Ridiculously long wait: one hour and 20 minutes to get my breakfast. They did not tell me this when I arrived and placed my order and after about 45 minutes, they only informed me that they were running behind. They obviously don't have enough staff to deal with high demand periods. I'm never coming here again. The food is good but it's not that food and I can go to IHOP or Perkins and never have to wait that long or at least they tell me if the wait is long when I show up. We came here after church and had a nice breakfast. They made my hash browns nice and crispy so I was really happy about that! Everyone liked their breakfast but I was not wowed except for the large orange juice. It's a nice tall glass! The service was great. I've never been to a breakfast place that is also a bar and a casino...very interesting place. I would come back to try lunch or dinner. read more

It's open 24/7 and it's always open everytime I go when I need food at odd hours. And the waitress is always right on the mark w my order and she reads my mind. She's sharp and kind. The food is always decent and served hot. For a diner it's actually better than some restaurants in Grand Forks so if I need some honest to goodness good food to fill me up and don't want to wait 45' I will go there over and over. Hash browns nice and golden and eggs done just right. Hot cakes yummy. They cook it fast and even take out is packed hot. Stayed hot in cold ND weather for my drive home. read more

They have a few good options, but can't cook a scrambled egg to save their life. If you are expecting buttery pillows of egg curd, you will be disappointed: Flat empty omelets full of sadness are a specialty. Go to Perkins or Grandma Butterwicks for decent eggs. The one star is not for the service itself, which has always been exceptional, but for the business. Do not advertise you are 24-7 when you are not. You were closed at 140 am on a Sunday, but your "open 24 hours" sign was lit. Rather than scamming advertising that suits management's desires, focus on the people who like your customers and are there for them no matter the time... If you're not open 24 hours every day, don't advertise you are. Pretty easy read more

Where to start... we sat down and were greeted promptly. We got our drinks and she took our order. 2 other takes came in well after us and they both received their food way before us. When ours finally came, it was wrong. We ordered chicken melts on sour dough, but we received chicken quesadillas. Not even close. We asked for one with no cheese due to a lactose issue, and they both had cheese. Also didn't get our sides. When the bill came, we were charged for the sides! I dint think we'll be back. read more

This place is great. It's a quaint average diner atmosphere, and the staff have always been polite. I've come here multiple times and never left disappointed. Prices are good, and you never leave hungry. I suggest you ask about the soup of the day, and they have the best cheddar broccoli soup I've had anywhere in town. They serve breakfast all day, and if you're craving that comfort breakfast food you'd expect from a roadside diner, COME HERE! Their breakfast is spectacular. I will say be careful with the pancakes as they are huge. I'm also a big fan of their turkey club sandwich and would recommend that if you're not feel breakfast. Never would've guessed! Sandwiched in a truckers gas station plaza is this delicious gem of a cross between old style cafe and east coast diner. My husband said 3 times "I'm really surprised". His toast was buttered all the way to the edge...the "real" bacon and the sausage patties were delicious, as were the American fried potatoes and my made to order crispy hash browns. They didn't have gluten free toast and so offered other options...including cottage cheese, which I happily accepted. They have homemade pies which are made fresh in the wee hours of the morning! Very disappointing breakfast. Very small portions for the price. Hashbrowns and bacon cooked well just not much there. Toast was cold and awful with a thick layer of some sort of margarine "spread" that wouldn't melt. Two small breakfasts and one cup of undrinkable coffee was just under $30. Should have went to McDonalds or any other place than this. Also bring a coat, it was absolutely freezing in there. Just an all around poor experience. read more

Being on the road is always difficult when your a fat kid and you are on a graveyard sleep schedule. My "dinner time" is usually around 4am. After some yelping I found a review that said this place was 24 hours. I thought this was a better bet than IHOP. I don't know why I didn't realize it until I drove up to the place but this is a truck stop type diner. It's nestled between the main gas station and a little casino type deal. Not that that's a bad thing, just sayin'. It actually looks fairly new and is well kept. Anywho, the food is your typical greasy spoon kind of menu. They gravy seems to be made on site. The hash browns are good. So is the bacon, and the sausage and they keep the syrup warm. If you need to pull an all-nighter they also have carafes of coffee. The service is also great. You always worry about being 'that guy' that comes in during their slow period. The waitress was very pleasaAs long as I'm in town I'll be a regular. read more

