This dealer's dishonesty and lack of professionalism is abysmal. Never have I had such an experience, steer clear. Pulled a classic bait-and-switch. I was communicating with Taylor Moran (title - Internet Sales Consultant) over a specific vehicle in their inventory (Red Camaro 1SS w/ 1LE pkg) over the course of a few days. I made an appointment and confirmed several times, both over e-mail and over the phone, that I would be checking out the vehicle and had a commitment contingent upon a test drive to see if the car is 100% right for my needs. Having a very limited schedule and driving down from 1.5hrs away - I made it *extremely* clear with Taylor that if the car does not exist or I cannot test drive it, to tell me in advance so neither of us waste our time. I understand some dealerships do not test drive some limited production models but was swiftly assured it would be no problem. As any informed buyer, I was not going to make a $46,000 commitment without being 100% sure I am making the right decision on a vehicle. I arrive to the dealership ~15mins early to my scheduled appointment and was greeted by the sales manager, John Berriola, who asked me to wait a few minutes for a sales associate to open up. I was a bit surprised because I was supposed to be dealing with Taylor directly as she specifically told me over the phone - but had no problem being patient and continuing my business with someone else. In a few minutes, I'm introduced to Chris who immediately tells me that the car was sold this morning. This is not my first dealership rodeo and I was quite displeased that I was lied to and told that the car was available right before I drove all the way down. I was told they have a white model in stock. I gave them the benefit of the doubt so I can at least check it out, drive it, and then if the stars align we can order the car with my intended specifications. We get to the car and I am told that I cannot test drive it because of "weather conditions" (it had rained earlier in the day but the weather was clear and roads were dry at my time of arrival). Neither John nor Chris offered any sympathy or accommodation for my business. Just minutes ago, a family of three came in asking to test drive a different vehicle and John told them absolutely and it would be no problem. Conflicting statements here, but I digress.. I gave the staff here several opportunities to make it right and made no fuss but they refused to make any attempt at an honest sale. It's very clear that there is zero staff intercommunication within the dealership as everyone has a different story. Robert Chevrolet is one of the best dealers in NY to go to. After visiting a family friend last year, my vehicle from a different manufacturers headlights went out. I took it to the nearest dealer, which in this case was this dealer. Got my car fixed and back on the road in a reasonable amount of time. Traded that car in a few months later and bought something else. This place will be on my radar the next time I need anything and am in LI. read more

Second, If we were told by the salesman or sales manager that on-star no longer did hands free telephone, probably would have gone elsewhere for a different brand. The worst! To make a long story short. I walked in alone I made an appointment with Bianca over the phone inquiring about leasing a chevy tahoe. I get there and she's just the receptionist. She gets some Irish looking fellow around 50 yrs old. I don't remember his name because I was in there 30 seconds. He quoted me a ballpark figure $100 more a month and $3500 down then another Chevy dealer I went to in Freeport. Freeport didn't want any $ down and was $100 less a month for the same trim...same exact truck!!!!?? I don't think the salesman wanted to waste his time speaking to a female that came in alone looking for a large truck. Inquired about placing a factory order. John Disanto Sales Consultant told me he couldn't give me a price until the vehicle was delivered "because the price might go up". In the past I have factory ordered vehicles and the price was always agreed upon at the time it was ordered, not delivered. Just picked up a new lease car yesterday and I have bought and leased at least 12 cars in the past rarely two form the same dealer. I have too say this was the most pleasant , painless transactions I have done. I don't know anyone who finds the process of getting a new car the least bit enjoyable. So that said, I did my homework, researched the car I wanted and began the agony. Our first transaction was with Sales Manager John Berriola, John asked questions, I asked questions, John was personable, and non aggressive in the least to coax us into getting a car that day which was June 30, last day of the quarter and last day of the car sales half. I was impressed, we left and was told to call when we were ready. He also followed up. Next visit we knew what we wanted, test drove