He returned them two and a half months ago. Our insurance company had paid half of the cost of these hearing aids and the money has still not been returned to them. We have called this New Sound office many times and have been told that they cannot give us the phone number for the billing department. Today, they said they do not know who their manager for this location is and do not know how we can get in touch with anyone about the problem. Amazing! The Attorney General's Office will be the next one we contact to complain, and also the Better Business Bureau.

I called yesterday to inquire and verify that I had met…read moremy deductible and when I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist handed me a cost breakdown which was the same breakdown from months ago, the billing coordinator had not done her job by updating my information. I did my part with my insurance company but she failed to do her job by updating and when I brought it to her attention she totally disregarded my feelings and proceeded to tell me an amount that was in fact wrong because my insurance company verified that my deductible was met so no out of cost was needed. I would have been okay with her mistake if she weren't sooooooooo RUDE! I never got to meet the doctors because I was so disgusted with the poor customer service. I don't want to go down that road, and though I'm still in my 50s, I like to be proactive about my health. First, there is plenty of parking at an easy-to-find building in Lakeway. Golden Ears is a nicely designed office with a soundproof "room." Dr. Penaroza has a great personality; she answered all my questions, and gave me a clear assessment of where I'm missing hearing quality. She showed me my results the same day and provided a fair estimate of when I might expect to purchase hearing aids. I'm not quite there yet, but when I do, I'll be ordering them from Golden Ears.

The office is nice, new and clean, easy to get in and out, never super crowded. Front desk and all the nurses are great. I also appreciate the "MyChart" patient portal app and website. It's easy to make appointments online and to communicate about prescription refills, questions about lab results, etc., all online. You can compare your current labs against past results in a graph or just a list too. Very useful and easy. We both find Dr Nugent to have excellent bedside manner. He's very easygoing, gives you his opinion and explains your options without being pushy or overbearing. I find him to be very sensible and moderate in his recommendations. My husband is very nervous going to doctors in general so I am so thankful to have found a doctor he feels comfortable with and who he is willing to go and see when necessary.
