here's what happened in August my car was vandalized and sugar was the suspected contaminant.. the…read moreinsurance company had sent their fuel collections expert out to get the sample (most people don't realize that sugar doesn't dissolve in gas it remains granular they're not bondable at all even at the molecular level and a sample can only be taken from the bottom of the fuel tank I didn't know this but this collection expert did... all modern Toyotas have a antisiphon mechanism in the fuel neck leading down to the fuel tank.. I didn't know this but the collections expert did and brought a siphon tool with him anyway.. when he couldn't get the siphoning tool down to the bottom of the tank he puzzled and puzzled and said "I know I'll take it from the fuel line" since sugar doesn't dissolve in gas that would make that post fuel filter sugar all gets caught in the fuel filter so taking the sample from this fraudulent illegitimate location resulted in a false negative I didn't know this but the collections expert certainly did.... the insurance company used that negative result to close the claim even though my car is just as damaged as the day it happened... the insurance company said that I could have the car towed and have a sample retrieved from the bottom of the tank and I could submit it to an independent lab and I could get a report back and they would take a look at my results..... I did decided to go a different route as far as sending them the results and sue them in small claims court for $12,000... I needed however a mechanic that could get the samples allow me to document the process on a camcorder... Josh the lead mechanic at City Automotive said that he would help me that he would collect the samples and video the process.. and that I could not be there to video it for insurance purposes... a big bag of BS. because I have seen customers on their service floor many times when I went back to see how the garage operates... but he assured me that he understood the assignment to retrieve a sample from the fuel line post fuel filter the same way that the insurance company did and then obtain a sample from the bottom of the tank the way the insurance company should have done in the first place said he would go in under the back seat where the fuel pump is (and he would put the samples in the pre-labeled jars that I provided him) I said outstanding.... here's why the one star I would give it zero Stars if I could he called me up and said it was all done I went there and asked him to see the footage of the process.. he said his wife and his child were waiting in the car and that he didn't have time "I said well I need to see the footage before I'm going to pay you" he started showing me some of it and he said "this is pissing me off" I said "why? this is business and I want to see the product before I pay you for it"then Josh threatened to throw my camera and bust it.. I told him I wasn't given in the money until I see the product until I see the video and see what he's done because it all had to be documented for evidence..... come to find out the reason he didn't want me to video it it's because he wasn't going to do the work. when I lifted the back seat out it was quite obvious that fuel pump had not been removed there was a light coating of undisturbed dust on everything under there fuel pump removal 101 says that you have to vacuum out blow out and remove all the dust particles before breaking open the fuel pump chamber of the gas tank nothing was touched and the dust was all there Josh had filled the sample jars with gas from somewhere, but it wasn't from my car and that's why he was so indignant that I wanted to see the footage.. Josh got in his car and took my camera and when I texted him that I was going to call the police he brought the camera back but kept the video card said he was going to file a mechanics lien against my car and and gave me $20 for the price of the video card.... I said if you did the work you'd let me see the video and if you did the work the fuel pump would not look undisturbed with dust all over everything.... Josh thought I was a sucker and that he could make it look like he gave me everything I needed for this case. Josh was just going to rip me off for $325...... here are the pictures of the fuel pump under the seat look at all the dust the dark spots are where I rubbed the dust off of it, not him.. I just wanted to see how easily it was to tell if it had been Disturbed and what it would look like if you touched it at all if Josh at City Automotive would try to scam me out of $325 this way, what would Josh try to do to you
