Lingy corrected my terrible highlights I got at a different salon. She took her time and the results turned out amazing. She is a master and blending and blinding. If you are trying to go from dark to light, I highly recommend Lingy. The pictures are a before and after.

I had my hair done by Kate a few days ago and am overall pretty happy. She did a great job blending my hair and was a joy to talk to. A few minor complaints are that although I paid for a full foil, the underneath of my hair is very dark compared to the top. Additionally, after washing my hair, the color is a little brassy. My main complaint, though, is that when I asked for an estimate for a balayage and trim before booking my appointment, I was told that balayages started at $200. I expected a total bill around $250-$300 before tip but was very blindsided as to how my total came to $350 before tip. From what I understand, the salon charges $65 for a trim and charges a "chemical fee" for any type of dye job. Considering that I was deterred from other salons due to being too expensive, I found this very shady and upsetting.

Our regular stylist left this salon but since my daughter now pays for her own highlights and she's only a teenager, she opted to take UBU's offer of 50% off her next appointment. That was a mistake. She went in with blonde partially highlighted hair with 1 inch roots needing a touch up and left with a row of brassy, underdeveloped, stripey highlights down the middle of her head with dark roots untouched everywhere else, some bizarre horizontal stripes across the back top and a warm, muddy tone to all her blonde. I had specified to please keep the tone cool, with bright blonde highlights and when I pointed out that everything looked very warm and brassy, I was told that the color was guaranteed, which made me feel a little better. My daughter had to go to work, though, so we had no choice but to leave and in the following days people actually asked her why she darkened her hair and mentioned the stripes in back. She was mortified so I contacted the stylist and arranged to come back in. He said he would remove the warm toner, refoil and lighten the highlights, touch up the stripes in back and add some foils to all the new growth he never touched the first time. He did remove the offending toner somewhat and to "correct" the situation, he sat her under a dryer with purple toning shampoo. No new, more appropriate toner...JUST purple shampoo. He also dabbed some dye (or something) on the stripes and turned them into calico cat spots and never did anything about the brassy highlights or the rest of the new growth that he said he'd address. I mentioned that it was still yellow and brassy with long roots everywhere else and he suggested we come back in eight weeks. I was truly dumbfounded. I said these brassy highlights will be much harder to even out when there is new growth. He agreed but still insisted we just come back in 8 weeks. When I said the purple shampoo was just going to wash out he said to just buy some and use it (we already have purple shampoo at home and believe me when I say it's no substitute for proper toning) Anyway, my daughter's hair is still a dingy, splotchy, brassy dark blonde - the complete opposite of what she normally gets and what I asked for. The second visit merely made her hair look worse and the stylist expects her to just wear this mess on her head for 8 more weeks. I'm still in disbelief. I messaged the salon owner to try and resolve this but she never replied so Yelp is my only recourse with this disappointing situation that has left my daughter with splotchy, stripey, brassy and essentially, ugly, hair. If we had only gone to her regular stylist at her new salon and not been swayed by their discount, I believe things would have turned out better for her *sigh* Im planning to have her hair fixed, unfortunately at MY expense, by someone who actually LISTENS and it won't involve seeing this stylist again. This whole situation was disheartening and disappointing. To UBU: Your clients are walking advertisements. Why would any stylist or salon choose to ignore substandard results when they could just fix them?? It makes no sense :( *The attached photos are from the day after the second visit.

Highly recommend Hannah! She fit me in the day I called and I cannot express enough how good she did! I would trust he with my hair any day. For consultation she sat next to be and really paid attention to what I wanted. Everyone in the shop was so friendly. They offered coffee and were personable. It wasn't too loud. Will be going back for sure!

Color Chart I based my review on, Check it out! :)

Salon: Unique and Cool. Parking: No parking lot. Staff: 3/4 Friendly. Price: $$ - $$$ ___________________________ Started a level: 6 (based on chart uploaded) Desired: 10 Platinum blonde w/ dimension level 9/8 mixed in. Expectation via 1 visit: 8 overall. Hair Length: Long, touching shoulder blades. Achieved w/ Penny: 98% level 5 + 6 and some sparse level 8/9 highlights. ___________________________ Experience via Penny: 1st visit was pretty friendly. I was excited to finally get a visit with her after months of trying to coordinate her schedule and mine harmoniously. We consulted about where I was at, what I can expect and the likeliness - it was a great thorough consult! I was set, spent about $350. I was comfortable with this because her portfolio is blonde heaven and many projects had been darker than mine. At the end of the process my hair did not turn out even similar to the design and definitely no where near expectations for color. In fact my hair had become darker overall which is extremely upsetting because salon life is an expensive and very consistent process. Also a shout out to Kelly Clarkson Streak hair 2002, that was totally me till my roots grew in about 4 inches. So that had sucked but I cut my losses and still walked out with a smile because the toning on my hair was beautiful and my hair was out of the shade of dingy yellow and more of a soft dark blonde/light brown. Also, my hair definitely had bleach on it for a loooooooooong time and still managed to come out feeling pretty decent (unlike all other experiences). So ++ for that. But on the - - her attitude completely sucked by the time I left and it was blatant. * 2nd visit: I had also come back in almost 9 months later to get a new estimate and say happy holidays, to which she replied nothing but the cost. Needless to say, I won't be able to go back because it's painfully obvious she has no interest in having me as a client haha. Oh well! Make sure you insist on Olaplex or another bond multiplier (redken) when bleaching, you'll thank your stylist for that!

