I was recently admitted for a few different things, starting from the ER. While a bit chaotic while they are under renovations for their new wing the nurses and staff made me feel important, and cared for every step of the way. It was a bit scary to see all the hospital beds lined up in the hallways and what not but I was always cared for. The ICU team is incredible! The nurses and doctors stopped by various times throughout the day to assure me they're keeping an eye on things and working on the best form of care to get me home to my little one safely. The nurses made me feel well taken care of. I didn't have my hair brush and one of the nurses braided my hair and talked to me about what was going on so that I wasn't as nervous about things happening. After leaving the hospital I got calls from the staff to make sure I was transitioning at home okay. The cardio team, they are a small but mighty team. I've been here for a few infusions and appointments, the doctors and nurses remember me and my family by name and are always checking in to make sure that the medications and everything is going well. Offering advice and various things to help my transitions. Overall, this is a great hospital! Every department I've experienced so far has been great, and the staff are so friendly.

In April I called to Northwestern Medical to schedule a prescribed "cat scan with & without…read morecontrast". I told them that previously phlebotomists have had to jab me multiple times to find my vein and I could no longer tolerate that type of pain and trauma. So I was scheduled for Lake Forest Hospital for the procedure because they had an Ultrasound to locate the vein. An appointment was made for Wednesday June 10th. I followed all their medical instructions, I went there and laid down on the table when suddenly I was told that No Ultrasound Nurse was scheduled for my procedure. So another Nurse came to inject the vein without the Ultrasound equipment. Her attempt drew blood but did not properly connect up with the vein in order to move forward with the procedure. The pain of the needle jabbing was just terrible! I could not bear a second blind attempt to find the vein, I was becoming nauseous. Half the battle is having the right tools and Lake Forest Hospital failed to properly schedule the Ultrasound Nurse, even though my appointment was made way back in April. How much lead time do they need? I am definitely not coming back here and the kicker is that the small amount of blood that they drew, they sent it for analysis, even though the procedure could not be done. I guess they need to charge the Insurance Company something...

If it was not for Dr. Robbins and his expertise on how to deal with headaches and nerve pain, I would not be here writing this review. Dr. Robbins genuinely cares about his patients, he always takes the time to listen. Through his knowledge as a neurologist and a pharmacologist, we are able to control my pain through Botox injections and medication. Not that I was totally pain free, but he did work to find the best meds that helped my condition the most. He helped me to get most of my functioning back, and got my chronic pain under control far beyond the level that any other doctor was able to. My husband tried 3 times this week to get an appointment with the Libertyville office. The receptionist (same person each time) was incredibly rude, disrespectful and very unwilling to help. She should be fired and I cannot believe that this person would be allowed to work there based on this experience. This was the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced with a healthcare company. I called for my husband not too long ago today and she rudely hung up on me while I was - very nicely may I add - explaining how much pain my husband was in, and that there is a technology issue with receiving information via fax to get an appointment scheduled. There is something wrong with this person. My husband's doctor faxed paperwork over 3 different times this week and they are telling us they are not getting it - hence why I was hoping for an alternative way to receive the paperwork needed to get the appointment. Seems they do not care much for patients or trying to assist with resolving any issues like this that come up. At this point, I'm not even sure I want my husband in the care of this place. A simple test was all that was needed to get scheduled, if they cannot even get that right, how can we trust their medical services too?

He is a down to earth, warm and humorous doctor who shows that he really cares about his patients. If you have MS and the opportunity to see him speak, do so! It's hard to be bummed out about your diagnosis when Dr. Wynn is working with you! He is very positive and teaches patients that your life is what you make of it. If you look on the bright side and have humor, you can survive anything! His trusty sidekick, Nurse Cathy Meyer, is also such a warm, sweet person. You can tell that they both really care about helping their patients have a better quality of life both physically and mentally (read -a great, positive attitude). If you have the chance to meet them, go! I always learn something new when I hear Dr. Wynn speak!