Dropped in for morning breakfast on my way out of town. You seat yourself after walking in the door. Sat down and immediately placed my drink order. Returned several minutes later and took my order. I went with the All Meat Skillet. Food took a while to come out. And I do mean awhile. Thus the 4 rating. It was bacon, sausage,eggs, and potatoes with a choice of toast or pancakes. I selected pancakes. The cakes were fresh thick and fluffy. Really good. The skillet was delicious too. Could've used some onions and maybe peppers for added flavor. The two bacon always actually thick cut and not that cheap crappy stringy stuff. Also came with two sausage links. Overall good diner food. read more

Despite its plain vanilla contemporary truck stop decor, the Roadhouse Cafe is a legit diner. Hash browns were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the scrambled eggs were just right - not too done, but not runny either. Kids' pancakes were great. Service was exceptionally friendly, just like you would expect at a classic American diner. The only knock from five stars to four was that my French toast was a little light on the batter and the syrup was clearly the bottom rung from their mass-market supplier. I absolutely love truck stop diners and small family owned restaurants. And this place was no exception. I ordered the Roadhouse omelette and I was very good. The hash browns could have been crispier but I should have asked that when I ordered. Food came super fast. The service was wonderful! I had Amarra ( hope I spelled her name right) as my waitress and she was extremely pleasant and very attentive. I will eat breakfast here every time I'm in the Forks from now on. Three of us picked up lunch to go. I ordered the French dipper with Au jus, French fries , and a piece of strawberry rhubarb pie. The fries were very good, the French dipper was good, not the best I ever had. The only real issue was my strawberry rhubarb pie turned out to be cherry, not my favorite. We had breakfast here on our way up to Winnipeg. Service was prompt and friendly. The omelet was delicious and not one of those big oversized monstrosities that is impossible for most people to finish. It's a great place to come to at night. They used to be 24/7 everyday but because of what I think might be short staff they're only 24/7 on Friday and Saturday night. The lighting here and the wall colors is the nice warm and welcoming vibes you'd want with how cold it gets up here in ND. Food is good and they bring you the pancakes in a warm nice little syrup container. It's like a Perkins in that it's an upscale version of Denny's or IHOP. The place also seems to look so clean. If you happen to get Kelsey as your server during the night shift consider yourself lucky. She's one of the best here in my opinion and knows her stuff. She's very hospitable/very attentive and super chill/down to earth. I'd imagine finding people to work throughout the night would be hard at Roadhouse(without being grumpy or slacking) let alone finding quality servers like herself. read more

Our food was served cold. I ordered bacon crispy and it was cold and burnt. I also had mashed potatoes that are old baked potatoes that are mashed up and water is used to thin them out. Our server was quick to come to the table but was extremely rude not just to us but all of the customers in her section. No one even apologised for any of it. We will not go back read more

Horrible. Waited 45 minutes for breakfast. Two people who came in 15 minutes after me got their food and ate and left before I got mine. Steak and egg special. Eggs were bland. Steak was half the size of a dollar bill and very over cooked. Ordered medium rare got very well done. Couldn't eat it even with ketchup on it. Wasn't going to wait another hour for a new one. Hash browns were under cooked. Highlight of the meal was the toast Had lunch here two days prior and wasn't much better but thought would give a second chance they will not get another one from me. I had the WORST dining experience of my life at this diner. I am a regular who has brought in a LOT of business of the past few years. I would have NEVER thought that I wouldn't ever go back. Granted, it was dinner time, and it was initially busy. However, every table that was there before me, had food already. It took the "server" 10 minutes to acknowledge us and give us menus. It took 24 minutes to get our drink and food orders, and another 10 to get our waters. Meanwhile, all of the tables that were there before us were finishing their meals and leaving. I counted 15 dirty tables that were never bussed. Then I just stopped counting. I saw 3 couples walk in and then turn around and leave because nearly every table was dirty. After 45 minutes had gone by, after our food order was placed, our "server" came up to us and explain that there were no mashed potatoes left. THIS IS DINNER TIME. It was 7:15 PM. This wouldn't have been a problem, had we been notified IMMEDIATELY upon ordering. She literally said, "Could I just get you a soup or something else, so the guys don't have to make more mashed right now". How rude. This is your job. Or be more apologetic, because the way she went about it was all wrong. We got up and left after we had sat there for one whole hour. ONE HOUR. Not a morsel of food was served, the server was no where to be found, and she didn't seem like she cared much for her job. I have been a server for over 10 years. I have NEVER witnessed such laziness on the slowest of nights, with the shittiest of co-workers. There was NO sense of urgency, there was no sense of mutual respect, and she obviously didn't care if she had a job to do or not. I am telling everyone I know to stop giving this diner business.