This was my absolute worst experience at a hair salon ever, I would prefer to leave "0" stars. I requested a balayage and cut and Charles was my stylist. I came in with soft, healthy hair and he overprocessed my hair leaving it to feel hard and dry. Instead of the soft and natural gradation of lightness that a bayalage should have, I was left with harsh lines and what the salon that did my color correction referred to as "leopard spots". Charles said he would fix it, applied more toner, and had me sit longer...which did nothing. I called another salon as soon as I got in my car and had an appointment the next day. The manager at U.b.U was very difficult to get ahold of and refused a refund even after seeing the pictures below. She did say the salon would fix it free of charge (hahahaha), you couldn't pay me to go back inside that salon!! She stated, "We would gladly issue a refund if it were appropriate, but this case does not warrant a refund." Raquel, what exactly does warrant a refund? After you mess up the 2nd time? That is not a chance I am willing to take! Don't waste your money or time!!!!

    Before hair

Tina is absolutely amazing. About 3 hours and a completely reasonable price and my hair is exactly how I asked for it. Went in with a lot of damage and even with a full head foil and color correction my hair somehow is less damaged than before! I've been to my fair share of bad hair salons going back and forth from wanting to be blonde and brunette and am fully confident that UBU and Tina are my current favorite. Tina is my new blonde queen

The only reason this salon rating is as high as it is is because they pay you when you're there to write a good review. I left after Carlos botched my hair job. Instead of informing me during the process that he couldn't get the color he initially guaranteed, he continued to bleach and fry my hair for 6 hours. It's been 3 months since he did my hair and I'm still trying to get it to a manageable state.

I had my hair done back in May here by J darling. (His response to this review was to laugh and say i understand if you can't afford my prices) yikes! I used to come here in high school and i went to a guy named Leo who was amazing! It's been years since then but i figured it was a nice place back then and he was good so I'm sure I'll be happy. I looked at some of the stylists instagrams and thought one guys was pretty good so i booked my appointment. It had been a few months since i last had a full highlight (the girl i was going to went on maternity leave) so the bottom half of my head was more of my natural color other than the ends. I had mostly just been getting partial foils and a full every few months in between. Needless to say i was over due by this appointment. When i came in we sat together and did a consultation. I thought we were on the same page. We talked about blending my roots so that the grow out was a little less dramatic. After a couple of hours once we were done he turned me around and showed me the finished product. I was not thrilled. At all. I felt bad because he was really nice and seemed so confident i was going to love it so i didn't want to say i hated it but after all the time he had spent i really expected better.. I've gone to other salons before and spent the same amount of time in a chair (or less) and had SO much better of an outcome (and WAY less $$$). I think he could tell i wasn't totally happy considering he said let's go outside the lighting is better out there.... we took some after pictures which i later saw posted on his Instagram.. lighting really does change things.. the pics he posted of my after were no where near what my hair actually looked like... in fact when i went to work on Monday (got hair done on sat) my friend said weren't you gonna get ur hair done this weekend? lol then i told her i did and how much i paid and she told me i should go back.. but i really felt like it wouldn't make a difference. Also the caption on my before and after said "from brunette to blonde in one day" i haven't been brunette since 2014.. the before pictures were taken in the salon and the after were taken outside so i feel like that could be a little misleading. Today i straightened my hair and i think my roots are anything but blended. I've never been charged more than 250 for a full highlight and i thought that was expensive. At check out i paid 463.85 (i did buy shampoo and conditioner as well as tip..) still i think you can find much more upscale salons around tampa that would still charge a little less and do a waaaaay better job. So basically, don't trust Instagram.. really do your research..

    Cute little salon!

