While it was a weekend, anyone living in an area serviced by a well knows, how irritatingly inconvenient it is to be without water for more than 15 minutes. I had a similar experience this summer when we woke to no water and I called the local company I have used in the past. He failed to answer within a few hours, so I googled well service in Glastonbury and made calls to two other local companies. Within 10 minutes, Mr Ripley the owner of Northeast Well called back and said he could come out within an hour. "Believe it or not", he arrived within the promised time and thankfully diagnosed the issue as a simple blown switch which was replaced in record time. While here, he mentioned I should think about having the well cap replaced since it was loose and not secured allowing stuff to enter the pipe. He quoted me what sounded like a reasonable price and since he came so promptly even though we were not a longtime customer, I decided to give him the okay to do the work then if he had time. In no time at all, I had a shiny, secure new blue well cap! Mr Ripley, "Charlie" owns this Glastonbury business and has operated it for 30 years. Being a homeowner here for 25 years, I was surprised to learn this since there seems to be two other companies in town that everyone uses and I had never heard of it. I am happy to recommend this company and I will call Northeast Well Pump first if I ever have a well issue because of the way he handled my summer well issue and his prompt response to my friend this weekend. It was 140 ft deep and…read moreduring my home inspection upon purchased of the home, the well was said to barely perform at standard requirement but passed. The very first day we moved in, we ran out of water. This "running out of water" cycle continued daily for years. We were apprehensive about having guests because if we flushed the toilets or took showers or ran the dishwasher the house was out of water for 3-4 hours. I had enough and decided to get a new well. Call Dalmik directly if you want a new well or have questions. Do NOT and I repeat DO NOT go through Banner Water. Banner wanted to charge me $15K-$20K to put the well in and they weren't even doing the well drilling and that price didn't even include excavating the line from the well to the house. They were up charging like 80% cost. I still cannot believe this practice is even legal. Luckily I called Dalmik directly. They came to my house within 1 day. Drilled my well. I must admit I am a lucky one because the new well is like 18 gallons a minute. It produces enough water to irrigate a golf course for eternity. They were honest. Provided great service. They were fair. Most importantly they did the job RIGHT the first time!

After being recommended to Sima by our water filtration provider, I called them first thing in the morning. By early afternoon they had someone out to check out our system. I had already resigned myself to the idea that our 21 year old pump had died and was just hoping that it wasn't a dry well situation. The Sima tech systematically checked the whole system to make sure he fully diagnosed the whole issue. He was able to find the root cause was an electrical short. He fixed that and got our water back up and running very quickly. He could have easily told me that I needed a new pump and I would have completely believed him and bought it. Instead, he was honest and charged a very reasonable price for his labor. I couldn't be happier and will definitely be calling once my old pump really does go! You can trust this company.

He would try to get somebody out in the afternoon, but his teams were on a big job across in another part of the state. He promised me 8:30 the next morning at the latest. Great! I could live with that. He answered all my questions and instilled confidence that it would be working again soon. The next morning, as promised, three guys showed up 15 minutes early and were ready to roll. Scott, Carl, and Gianni were fantastic. Scott asked me a few questions, answered a few of mine, and they got right to work. Nick has a great team in these guys. Two hours later, they were done and I had a new pump installed and improvements made to some additional plumbing. Our first experience with Plumbums was excellent - we had an emergency issue, Jim was able to come…read moreout within an hour or two and get it fixed, and he was on his way. When our pipes froze during the big storm this January (thankfully, without water in them), we decided to hire Plumbums again. That didn't go as well. Quality of work: The fixes Jim suggested (a series of individual junction fixes) seemed reasonable for the repairs needed, but in some cases replacing whole sections would have been more time- and cost-efficient (according to other plumbers we've had in our home who have seen the work done). And we needed four return visits within our first three days living in the house to address issues that had not been resolved or that popped up as soon as we turned systems on. One problem (heat running constantly on our first floor, making the house over 80 degrees in the winter) was unresolved until I researched possible causes myself and communicated that to Jim, who sent out one of his guys to implement the fix. Professionalism: We were frustrated by the lack of care shown toward our property. Jim's guys left plumbing debris (not just the stuff our homeowner's insurance requested, but just straight-up trash), food trash, and drywall dust in our basement and living areas. This means that the first thing we had to do after driving 3,200 miles to move in was clean up after them. Drywall was removed roughly in several locations, and although patching was not included in the estimate, the cuts themselves appeared unnecessarily sloppy (and our new plumber neatly cuts and replaces drywall as a matter of course, leaving the mudding to us, which is fine). Plumbums did work well with our insurance company to get our claim handled, and ultimately we have working plumbing. But our experience wasn't great.
