It is very obvious from the unsatisfactory appearance that your employee lied to me and never applied the primer. He also agreed to use fiberglass tape because paper drywall tape has a tendency to bubble if not properly applied, which it has now. Moreover, the cause for drywall tape bubbling or cracking is almost always not enough mud under the tape or too much mud on top. This was not the professional job I expected.

He quoted four days but rushed through it in two, cutting corners and clearly skipping essential prep work to get out faster. He painted over everything--hinges, vents, cable cords, and outlet receptacles--which I had to replace at my own expense. He didn't use drop cloths under the baseboards before painting them, and so the paint streaks and splotches on the concrete slabs had to be sanded down by the installers before laying laminate, costing me more time and money. For the price I paid, I expected more professionalism and attention to detail. I would not recommend him based on my experience.

We worked through a couple referred painters and weren't impressed. Finally, I found Victor Martinez. He called me right back, set up an appointment to see the job and even showed up on time! We needed our family room, hallway and living room painted and we're a family of five, so we had stuff painters were going to have to work around. I also fantasized about having the ceiling painted, but didn't think it was possible because of the stuff he'd have to work around to get it done. Victor came in and assessed the job, said he could get it all done in a couple of days. I thought, no way. He even said he could do the ceiling with another half day added on. He and his partner, also Victor, came in and got right to work. They did the first coat of the ceiling, were careful to tape so my new hard wood floors didn't get drips, they moved the stuff covered it with plastic and worked around it and did a FANTASTIC job. They were efficient, hard working and I trusted the price as being on target with the effort. Especially, after getting other bids that were ridiculous, from flaky bidders. I used to like painting everything myself, but am past the age and inclination. I would totally hire Victor again for anything that needs painting.
