Joey has a "can do" attitude and understands that big changes can bring some uncertainty as to what would look best. The grass in my front yard was dead, so I decided to xeriscape it. I am getting older, so mowing has become a struggle since both the front and back yard are huge. I changed my mind a couple of times, and he took it in stride. He understood that this was a big decision. I was pleasantly surprised with the quote for the job as I had looked at others that were more expensive. It was well within my budget, and less expensive than I expected. They got the job done in a timely manner, and his employees were just as friendly, respectful, and professional as Joey is. We moved the boulders around some until I got the look I was looking for, and his guys did it with a smile on their face. I would recommend them, if you are looking for someone to xeriscape your yard. I have had so many positive remarks from my neighbors who say they love it! I even got a suggestion from Miguel (project manager) to add some lights, which I will be looking into. Kudos to Joey and his team for a job well done. Definitely a 10 out of a 10!!

They are also working on a sprinkling system and installing SOD and garden bed with concrete edging. They started this project in late 2022 around Oct/Nov so couldn't quite finish the entire project due to weather but did get the concrete and fence done with very quick turn around. Partly because of his good reviews we contracted with J. (Jose) Torres Roofing to replace our roof…read more What a mistake! Jose comes across as a very nice person. And, most of what he did to replace our roof was OK. However, in our experience with him we learned to not trust what he says - he may or may not do it. And, don't expect him to take responsibility for what he does or doesn't do. He said he would seal the corners of our rain gutter - he did. He said, he would touch-up the paint on 10 small spots on our rain gutters. He talked several times about doing it and when - he never did it. This issue was not such a "big deal" by itself, and not in our contract, but it did expose his dishonesty and made us wonder if there were other things he may have also been dishonest about in replacing the roof, having phony reviews, etc. Our contract said he was to replace the drip edge. He did, but also decided, by himself, to change the color - without our approval. Who could ever think that was a good idea? Our past drip edge color matched our fascia, rain gutter, wainscoting and house. We liked it and had never even considered changing it. But he did!!! When new shingles were being put on the house we noticed the drip edge color was off- white, instead of beige, and did not match anything - ours had matched everything. We very much had liked it that way. It now looked like a big mistake. I asked him why he had done this. He said his supplier only had 2 colors of drip edge and he did not have time to call other suppliers to find the matching one. So, he chose what he thought was the best one of the two. He actually did something this consequential that was not in our contract nor had our approval. We then expected any responsible contractor would be willing to help resolve an issue he created - and actually a responsible contractor probably would, but that was not him. Changing the drip edge after the new shingles were partly on did not seem very practical, so I suggested to him what seemed to be a reasonable solution - he could spray paint the new drip edge the same color as the prior one. He refused, and offered no other solution, leaving it for us to resolve. When dealing with a contractor, everyone has heard many times to put everything in writing and don't pay the final settlement until everything is right. My experience with J. Roofing definitely confirms that, and suggests to not only include what is to be done but also add what is not to be done. Or, just go with someone else. NOTE: A few days before submitting this review I sent a draft of it to Jose as a courtesy to him. I also told him to let me know if there was anything still undone that he would like to do before I sent this and, when completed, I would be happy to revise it. I never heard from him.
