When I arrived, I had my two-year-old with me in a stroller. She was calm, quiet, and watching a movie completely unbothering anyone. The salon itself was nearly empty, with only one other client present. Instead of being welcomed, I was immediately met with a very cold and judgmental attitude from the front desk. I was looked up and down, along with my stroller, and told in a very rude and inflexible manner that children were not allowed and that I would either need to leave or reschedule. As a mother, it is not always easy to find time for self-care, and I made the effort to come in for this appointment. The lack of empathy or basic courtesy was honestly shocking. There was zero attempt to accommodate, problem-solve, or even speak kindly. To make matters worse, I was charged $75 (50% of the service) simply for having to leave despite the fact that the situation could have been handled with basic human decency and flexibility. I do want to note that Desi, the hairstylist, did try to be kind while witnessing the way I was being treated, and I appreciate that. I understand this situation was not her fault. However, the overall customer service and experience are a direct reflection of the business she represents. This was the first time I've ever experienced something like this at a salon. I left feeling embarrassed, dismissed, and frankly, discriminated against for being a mother. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this salon especially to other moms. There are plenty of places that treat clients with respect, kindness, and understanding. This was not one of them.

After an exhausting Thanksgiving I decided that I could use a little pampering and treated myself to a blowout before our family Christmas pictures. I had heard great things about Bubbles & Blowouts from the Moms of South Tampa so I checked out the website and to see their hours and discovered I could book an appointment online. I really liked that I could book an appointment online instead of calling because I rarely get a minute to pick up the phone with my clingy one year old. Not only was I able to book my reservation quickly and quietly after I put my toddlers to bed, but I was also able to score a morning appointment before nap time! The location on South Dale Mabry is super convenient to my house and there was plenty of parking spots available. Loved the fun and modern decor and music. Did I mention the awesome childcare area?! The owner obviously gets that busy moms want to get pampered, but do not always have access to a babysitter. My stylist Dali was so sweet and friendly and did an amazing job with my hair! A silver toner washed/rinsed in my hair to give it two tones. Can't wait to get back in for the color! Kacie is super fun to talk with and laugh for hours. I will say those shampoo sinks aren't the most comfortable when ya have to lay with your head back, a bit odd way of sitting. It is best to make an appointment here because as color processing takes a long time and a lot of work. There is a woman who also does eyebrow threading and her name is Mary.
