This towing company caused multiple thousands of dollars' worth of damage to my motorcycle during a tow. The damage was not noted in the police report when the bike was handed off to Rafael's team from RoadOne Towing, and a video recorded by a detailer earlier that same day shows no damage to the motorcycle. When the bike was returned to me, it had multiple cracked fairings and a fracture in the airbox. After speaking with a BMW service center, I was informed that the damage is consistent with the motorcycle being handled improperly from the front and/or dropped onto its front suspension during unloading. I reported these damages to their representative on the 20th while the motorcycle was still in their possession. Although I do not have that representative's name, I returned the following day, the 21st, to retrieve the bike from impound and spoke with Sammy and Eileen at their Eastgate complex. They told me they had notified their supervisor and that I would hear back within three days or less. Since then, I have made multiple phone calls and even returned to the location where the motorcycle was stored in an attempt to speak with someone in person. I have repeatedly been told that only their supervisor, Rafael, can assist me. However, he has declined to take my calls--even when I have called from the service center--and has not returned any of my messages. It has now been more than two weeks; I have spoken with seven different staff members and have received no response regarding the extensive damage done to my property. My car got towed five days ago, and on the first day I called and was told the fee is $450+ $65 per day. Mean and they should've only charged me $450 + 4x $65 yet they also charged me an additional $65 for the first day it was in. If that wasn't enough the counter attendant, Alexis, is an incompetent, rude slob. She asked me to sign the receipt and she didn't place it down well enough so it rolled away from the slot, to the point it was out of my reach. I asked her to hand me the receipt to which she responded, "Yeah, you get a receipt once you sign." So I repeated, "okay, I need that receipt." To which she responded, "you get one once you sign!" As she tossed a copy of that same receipt at the window. So I said, "How about you look and hand me the receipt so I can." That's when she got up and handed it to me?!! The "young" lady there was beyond inconsiderate and rude. From the moment I showed up she was on the phone with someone else, giggling away. She brought me out to my car that was destroyed from being in an accident two days prior. I was really struggling emotionally looking at my car, like wow I feel like shouldn't have servived. She was hounding me for my insurance which was somewhere in my car that I couldn't get into. She was so mean, called me and my partner names. I understand they have to do their job but if I could get in the car to find my insurance, I would have given it to her. Told her to get in and try and find it. So your car was impounded, or towed, get ready because as if your day isn't going bad enough, it's about to get worse. Either the tow truck driver or one of the employees at the site WILL go through your car and take valuables as it happened to me (around $350 total value), I have a hard time believing I'm the only one this has happened to. You can file a claim on site but good luck because it probably just goes straight to to the shredder, you can try to reach the main office but they don't care and will just connect you with the original site. The supervisor (Brian as I was told) leaves the office early every day so hopefully you can take time off work to go and see him to talk about your claim, no chance he'll reach out after repeated calls and leaving messages for him, and at least out of courtesy tell you; "F*ck off you're never getting your things back". Release of liability was complete and car was signed over as CA law requires and a year later collections is sending in the mail letters threatening you owe $$$ yet DMV provided dates of 3x car was physically sold to different places before the 1st letter from collections was sent! And when questioned conveniently Roaddumb couldn't find any paperwork! That's ok though DMV had all the dates of sales bc I still have the VIN & license plate number of the car! He then moved his truck to public street so he wouldn't be legally obligated to return my property. He stated the parking in that zone is from 7pm-7am, which is not stated on ANY sign regarding parking. My apartment manager came out to instruct him to drop my car and even then he would not drop it. $400 and some minor damages to my car later I had to pay for the "tow drivers time", during his time they were moving 15+ cars from the area and this event fell back onto me. Wow had my Motorcyle stolen in Point Loma (12/20). It was recovered two weeks ago by SDPD. A ROAD ONE TOWING employee informed me that they had my vehicle and it was okay to pick it up the following day or next week even. There was never a mention about storage fees, rates, tow expenses, nothing. Keep in mind my vehicle was stolen broad daylight while I was grocery shopping. If your vehicle is stolen and recovered by SDPD immediately request a hearing because it must be made within 10 days from the date of the notice you receive from SDPD; in my case it was from National City Police Department. For all I know Road One could've stole my vehicle, recovered it and then charged me $250 to keep it and sell it. Pamela is their supervisor and she was extremely difficult to speak with. They employed another large guy to try and scare me out of the building when I asked who told me they'd store the vehicle "no problem". If your vehicle is stolen, you may have the right to a hearing to determine legality of the storage if you choose to contest "legality of the storage" you must request a hearing in writing, in person, or by telephone. This "vehicle storage hearing" is an informal process to determine whether or not a vehicle has been stored legally. I believe Road One Towing did not legally store my vehicle but because I missed the 10 day period I'm sh** out of luck. I hope this helps someone else!! read more

