Very honest owner/ manager! Have taken 2006 there a couple times! Phil will tell you what needs to be fixed. Doesn't add on other repairs. The greatest in when he tells you that that car is fine! I needed a smog for my 2003 vehicle ( I know what a rip, thanks for nothing Gov B). I called around a getting quotes ranging from 40.00 to 78.00 ( I know right)? I saw an smog place on yelp and called they had a price of 40.00 ( including cert. and transmission ). I noticed on their website they offer 10.00 on any service including smog. So stop calling around and go directly to the Auto Doctor in N. Palm Springs, the owner is Joe ( super friendly honest guy) and get your smog for 30.00 (with 10.00 discount coupon). After contacting the auto doctor i discovered they are booked out at least three days as well as they should be they are honest and fair. they diagnosed my air condition problem and although the over all cost prevented me from having them repair it . I am sold! I recently took my car to the Auto Doctor it was running very bad (I.e. Start up problems and sluggish performance). Joe the owner fixed my Hyundai Entourage in one day. He found the issues and made the repairs. However, several weeks beforehand I had taken my vehicle to the local dealership for an AC problem; it took them 2 1/2 weeks to figure out the problem. On our way out to LaQuinta for a family weekend away and our check engine light pops on as we exit to grab lunch at Del taco off Indian Canyon Dr. Car starts running weird and we're thinking we're gonna have to leave the car somewhere out here, Uber to the airport to rent a car so we can get to our vacation destination. I Yelp "auto mechanics nearby" and find the Auto Doctor. We eat lunch and the car is still running weird. So we drive the half-mile over the freeway to see Joe, the Auto Doctor. In walks our family and he walks out to see what's wrong with our car. In less than 5 minutes he diagnoses and treats the car and it is fixed! Lets us know the fix is temporary and tells us what we need to tell our regular mechanic, back at home. This is a great auto shop. I had a break down on the side of the Freeway, so I had had to be towed to the closest shop, which was Auto Doctor. They were already closed when I got there, so I left my car there and called them first thing the next morning and explained what happened. I talked to Joe, and he was very nice and knowledgeable and said he'd have my car fixed in a couple hours (not days), which was such a relief. When I picked the car up, he was super friendly and he didn't put pressure on me to fix the other twenty little things wrong with my car, but he did mention the more immediate ones and said he'd be there when I was ready to get them fixed. He also has a bible open on the counter of his shop, which I thought was a great touch. If you need car repairs, go see Joe and his associates as soon as possible. Had the most bizarre thing happen to my the lower control arms on my passenger wheel go missing and fortunately pulled off interstate 210 and Auto Doctor was right there and saw Joe and his wonderful wife and knew that's where I needed to go I instantly walked in and felt so welcome and as Christian rock was on and I knew I hit the jack pot Joe was swift with fixing my car and got everything done and we were out in a jiffy. This place deserves more reviews. This last weekend, it was 117 degrees and my AC was blowing hot air. In fact, my wife suffered from heat stroke, as a result. I was in from Seattle and I did not know who to trust. So, I looked up the Yelp top rated auto shops in the Palm Springs area and drove around to interview them. I saw some dirty places and got some wild guesses. I am very leery of "shade tree mechanics" when traveling long distances, especially with my wife in the car. I stopped by the Palm Desert Dealer but was turned off by the Service Techs analysis of the problem. Mr. Bjornberg was polite, helpful, and answered my questions. His place looks professional. Check out all of the Certificates on the wall. They've had a lot of professional training. Their shop is very clean and well organized. It was one of the few shops where you can sit comfortably in the clean waiting area and wait. He worked me right in and got me back on the road in an hour with cold air. He did not try to up sell anything. Reasonably priced and honest. Nice to know this place is there. read more

While returning to AZ in our motorhome, we started hearing a very loud "clanking" noise under the hood. We were able to determine that the crank pulley and harmonic balancer had separated. Being the Friday after Thanksgiving, we were fully anticipating having to leave our RV for repair, rent a car, and then drive back to CA to pick up our unit the following week. Thank goodness for this place! I was driving on the freeway near Palm Springs when my car felt like it was driving strangely. Auto Doctor was the closest repair shop nearby, so I pulled off at the next exit and headed over there. I got there about 15 minutes before closing, so I was worried they wouldn't be able to help me. I explained the issue to Joe and he immediately dropped what he was doing to help me out. He diagnosed the problem (which thankfully ended up being minor) and fixed it for me without me having to ask! He could have so easily turned me away since the shop was about to close, but instead, he did the opposite. He put my mind at ease and when I thanked him, he acted like it was no trouble at all. He left me with a smile and "Have a blessed day!" Such a nice, knowledgeable, welcoming, and accommodating guy. I'm not sure what I would have done if he didn't go out of his way to help me out.
