Thank you, Paula, at RX Audiology! After having some pressure in my ears for a couple of weeks I decided to make an appointment with RX. Turns out I needed a professional ear cleaning from long term inner ear wax buildup that had been caused by using q-tips over the years. I feel so relieved it wasn't anything more serious like hearing loss. Such a relaxing and informative appointment. They allow you to watch the entire process (if you want to!) through their high tech camera that peeks down your ear canal. Fantastic!! There are no negatives - Victoria is exceptional. I appreciated her taking the time to answer all my questions so that I understood each facet of the process. She was thorough in explaining the results of my hearing test. Also, she demonstrated such expertise that I was quite satisfied with the hearing aids I selected after she outlined the pros and cons for each choice. Follow-up visits were just as productive. Another positive is that they took me on time every time - unusual for some offices where an appointment is scheduled and one must wait 15 - 30 minutes before being seen. Wow! I went to see Paula and Janet to see about custom fit earbuds for use with my iPhone. They explained all my options in great detail and I decided on a pair of professional grade earplugs that can also be used with a set of Westone earbuds for music. Turns out, the earplugs are fantastic but the earbuds left a lot to be desired. I emailed Paula and Janet asking if I could return the earbuds and use the cost towards a better set specifically designed for this use. Not only did they credit the cost I paid, but gave me the best price on the new set (Etymotic hf3) they could find on the internet and then gave me a discount since the first pair did not work. I am now the proud owner of a professional pair of earplugs to use for music, F1, Moto GP, etc and I have a world class pair of noise cancelling earbuds to listen to my music - all at the best price one could expect to find anywhere. On top of all this, they are professional, friendly, and just down right great to work with. Stopped in today with my buddy who is a DJ and swears by these guys. He was picking up his custom monitors and I got a super quick ear exam plus some valuable information in the time it took him to check out his product. Super knowledgeable staff and oh so friendly! If you need monitors or just filtered earplugs... This is the only place you need to go **update** Came back to get fitted for my own filtered ear plugs. To have all that gunk in your ears is the nearest you'll get to being deaf. It's a fairly ear-opening (see what I did there?) experience that made me appreciate the investment I was about to make in my hearing. I feel lucky I found RK. My next "big birthday" will be the 70th. (I don't believe it, but there it is.) I was hesitant about calling - the other reviewers sounded young, hip, looking for ways to have a better listening - as opposed to hearing - experience. I'm so glad I called.