the car and struck a deal. John had Sam Syed Sales Consultant take it from there. Sam also was extremely personable, took us for a test drive , answered all our many questions especially when explaining all the new accessories on the car. All through the process I waited for the sales pitch to be aggressive, the numbers to change, the add on fees to be slid onto the deal, warranties, etc. etc. All the things U dread when buying/leasing a car. You see I have been programmed to expect these negative aspects of car purchases from my years of doing this. It never happened. Could there actually be a dealer who made the process better? Could a dealer finally have figured out they were in the same boat as the dentists and tax accountants of the world ( no offense) but people who the rest of us avoid at all costs! Maybe Robert Chevrolet has cracked the mold and realized the old ways of selling cars doesn't work anymore. Try Roberts and you decide. Kudos to John and Sam , great job ! read more

Had to wait one week to get my Cruze into the service department because the turbo wasn't working and when my auto body guy told them the car was in an accident they told him they couldn't get to it for weeks! I lease the car from Robert and they still wouldn't even look at it. I asked for the service person to call me and he never did. When I called the service department the next day and, asked to speak to the service mgr the girl on the phone laughed and said good luck with that he never answers his phone! I was not laughing! Just wanted to share my experience with the service department on 05/20/20. I brought my 2019 Corvette in for an inspection and a oil change. I arrived at 1:45 pm for a 2:00 pm appointment with Ozzie , the Corvette Tech. At 1:58 pm, I see Ozzie take my car into the service area and starts to work on my car. About 40 minutes later, Ozzie comes into the waiting area and says your car is done and everything is fine with the car. I go to the front desk and I am directed to the cashier window where I paid the bill and the got in my car and went home. You can't get any better than that. no hassles, no pressure to buy any extra services, just straight up service with a smile. Came into service with a tire concern .... waited an hour and a half for them to tell me there was a nail in my tire and that they can't fix it that it was a liability. Okay fine, I wasn't annoyed it took so long for them to tell me that even though that took a while even for a slow day on a Monday. The guy at the desk told me five minutes and my car will be out I waited 15 minutes before saying anything and I asked what was taking so long if they aren't fixing my car, I want my car back I didn't want to stay there any longer than I already had. So the guy at the desk went and got my car for me. Wtf ?! Service at that place sometimes sucks. Nothing special about this dealership. Very disappointed in their attitude. Seems like they don't want to spend time with you if they feel they can't hussle you. Went in not sure what I wanted, but I was sure it was going to be a Chevy. Told them right off the bat that I like keeping my business close to home and needed a car within a week. They gave me HIGH numbers on a Tahoe and Cruze HB. And when I say HIGH, I mean RIDICULOUSLY HIGH. Anyways, asked them to come down on the price since this Chevy dealership is in my town and I was serious about closing with them, they came back with nothing. Didn't budge a penny. Next day, some nice lady calls to see how my visit went. I was honest with her and she too didn't care to get me back in the dealership. At that point I decided to go elsewhere, not naming dealership here. For a shop that's been around for so long, I was expecting a bit more professionalism. Got a 39 months lease from them a while back. The sales person was not too pushy which I appreciated very much. My requested vehicle had pretty specific options and it took them almost 2 months to find a close match at a dealership in CT. Since my previous car was totaled while parked by my house and the insurance covered only 1 month of my renter car Robert Chevrolet recognized the problem and covered the other month of the loaner (over $600). I would have given them 5 stars but I cannot and here is why. When it was my turn to be processed after waiting on line for the service department to open, I had to deal with someone (the person who I handed the car over to) who treated me as if I wasn't there. He was not rude but I did say good morning and thank you but he was not responsive. It would be nice to be greeted warmly when interacting with your employees. Just a simple 'hello' would have been nice. Other than that everything was great. A little courtesy goes a long way. BTW, I am not thin skinned and deal with many rude people everyday. I was ripped off! I took my car into Robert Chevrolet in late April to address some recalls. While they had my