I asked him how it could be possible and he answered " they just don't care ". I called their head office and their answer was exactly what the attendant said. I made appointments for today to run errands, took an Uber there and back to my house for nothing. Save your money and patience and rent from a decent company such as enterprise or even discount. Clearly Hertz doesn't care about their customers nor their reputation.

Both times were an extremely smooth and pleasant process. I had never rented cars before this (all my previous experiences were with Zipcar) and probably had some stupid questions for them. Each time, whether by phone or in the office, my questions were answered patiently. I did the process online. They have a service where you can start your check-in process online and it really does speed up the time you're in the rental office. I spent a total of 5 minutes each time. They always gave me a choice of cars in the class I had chosen. I don't know much about car makes and models, so I appreciated that each time, the salesperson gave me a brief description on my car options and also gave me suggestions without being overly technical on car details. My last rental he suggested because it was a smooth ride. Boy was he right! We drove to Niagara Falls and everyone in the car commented on how easy the drive was. I also love their Express Return service. I had driven to a club and although my return time was 10am, I returned it right after the club so that I could get home right away and sleep in. This location being on Dufferin was extremely convenient. As soon as I walked out to Dufferin, I caught a cab to take me home--and that was at 6:30am. I received my receipt by email the next day. No hidden fees or extra charges. From start to end, both of my experiences with Hertz would make me rent from them again. My zipcard may start collecting dust for awhile.

Rented a cargo van at the beginning of April. When I was parked overnight, someone drove by and…read morebroke the driver side mirror. When I called the insurance company, I got conflicting information on whether or not I needed to file a police report (I later read that in the pamphlet they gave me). Regardless, when I went to drop it off and was asking about the insurance/ deductible, the employee told me: "Well, you can't prove it wasn't you, so you have to pay the deductible' but in an accusatory tone, as if I actually broke the mirror off myself (which is basically impossible). Next thing that happened was I called in to get a quote after not hearing from anyone for a week- stating that the cost was 850$ to replace and fix the mirror and that they would waive the 150$ admin fee they normally charge (which is basically stated no where) for my 'troubles'. I asked around a few places and a few mechanics who basically laughed at the cost they charged me. I contacted customer service explaining what had happened. A number of days later, I finally got my invoice e-mailed to me and was told again they would waive the '150$ admin fees since I'm unhappy' (again, tell me where they state they will be charging a 150$ admin fee to begin with). I did get the 150$ back.... The invoice states the mirror is around 650$ and the work was 66$. However, the code they gave me for the mirror is incorrect. I even called ford who said that it doesn't exist. Searching on the internet for mirrors for the type of cargo van I rented yields results of about 250-400$. I contacted customer service again stating the code they gave me is incorrect. Haven't heard back from them and it's a week later. I am willing to admit that it's possible the mirror does cost that much despite all the evidence otherwise but they have been having terrible communication with me and are extremely shady. The whole rental process was great in the beginning. Great customer service when I went to pick it up. But after I returned with it damaged, they were acting as if I did it on purpose, did not communicate with me and gave me incorrect information. I will never rent with discount cars again and I will also be putting this review everywhere I can and tell all family/friends/coworkers how shady they are. I will also be doing more research on the actual cost myself as soon as I'm home (as I'm away for work currently). If it turns out they over-charged me, I will be contacting the better business bureau and filing a complaint. If I'm wrong, I will edit most of this review to reflect the outcome. Regardless, is all this trouble worth renting with them again? Absolutely not.

I had a little helper who was incredibly hospitable, energetic and rambunctious. I believe her name was Carolina or Cecilia, can't remember but she was the friendliest in the room. She broke everything down for me and made it so easy for me to understand the contract, policies and cost. Covered all the questions I would have without me even having to ask and even did a through walk through around the vehicle with me, introducing me to all the extra setting like Bluetooth connectivity, changing unit system from KM to MPH and how to adjust the navigation system. Made my trip easy and safe. Definitely will be recommending to my family and friends. Bravo

My mechanic found that it should have never passed an inspection (it was purchased with a safety inspection). The bar under the front bumper was caved in, the bumper was falling off, there were issues with the Cadillac converter, the airbags werent working and the airbag lights were not on the dash, among other things. I asked for a refund and they refused, stating they would fix the issues. They had my car for about a month and refused to give me a free rental for the first three weeks. I'm a single mother and a full time student, I couldn't get myself or my children to school during this period of time. I was so behind on school work, although I had been doing it at home, I had missed much of the in class content, and nearly failed the entire semester. When I received my car back within a day the engine light was on again, the gas cap light was on again and it seems as if nothing was fixed. Additionally, the rental they gave me had parts inside that were literally glued together. I have been trying to figure out what my rights are (apparently I don't have many options) and trying to get time to bring it back to my mechanic while trying to pass my semester, be a full time mother and get through this brutal inflation that has hit so many of us hard... I can't afford to continuously drive to Toronto to get my car fixed when it was bought with a safety certificate......which has clearly been faked because there are too many issues to have passed. I got this car a little over a year ago now and need a new one already because it never should have been sold. Beyond disappointed with this place and would give it 0 stars if I could. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. Incompetent and untrustworthy. I had an excellence experience with gardiner motors, very honest people working there. Can't say the same for auto point.