I purchased a Groupon for a hair cut and conditioning treatment. I went on a Saturday morning and this places was slammed! I did not have to wait at all though and was offered coffee which is a nice treat with a morning hair appointment. A little early for wine at the salon for me! The stylist who cut my hair did a really good job of comprehending the cut I was looking for and the cut turned out fine. Here is the problem and the reason I will not go back - I do NOT at all like when stylist do not cut your bangs and face framing when your hair is dry. This is a non starter for me.

    Tonia K.

So I went in for a cut based on this rating. I specifically said last time my hair was cut it was still with some dead ends. The place is meh and my hair didn't feel really clean after the girl washed it. Paid too much for way too little. Spa price Fantastic Sams vibe. I am looking at my ends and seeing total weirdness.

Im looking to get blonde highlights on my dark hair , i want to lighten the color a bit so the highlights look nice. ( Almost like an ombre hair , where the scalp is brown and to the tips it fades to blonde) How much would this be?

Good morning, To give an exact price quote please book a complimentary consultation with one of our stylist and they can provide a price for you.

Hi! I have curly hair style 3B, and I'm looking for a texturizing service that willNOT straighten it, just relax it enough to make it wavy. I've done this in the past but abroad. Do you do that?

Good morning, Yes this is something we could do.You can call the salon and book a Consultation that is Complementary and ask for Rick that way he can see your hair.

Front desk and aesthetician (Amber) both treated me well and seemed to have great costumer service. About 24 hours after my wax I noticed some very irritated spots on my bikini line. I followed the healing instructions given to me by Amber, assuming because I have sensitive skin maybe my healing would be a longer process. Day three following the wax I woke up to severe marks with severe pain. Researching it myself it seemed to be a burn. At this point I was not upset with Amber or the company, things happen and I was very understanding. I simply want to make sure I was not going to scar and was also wanting advice on how to treat it because I was in pain. I called the store with the intentions of asking the professional for advice and guidance on how to handle this. I am not an aesthetician and have zero knowledge on this process. First the receptionist, was kind letting me know Amber had left for the day but she will call me first thing in the morning. I was shocked when the receptionist told me to "treat it like any other burn" feeling as if she blew me off and did not show any compassion I told her I was upset with how she spoke to me. She quickly apologized saying she was not educated on this and that she did not mean to come across that way. The next day I got a call from Amber, she immediately was defensive telling me that "my wax was not even hot that day" and "this has never happened to me, so I'm don't know how this happened" I told her I was simply looking for guidance because this was very painful and I was concerned about scaring. Amber responded with "I guess put neosporin on it and avoid tight clothing." She not one time asked to see photos or even to see me. I then began to get emotional, and told her I was very disappointed because all I wanted was her help through this. She responded with "I told you to put neosporin on it, I'm not sure what else you want me to say" I let her know as the professional I wish she could assist me in helping the injury she caused me. I paid for a service and got hurt, I think any company or licensed professional would show compassion and want to help the client they injured. I was very upset so I said ok thank you and ended the call. Still in pain and visually very unhappy with how my body looked I contacted another licensed aesthetician, simply for advice. The first thing this professional asked me was to see a picture so she could help figure out what was going on. She then informed me it does not look like a burn but instead something called "lifting" as well as bad bruising. She talked me through how this can happen to someone and let me know how to treat it and that it should only go on for another 6 days or so. I am so disappointed in "Brazilian beekini wax" as a company. I am not upset about the injury because things happen, but I am upset with how I was spoken too and how there was zero compassion and zero care for my body or safety. Instead they gaslit me making me feel stupid and as if it was my fault that my skin reacted this way. I never once asked for a refund, I was even going to return I simply was looking for help and care from the person responsible and the licensed professional that I trusted with my body. I tried to reach out to owner/manager privately and not run to help, however I have been ignored. I truly hope they don't make anyone else feel this way. These are photos of my body 3 days after the wax. It is currently 7 days and the redness is down but skin is peeling and severe itch. I'm hoping there is now scaring, and I'm left very disappointed and let down.

Pushed my appointment up because of their scheduling error after I explicitly stated that would conflict with my work hours. Then the receptionist had a smug attitude when I called about it so I canceled my appointment. I was able to find a 5 star rated competitor in the area with comparable prices to give me the appointment time I signed up for.

Im new to Tampa and walked by PiaDay Spa. It is well established and tons of reviews so I figured they must be doing something right. I ended up purchasing a facial with microdermabrasion and a scalp treatment which wasn't inexpensive by any means but it's a day spa and you pay for that time to get your treatment and relax. Timing wise, these two services alone would both have me at the spa for at least two hours. -----I was there for an hour and 25 minutes. Aside from being gipped on time considerably, the estheticians technique was rushed, and lacked serious intention. The overall vibe was lackluster and inexperienced (just doing a job to have a job ) I felt like I wasted my money a little bit so I was disappointed!
