weeks later after I had a plate and 6 screws surgically placed in my wrist I provided proof and the told me that I should have had renters insurance so my medical costs were covered they were not responsible. The happy ending is I have a lawsuit against them and with that I will be able to move back to my home state a purchase a house!!! And to the b!@#@ that was trying to be rude and point the blame on me, I should thank you because my son took a picture of my shoes at the hospital and that helped me tremendously in the lawsuit. And from what I understand RJR has so many lawsuits that they will soon be out of business! Could have settled for 1/4 of what you're going to pay. Karma read more

They left the apartment across the hall dirty for 4 months hot summer, causing roaches to come into my home, a rodent dug it's way through wall in living room, they left the heat off in winter that they controlled, they did not sand their hills causing me and my kids to crawl on our hands and knees across ice in cold winter, charged me $2,300 for apartment in better condition than when I moved in. These people have a lot of hometown people who take up for them including a government program housing worker. Don't be fooled, they are greedy, selfish, lazy snakes. read more
