Today started out like any other, what I didn't expect was getting stuck in San Diego. I looked up on yelp for nearby tow places and I gave Victors Towing a call. I checked their rates and by far they were the best. In about 45 mins Jesse arrived to tow my car. I live all the way in north county, so it's a little bit out of their way to bring my car home. Victor's Towing really came through for my crew!! I rented a 16' box truck with a heavy duty lift gate to do some moving during the recent torrential rains. The truck was pulled up onto the grass, close to the doors to try to move the cargo easier. But, because the ground was so saturated, the grass provided no traction, and the truck became stuck as the tires spun in the mud! After calling 4 or 5 towing services in growing despair, most couldn't winch a truck so big and heavy, or they wanted a TON of money, or they couldn't get there for hours. By then, it was dark, on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. The cold rain was pouring at record-breaking volume. Made one more call to see if anyone could help. Victor, the owner, answered personally and agreed to come out in the rain to try to winch the huge truck out of the deepening mud! It took a while, as each time he winched it out of one hole, the tires spun a new hole! Finally, after inching across the flooded grass to the street, Victor was the soaked-to-the-bone hero! I've used a lot of tow companies and some were bad... Some were good.... But Victor's is GREAT! My wife's car was hit by a truck. The driver of the truck was on the phone. With the paramedics, CHP, SDPD and witnesses on site it was chaotic. Tow trucks stopped by and pressured her to have the car towed to a yard for $300-$500. She called me. I said no. I called Victor's because I've used them before. They arrived within 30 minutes and towed it for much less. Now his insurance company will probably reimburse me for the tow and the cost does not matter but I'm glad I used Victor's towing because they were careful with my car.... Even though it's totaled. Nobody likes having to call for a tow. That said, these guys did a great job when I needed one a couple weeks ago due to a belt suddenly failing on my car. They were communicative, reasonably priced, professional, and very fast. I called them for quote and estimated timeframe--on a Saturday no less--and they were able to make it to my place within a half hour. The dispatcher told me the driver would call "when he's about 5 or 10 minutes away," which is exactly what happened. Once Hector arrived on site, he was able to quickly secure my car and tow it to the local body shop. He was friendly, attentive, and careful and gave me some swag (pen and keychain) after I signed the towing agreement.
