This man CARED about his patients!! If u had a question he would encourage u to call. He was there for his patients. He took the TIME he needed to make everyone feel COMFORTABLE. So, making your patients feel comfortable is extremely important in this line of work. And Dr. Houy made u as comfortable as possible. Unfortunately Dr. Houy retired. So, I had to go w/ the other dentist. Dr. Gaga Sandu. At first I didn't get any bad vibes. Was he fast & tried to rush u out...YES! But, that was it (atp). Eventually, I had to get major dental surgery! Something that not only terrified me. But, I didn't know much about after care. I was supposed to get the surgery @ AGH & then return to Dr. Gaga Sandu after. Not only did Dr. Sandu cancel appointments w/o notifying me b4 showing up (prior to surgery). He also blatantly LIED TO ME, GASLIT me into thinking the hospitals ER offered something they didn't, & then when MISCOMMUNICATION was happening he refused to take ANY ACCOUNTABILITY & made me out to be some kinda incompetent fool!!!! I was able to get an Emergency appointment (no thanks to Dr. Sandu) & the HOSPITAL whom was ONLY SUPPOSED TO EXTRACT gave me an aftercare paper & told me to call my dentist for a follow up. Which...MADE SENSE! He is in fact my normal dentist that LITERALLY made a "plan" as far as my teeth & what needs done. So, almost a wk later they squeeze me in between appointments. Did NOTHING, told me NOTHING except "this was the hospitals responsibility but sometimes they're lazy & tell u go to the desntist". Like excuse me sir...U R THE DENTIST & this IS INFACT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR AFTERCARE! Get this, I even had to ASK him how I'm even healing! lol!!!!! THIS GUY...DR. GAGA SANDU IS A JOKE!!!! The practice uses AI to analyze x ray imagery and 3D imagery of teeth- everyone knows how prone AI is to hallucinations- and relies on that for diagnosis. Practice is also prone to overtreatment of small caries that can often remineralize on their own. Glad I got a second opinion.

After 6 months, not only is my problem unresolved - but each visit to Verona Dental seems to purposely muddy the waters and make things more complicated. July I was having pain with a cavity under a filling. I was told they could not repair the filling & they outsourced me to get the tooth extracted. I was also told I would need a bridge. August Tooth was extracted somewhere else. That place told me (as an aside) that it was probably unnecessary. (Also would not recommend that procedure) I trusted Verona Dental in their judgement and paid in advance for the temporary + permanent bridge. October The temporary bridge fell out. I called and left messages asking for it to be reattached asap while we waited for the permanent bridge. I talked to the front desk. I left messages several times. I urgently needed it put back in, and I was told it would be fixed. November I arrived at the appointed time and they were running 45m late. I rescheduled. December I needed the temporary bridge to be reattached. I got in and it was reattached. They said January I would get the permanent bridge. Then the temporary bridge came off -- the very next day after my appointment. I called and left a message about the situation and I did not receive a reply. I should not have to call in again. My concerns should be addressed. I have not received anything close to a resolution. I was told I would have a permanent bridge. Six months later: No bridge. No tooth. No temporary bridge in my mouth. All I have are parts in a bag, and these parts should be in my mouth, not in a bag. $4000 in out of pocket expenses and I have nothing to show for it. I feel I have been incredibly patient. Is this a scam? Disappointed in the quality of service. The lack of communication, the substantial cost. I would not recommend. Zero stars.

It a shame cause I liked the work that he had done on my teeth in the past. From reading other reviews it appears that the owner is the problem. I believe that he also owns Excel Dental in Wexford where I also had went to and he did the same thing there with the insurance. He should have, at least, Grandfathered us in and continued to treat us instead of just dropping us like a hot potato. Finally, their cost estimate of what I owed was higher resulting in a small overpayment ($42). I called the office and was assured they would send a checknwhich was never received. Yes, the necessary procedure got done. But there is a whole lot of ego and little to no bedside manner to be had with this provider.

The doctor refused to give me the second dose. He proceeded to give me the Novocain which was excruciating. He repeatedly told me to stop making pain noises in his face. I paid 225 dollars to have that treatment. I paid 225 dollars not to be treated with respect, but to be treated like a child. He didn't respect my fears, I feel totally violated and disrespected.