car, I asked for (and was charged for) a routine synthetic oil change. Fast forward to early September (~4 months and ~3k miles later) and my engine is rough idling and near stalling, and the check engine light eventually comes on. Went to my home town mechanic (who I trust WAY more than Robert Chevrolet) and he said I was running out of oil and it seemed as though I hadn't had an oil change in +7k miles! There are no leaks and no other signs for why the oil would be that low, other than I didn't actually get any oil in April! He told me I was lucky it didn't do any significant permanent damage to the engine! This morning I called Robert Chevrolet and asked to speak to the manager, trying to find out what might have happened. And without even considering the possibility that Robert Chevrolet did anything wrong, he immediately goes "You're wrong! That's not how I do business!" over and over again. He was unbelievably rude and completely unprofessional, especially considering he is the manager of a SERVICE department. Will never go back to Robert Chevrolet and I will tell everyone I know to avoid them. read more

Be mindful of the "smoke and mirrors" The business manager responds and allegedly wants me to give him a call. The sales manager had one of the girls in the office give me a call to offer me a free oil change to make things better! That is the same way they could have contacted me if it was customer service driven and not just about appearance. They continue to pour salt into a fresh wound. They were lower than any other dealer without me telling them the price I already had ! The salesman was very professional he treated me with respect. I called and made an appointment for 8am on 3/31 for my first oil change on my Impala. I arrived on time and only ask for a oil change nothing more with your Service adviser John. It took them 45 minutes to get my car into your shop and almost another 90 minutes to get it out of your shop after some complaining that it was taking over two hours to get a simple oil change. Why didn't the woman making appointments say that it was a first come first serve when I was making the appointment? What's the sense of making an appointment? Why would it take over an hour once it was in the shop to change engine oil? When getting my car back I looked it over only to find oil on my engine compartment front shroud . Also when looking at my invoice it stats that I requested a tire rotation which I did not. I didn't ask anyone to touch my tires just an oil change. Your service department needs better communication skills for making an appointment and informing the customer exactly what they are doing to their car. I have called 11:40am .. and they told me the person taking appointment is out for lunch, they took my name and number, but no call back. I have called again and they told me to call later again because the person is not on its desk. Called the third time and again, same story. Does this dealer seems to have good customer service? This service department is horrible! I called on 10/2/18 and wanted to make an appointment to have my 2018 Traverse looked at because my check engine light came on and my car won't drive over 10mph. They gave me an appt on 10/22/18. In the meantime the closest place to where I basically broke down re-set the computer in the car & I was able to drive. When I dropped my car off on 10/22 the service department said that I should come back when my check engine light comes back on. I told them no, because this is the 2nd time I've had an issue with my car and it does not drive correctly. 2 Days later they called me to say "it's definitely the transmission, just not sure exactly what". Since I did not purchase my car from them I could not get a loaner car. I called Chevy directly and they would give me a rental for 3 days. Upon speaking to Robert Chevrolet Svc department, I mentioned I was getting a rental from Chevy directly. My svc advisor told me to not to and he would give me a car because Chevy themselves would only pay for 3 days. I asked if they would have my car for longer than 3 days and he says its possible another 2-3 maybe. FAST FORWARD to today 12/3/18 - 7 weeks later they still have my car! Every week I was told "they are looking at it"; "it's a weird one"; "its a doosey"; "they need to contact Chevy technical support because it's something with the computer"; "they only have 2 guys that can work on transmissions. my car should be next". End point, it's 7 weeks later. They have NOT DONE ANYTHING to my car. GM customer senior advisor has gotten involved and he was told by Robert Chevrolet that they are very busy and my car "could" be done next week but they don't know. It's 7 weeks later and i've been lied to and given the run-around. I am picking up my car just to start all over with a new service department. And to back track, the "loaner" car they gave me smelled terribly like smoke. When