This tow should have only taken 30 of tow time at the most and they changed for 70 min. Absolute criminal business practice. These people are scammers. They towed my car after 10:00pm for no reason - my car was parked on the residential street that I live on, not violating a single sign or blocking anything. When I got home from school the next day, I saw that my car was missing, called the police thinking it was stolen, and they told me it was towed by Road One. I called them immediately to see where I should go to pick up my car and why it was towed. Immediately the person on the phone was rude and unhelpful. I went straight there and presented them with all of the paperwork that they said I would need. The guy behind the desk told me there was an issue, as my car was purchased under my fathers name, so I couldn't get my car back. Instead of telling me what I can do to get my car back, he just sat there smirking and repeating over and over again that "your father can come pick up HIS car." I told him that he lives far away and that there has to be some other way that I can get my car back. He refused to help me and kept suggesting that I come back another day, so that I would get charged an extra day. When I asked to speak to someone else, he lied and said there was no one else to speak to, when I later saw that there were at least 3 other people there. Eventually, he gave me the phone number to autoreturn.com, and they informed me that they don't help with these issues and that "he just gave me their number to try to get rid of me." I asked for the number of someone who could actually help me and he gave me the number to SDPD, clearly thinking he was really funny. I fought with this man for over an hour before we were able to figure out that we needed to get a letter written by my dad & notarized before he would release my car to me. When I sent the notarized letter to him, he took his time before finally accepting it. Then he gives me the invoice and I notice that although he quoted me $300, he was trying to charge me $360. I asked him why this invoice is more than what he told me and he tried to tell me that since it was now after 5pm, I would be charged for an after-hours fee. I had arrived well before 5pm, but had been there for over an hour arguing with him. He insisted that he couldn't do anything to get rid of the fee until I showed him that I took a time-stamped photo when I arrived at the impound lot. As soon as he heard that he was suddenly able to remove the fee. These people were rude, disgusting scammers who purposefully waited until after 10pm to tow my car, while giving me no explanation as to why exactly it was towed. They tried to take advantage of the situation, looking to get as much money as they could from me. If you have a choice, do not EVER let these people anywhere near your car. read more

As he was looking for my vehicle he was moving others with a fork Lyft without any care to the other cars as if if were a junk yard. I'm laughing at the bogus five star reviews especially the one with the 2019 Ferrari LOL. But in all honesty in this company has a government contract and could care less about their bogus rates. Our truck lost a wheel on the freeway and while I was calling another tow company of course see HP had called Road one and they showed up first. They hooked up the truck without taking a signature or any sort of negotiation of rates. I waited for them five minutes away at our local tire place where the truck was being towed to. It took them two hours to arrive. I had one of my friends even go back to make sure nothing had happened and the driver was sitting in his truck. Upon arrival he stated it would be 250 per hour even though it was less than 2 miles away and he needed to unhitch the truck so it would be three hours before we were all said and done. I called the office and they stated if I do not pay him this ridiculous rate of towing even though it could have taken him 20 minutes to get to our location after hooking up the truck they would impound my vehicle. Furthermore they would keep the truck in pounded until the supervisor was able to reach out to me which would be 3 to 4 days before a supervisor was scheduled to be on shift according to the woman on the phone. They would charge me a daily rate plus the towing equaling a few thousand dollars if I didn't pay them right then and there it's ridiculous to 50 an hour times three hours for a tow that was less than 2 miles away. Basically it does feel as if as soon as they get a hold of your property they can jack up the rate without concern for the consumer. I totally understand there are emergency situations, but towing a car a few miles off the freeway should definitely not equal $800. I feel like they were definitely taking advantage of me because they were called by CHP and I think that is very unfair. To make matters even more exciting I did not have my wallet my credit card so they were giving me a hard time about paying the next day on the phone. Unless I could come up with money right then and there they would not put my vehicle down and they were taking the minutes away. I had to borrow the credit card the tire place and have them put it on my bill so that we would stop the clock on the minutes of this tow truck driver charging me every minute that he was sitting there even though we were just trying to problem solve a problem that road one Towing had created. read more

Road One Towing is now the pick up spot for cars shipped through Pasha. This is the second time I've shipped a car from Hawaii through Pasha but the first time it's been here. The girl at the front took my ID and told me it'd be about ten minutes. It probably only took about five for a guy to come by and tell me my car was out front. They pull it to the front and have you inspect it before sending you on your way. I was a little disappointed in how dirty it got both outside and on the inside mat in the drivers seat but this place is literally a dirt lot so I guess it's hard to avoid. I recently parked my 2019 Ferrari Testarosa Limited Edition $1.5M car in the ambulance lane at Scripps ER, blocking traffic and causing an ambulance backup for blocks. When I walked back from the bars after a few beers later that morning, I found out that my car had been towed. At first I was angry, then scared as my Grandma gave me that car right before she died. But when I found out that it was towed by Road One Towing I looked up I to the sky and thanked God! I knew they gave superior customer service, but this just outststanding. When I lost my receipt, I though for sure that I would have to pay again. My case was escalated to Heidi Garlin in the management office. I could not believe how helpful she was! She was able to cut through the red tape and work the system to generate a new receipt, and I had my Ferrari almost immediately. She was not only helpful, but also hilarious, charming and beautiful! I asked her out on a date, but of course she was taken. While I don't hope my car gets towed, I do hope that if it does it is towed by the exceptional team at Roadone towing. I had the fuel pump of my '65 G.T.O. show car fail on the freeway coming back from the Good Guys Del Mar car show. I called Road One and Gabe the manager sent Mike and Giovanni to tow me home. They showed up in 15 minutes and Ohhh so gently put it on the bed of the tow truck. They used no chains or metal hooks that could cause damage. They sooo carefully strapped the wheels with soft, strong straps. What talented professionals they were that they accurately rolled my hot rod into the garage and lined it up to one inch of the marks on the carpet so the garage door could close. They steal. I was a passenger in an accident and the car got towed with my personal belongings in it. I went to the tow yard the very next morning to get my wallet and stuff like that and turns out they had rummage through my entire purse and stole my money. Not only did they steal my money which was $100 bills they replaced it with 4 20$ bills.
