Complete remodel of our family room, including removing paneling and installing sheet rock, ceiling…read morerepair, new insulation, new trim, replacement of sliding door and ceiling fan. Ceiling and walls painted. Also removed an in wall a/c in a bedroom and repaired wall and siding. Everything went very well. The crew showed up on time and got to work. They discovered a couple issues once things were torn out; these were addressed at minimal additional cost. The family room looks great and the repaired wall in the bedroom looks like there was never anything there, inside and out. We're very happy with the work and won't hesitate to call Brian again.

Is completed in the same day but was discovered afterwards that the surround was was installed wrong so had to be reordered and first one had to be torn out and reorder installed at his expense. New bath faucet internals also had to be replaced (at owners expense) because when soldering in place he got the fixture to hot and ruined the parts so faucet leaked from day one. Also a few years later when installing new siding discovered instead of ordering correct window the window that was installed was a "replacement" window meant to go in an old window frame but was installed in a wood frame opening with a horrible caulk and trim job on the outside which allowed the window drain holes to leak water into the wall of the house for years. The wall had to be torn apart and rebuilt from the water and subsequent insect damage. Worst contractor I have ever dealt with.

We used J. Hence and Co. for a major renovation and addition to an older home. Before deciding to…read moreuse Jamie, we talked to several local builders/contractors. From the first meeting, we could tell the difference. Jamie was the only one that we felt really understood our budget and what we wanted to achieve. Jamie was a tremendous help every step of the way: from finding an architect to help with the plans to picking materials, to adding some design ideas of his own. We took the house down to bare studs and built back out from there and the entire experience was great. We had heard horror stories from others who did similar projects with other builders. Whenever a problem arose, Jamie had several options for us to choose from to keep things moving and stay in budget. It has been 4 years since our project was finished and the quality speaks for itself...we have had no issues with any of the workmanship. We have since recommended Jamie to several friends and they have all had nothing but good things to say about the work that Jamie has done for them. We will continue to recommend J. Hence and Co. to friends and will always use Jamie for any projects that we have in the future.

Extremely poor quality as a general contractor. 1. He…read morenever inspected the work that he sub-contracted to Tile and Carpet Town, which was also poor. John installed my new vanity over the first floor tile installation, after I told him that there were issues with the tile 2. John cut through a gray water pipe, which leaked water to kitchen ceiling below and caused sheet rock damage. The sheet rock damage was ignored and he simply painted the ceiling damage with Kilz to cover the damage. 3. John did sheet rock work in the bathroom and did not vent any of the dust outside, which caused all dust from installation and sanding to go throughout house. He never cleaned this dust 4. The dust from John's sheet rock work clogged my furnace filter, which caused my HVAC system to be unable to work properly, ice over and stop working. John admitted that he did not vent any of the dust 5. John did not require Tile and Carpet Town to vent dust from tile rip out to the outside of house, which caused dust to go throughout house. The furnace filter was again clogged with this dust 6. When I showed John the dust throughout the house, he offered to pay to clean the house, however, that never happened 7. When I showed John the spots on my lawn where the Tile and Carpet Town tile installer had dumped floor materials, he dug up the lawn and tried to remove the material from the tree where it was dumped 8. The Tile and Carpet Town tile installer put dirty floor covering and tub coverings into a side bedroom instead of disposing of them properly 9. John has charged a premium for this project, however, the work has been poor with many issues that he has not resolved 10. John will not discuss the issues that both he and his sub-contractor have caused at my house, he only wants his money
