Robert is awesome! I recently had a family photo shoot with Robert. Our kids are 3 years old and 1 years old and getting them to pose for pictures was very difficult as you can imagine. Robert was very patient with our kids and selected very good areas to shoot as well as cute family poses. Robert delivered our photos within only a few days of the shoot and they look terrific! He is a very talented photographer. What's more, Robert has a very friendly personality and his rates are the most reasonable I've found in the Tri-Valley area. We were so very fortunate to have had Robert as our wedding photographer. We were amazed at how reasonable his payment structure and rates were compared to his competitors. (Seriously, it's crazy out there.) With him, we were able to work within our limited budget without compromising any of the talent that we were looking for in our photog. From the time of our first meeting, we found that it was easy to feel comfortable with Robert. He was very accommodating with all the changes that occurred prior to our wedding (new day-of schedules, lists of shots wanted, etc.), always available when we needed him (meetings with our planner, our rehearsal), and very quick to respond over the phone or via email. We had a huge Filipino wedding, complete with huge entourage (including sponsors, 8 bridesmaids, 8 groomsmen...). He "studied" their line-up for the ceremony, their names, and their faces (off photos on our wedding website) prior to the wedding. It made such a a huge difference in how organized and comfortable we all were with him the day of. It's a bit of a contradiction, but Robert and his assistant/2nd photog Brian were both very present (easy to find when needed, seemed to be "on" and working the entire time--when did you guys take a break?), but at the same time, they were unobtrusive and captured the natural look and feel of our big day. It's a wonder they kept so calm in the heat of our outdoor summer bash amongst the chaos of 250+ guests. We look back at our album now and feel as though we're experiencing all the magic, craziness, love, excitement, emotion, EVERYTHING from #ELLEFEST2014 all over again. Yes, the group shots are there. Yes, the decor and detail shots are there. There's also the wall-worthy photos of me and hubby (hooray). But all the candids of happy tears, cheersing, laughs--those are the shots that you also hope your photog captures. Robert and Brian did all of the above seamlessly. Robert took our family photos for our entire extended family. Wrangling 12 people (from baby to grandparents!) for one photo is no easy task but he managed to do it without even breaking a sweat! He is so patient and calm and was able to direct everyone where they needed to go. He made sure that we got the right combos of the right people for every shot and used every minute efficiently without making it feel rushed. On the day of our family photo shoot, I was worried... Would I look stiff? Would our house provide an interesting enough of a backdrop? Our family was literally winging it, with little thought to how our outfits would coordinate or where the pictures would be taken. How were these pictures gonna turn out? WELL, from my 5 out of 5 rating, you can tell things went really, really well :) Rob was relaxed and, like a real pro, calmly and creatively suggested great poses and backdrops. We leisurely walked around our house, and into the surrounding oak trees, taking natural and relaxed photos against a beautiful natural setting. Nothing too staged or expected. He was patient with my new born, suggested poses - some real difficult ones with the new born & with the props that we had, selected locations with in home and delivered pictures of the shoot in quick turn around time. This review is way late but so very deserved still. Robert and (co-pilot) Bryan photographed my wedding back in September. When we met Robert he was nice and easy to talk to. Someone that we would get along with just fine since we're pretty chill too. Robert and Bryan were so easy to work with and made us slow down during our day and it's probably exactly what we needed. Because our wedding was at our home and there are so many surrounding homes I worried about the backgrounds and how picturesque things would be but both Robert and Bryan utilized some pretty cool views to get us some perfect moments of our perfect day. We just moved to the east bay and were looking for a photographer to take some family photos. We found Robert through Yelp and booked an appointment with him based on his reviews and images on his website. From the get-go, his communication was excellent which I really appreciate. He's quick to respond to any questions and easy to book an appointment with. He provided great recommendations on locations to shoot since we were not familiar with the area. During the shoot he was fun to work with and great with our two young boys. Most importantly, the images he caught were AMAZING!!! There were so many wonderful ones to choose from! Rob! You're soooo good! Rob was our photographer for our family photos. He had his work cut out for him. We are 5 very opinionated people who 3/5 HATE taking pictures and 1/5 like taking them too much :). Plus me and my sister needed profile pics and he was so willing to accommodate! But more than anything, he made us feel at ease and was able to give us direction and pretty direct feedback in the easiest, most constructive and most efficient way. I have been a naughty little Yelper and have totally slacked off in writing this review. However it's not because Robert doesn't deserve it, in fact, Robert should get 10 stars really. I selected Robert after sifting through over 250 e-mails from photographers (totally not exaggerating either, it was a complete drag). He was the second e-mail I had received and I had a feeling in my gut that he was my guy. Had I actually listened to my gut I would have saved myself a lot of time. I feel very lucky that Robert agreed to take us on, as we of course couldn't do things the easy way. We got married in the middle of January, on a cliff, on top of Mt. Tam. This ceremony was happening rain or shine and Robert was game for it! We had not one, but two, very thorough meetings with Robert. He and his second shooter even trekked up the mountain for one of the meetings; in which I was 25 minutes late and oh so very apologetic!!! Fast forward to the day of our wedding, Robert was punctual and prepared. He employed a second shooter, per our request, who was also fantastic. The day turned out to be truly magnificent; 75 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, not even a breeze! We had a small, intimate dinner following the ceremony and Robert and his guy slyly worked their magic; I didn't even realize they were there half of the time! But the photos...oh my goodness, the photos! I want to cry every time I look at them (marriage has really turned me into a little pansy flower!). The photos are breath taking! For this alone I say: Robert, thank you. You have truly given us one of our most cherished gifts. We have another little baby due this summer and without a doubt I will be asking Robert to come photograph our new little addition. Consider me a customer for life! read more

Robert is a great photographer! I originally worked with him for a photo shoot on my birthday. He did such a great job, my friends and I all loved the way the pictures turned out. I felt funny doing the poses that he suggested but he really knew what he was doing because the pictures looked even better than I had imagined. My mom really liked the way the pictures turned out as well and hired him again to do a family photo shoot. Again the photos from that shoot were also very nice, everyone looked very professional yet there was a familial vibe that ran through each picture. Great photographer for casual, warm family photos! I also found Robert through Living Social, and didn't even read the rave reviews before deciding to hire him. He was very prompt with email in communicating, even though we did have to reschedule a couple of times. But definitely worth the effort and price! We had family portraits done at a local park in Fremont. Robert was very easy to talk to, flexible, and patient with us. He had us in interesting poses, nothing too stiff or traditional. Amazing! Had a one hour holiday photo shoot a couple months ago with Robert. He was impressive working with my two kids (a 4 month old and a 4 year old). Kept them entertained during shooting, gave them breaks, all the while being VERY EFFICIENT with the time. Love the pictures, very professional, easy to work with, laid back. If you are looking for a photographer... Robert should be your final choice!! I have worked with so many photographers (weddings, events, family) and he is really a dream! From my first contact on his website to the final pictures we have been so satisfied. I initially contacted him on his website and he was the first to contact me back and work with the short time frame I was requesting. He was prompt emailing me, sending me clear pricing and instructions. On the day of our photo session, we arrived early for our family photo session and he was there early greeting us in the parking lot! I sent him info on our family as he requested and he knew all of us by name. He already scoped out locations for our pictures and quickly moved us all through the photographs with a great personality, sense of ease and humor. Later that evening he send us a few pics of the session and was finished with all the beautiful pictures within the next couple days! We loved all the pictures, they are done beautifully, edited well and sent us the best so we didn't have to go through all the pictures taken.