I requested a new car because I had to drive my 3 kids around I was told they do not have another car to give me; they would clean it & to bring it over. I asked how would they clean it & they said they have chemicals they use for such occasions. So I can drive my 3 kids around breathing in chemicals? There was NO WAY that smell would ever come out. They gave me the errands car their employees use. It was not a "courtesy vehicle". It had over 8000 miles on it and was very messy. I demanded a different car, and they finally gave me a BRAND NEW loaner that was sitting on the lot the entire time I was dealing with them. They are LIARS!!!!!!!!!! I went in on 3/21/14 I met a gentleman by the name of Tom, I was interested in a Chevy trailblazer, I called him early in the morning and set up an appt. he started by kissing my butt typical car salesman style. I gave him, my information once he ran my credit he made me feel like I was wasting his time, he kept looking around, and staring into space and making face and rolling his eyes anytime I asked him a question. He kept watching the potential customers walk in and out. He made me feel like my business didn't matter to him.. And to be honest my credit is not the best. But in today's economy who's is?. Tom kept getting up in the middle of my question cutting me off really rude. Worst experience... I want to make this clear maybe the Robert Chevrolet is a good dealership and maybe I got TOM the salesman on a bad day but beware of this person. Sales staff was superb (we bought our car from Sam/Sajid in Dec. 2013 and he was wonderful.) Service, on the other hand, was atrocious. Customer Service refused to address a water leak problem I had on my 2013 Suburban with 16,000 miles. They refused refused to provide enough resources/invest enough time to fix it. I have reported my experience to a Vice President at General Motors. I will be making an extra effort to ensure my peers/colleagues do not get service at Robert Chevrolet. read more

I purchased my vehicle here but I highly recommend that everyone avoid servicing their vehicle at this location. The service manager (Tony) and service Rep (David) are complete scam artists. Their is a reason why this establishment has only 1 and 2 start ratings. I just recently serviced my vehicle here and spent $3,200.00 for new tires/brakes/rotors/fan belt/and air filter. I keep everything in top condition and only bring my vehicles to an authorized service center. My air conditioning was working perfectly when I rolled into this service center. When they issued the car back, it was inoperable. I called service the next morning and they asked for me to return the car. They held my car for days without inspecting it. I then asked the service rep (David) to speak to the manager (Tony). I was told that he would call back, but he never cared to. I called again and asked what the status was, but the same service rep stated that they would look at it "tomorrow," so I demanded an answer after my car was held in their possession for (4) days. I received a call back 10 minutes after my phone call and the rep stated that my condenser was shot with a chuckle. It was all a lie and a scam to make money. I mentioned to him that I am a licensed HVAC company owner and that my ac was fine the day I dropped it off at service. Long story short, when the tech was changing my fan belt, he shifted the aluminum lines to the system and created a freon leak. General Motors filed my complaint and requested that I remove the vehicle immediately from their possession. Tony the manager and David should both be reprimanded directly by GM and the better business bureau. They're scam artists. I am in the process of filing the proper paperwork with General Motors and (2) other agencies in order to red flag this establishment. read more

The worst customer experience I have ever experienced in my life. They refused to work on my Chevrolet that was under warranty due to the fact I bought it from another dealership 2 years prior. To add icing on the cake...all my change in my center console was stolen and my sun visor was damaged. Tony Carozza who is the service department manager is a total prick and does not care, never returned any of my phone calls. They actually tried to tell me I needed $758 in work but in reality it was a $58 valve cover gasket that was leaking vacuum and oil. Filed complaint with GM and BBB. I do not know how in God's name they stay in business. STAY CLEAR AWAY! I wish I read the reviews online before going there! read more

Horrible service dept. They have an appt wait time of almost three weeks. They are so backed up they don't care about good customer relations because there are too many fish in the pond to care about you. Stay away. They will say whatever they have to in order to make money off of you. If it's not for a GM recall, you are better off finding another shop to work on your car.
