Then I was recommended to Liz at Williamsville Optical which is a small, family-owned business. Liz, who is part owner, told me that the vertical alignment of progressive lenses among other factors has to be accurate in order to get clear vision at all distances. The glasses she fitted for me are such that I'm not even aware that I'm wearing progressives. However, during my exam with Dr. Sirkin there was a few instances where she made me feel uncomfortable and I was in pain. I was having trouble keeping my eyes open during the eye pressure test. I told her I wanted to skip it and she kept insisting that I needed to do it. Then she wanted to put more numbing drops in my eyes and was holding my eye open with her two fingers. At this point I felt a sharp pain and told her that hurt but she would not back off which upset me. I again told her it hurt and that I thought it was her finger nail putting pressure on my skin. Needless to say when I patient says they are in pain or says no there should be no questions and the doctor should listen. Will never come back to this practice again.
