When my father in law retired from dentistry, my husband and I thought we'd never find another dentist with technical and personal skills anything at all like Dad's. Well, Dr. Solow is as close as we could ever hope to get. He cares about his patients, has Saturday appointments which are great for working people like us, keeps up to date on the latest in dentistry, but still has that 'old school' approach to his patients and his (in many cases very) long-term staff members. Don't know how else to say this but this is a 'happy' dental office, well-kept (good magazines too!). Dr. Solow's modern office has the latest equipment : computer x-rays, crowns on same day visit and fabulous hygienists. He is very gentle and you can tell he genuinely cares about each and every one of his patients!! Despite how long he's been in practice, he is always current on the latest techniques and technology and he's incredibly knowledgeable. Don't usually leave a bad review but In this case I will called and spoke with Dena about a visit to come see the doctor about a tooth of mine she promised me it would be free of charge so I came in spoke with the dentist had the tooth looked at. They took ex-rays and said that I needed a a post with a crown. Dentist an staff were nice. They quoted me $643 to do the work and told them I would get back to them. One month later I get a bill in the mail for my free appointment. Called and Dena explained that we charge for ex-rays. Very disappointed with the outcome and left with a bad taste in my mouth!! Please make sure you ask about all hidden charges when dealing with these people just a warning. Good luck! read more

I had read a review by someone who said he hadn't been to a dentist in a while and was not made to feel bad so I went into my first appt with Dr. Solow optimistically (my mom as well). We had not been for a few years. Unfortunately for us we got a hygienist (Shervin if I recall) who was extremely condescending. She showed me a mirror (so I could see how bad my teeth looked---Dr. Solow himself said I had very good teeth)--and she hardly ever let me spit. Only twice. I made the mistake of swallowing and wow, the residue was still there which I did not know. She had not cleaned it out enough and would not let me spit enough. She gave me the lightest cleaning I ever had. (My teeth looked no better after than when before I walked into the office). She told my mom she didn't have to do a lot since she'd be back for the deep cleaning (which I have never heard of before and in prior cleanings the hygienist had always worked hard to get out anything between teeth etc). Everyone else was great---Dr. Solow himself, the receptionist and the technicians (Cecy and Virginia) who took our x rays (they were understanding of both my mom's fibro and my small mouth). Shervin on the other hand wanted my mom to open more and keep her mouth open and was unsympathetic and/or not understanding of my mom's difficulty due to her fibromyalgia. My mom said she will never go back to her because she did not seem she wanted to treat anyone with problems. Would love to give a higher rating to the rest of the staff but can only give two stars due to our dental hygienist. Will not be back if have to stay with her; she gave my mom an indication that we will still be with her if we return. This would've been five stars if she had been up to par with the rest. read more

I am so thankful for Dr. Solow. My family has been going to him regularly for about 25 years. I have had other dental procedures done by other dentists, but Dr. Solow is by far the most gentle with painful procedures. I recently had an accident where I chipped half of my front tooth, and it was on a day his office was closed. I left a message, and minutes later he gave me a call and opened his office for me just to fix my smile. He genuinely cares about how great my smile looks, and he goes out of his way to be there for me during emergencies. I choose to go to Dr. Solow because he treats me like family and he is an honest man. Also, he has done an amazing job on my mom's veneers, and I cannot wait for him to do mine. Dana, his secretary, is an insurance wizard. Dana will always do whatever she can to make Dr. Solow's dental expertise affordable for college students like myself. His hygienists are very friendly and they build close relationships with their clients. Every 6 months I go in for a cleaning, they all remember me and it is almost like no time has passed. Unlike most people, I don't dread going to the dentist because he makes everything as painless and pleasant as possible. He also is wonderful with children, and he always gave me prizes, toys, and stickers every time I went as a child. If you want a great dentist who is truly passionate about what he does and genuinely cares about his patients and is considerate about the pain they experience, Dr. Solow is the best option for you. read more
