never expected the most damaging part of my experience at Monument Health to be the way my concerns…read morewere handled afterward. I had the surgery with Monument Health Plastic Surgery, and the surgeon was Dr. Olga Schuth. I underwent a medically necessary breast reduction to relieve chronic neck and back pain. Before surgery, I made it clear that pain relief and function were my priority, and I consented to a free nipple graft if necessary to achieve an adequate reduction. After surgery, I discovered through my records that significantly less tissue was removed than what had been discussed and pre-authorized. I was never informed that the surgical plan had changed, and I continue to experience the same pain I sought surgery to relieve. What followed was a pattern of dismissal, poor communication, and documentation that did not accurately reflect my concerns or interactions with the surgical team. Questions about drains, pain relief, and the outcome were minimized or omitted from the record entirely. One of the most distressing moments occurred during a follow-up appointment where I was undressed, emotional, and trying to understand why the surgery had not achieved the intended medical goal. Instead of compassion or accountability, I felt dismissed, overwhelmed, and emotionally exposed while multiple members of the surgical team defended the outcome rather than addressing my concerns. The grievance letters I later received from Monument Health acknowledged that the surgical plan changed based on "clinical judgment," yet never addressed the core issue: whether I was informed of or consented to that change. The responses felt focused on defending the institution rather than understanding the patient experience or outcome. This experience has deeply affected my trust in the healthcare system. Patients deserve honest communication, accurate documentation, informed consent, and to be treated with dignity when they are vulnerable and seeking help.

I went to visit my mother today and noticed her breathing was labored. I went to check her oxygen level. This is what I saw.

Dr. Patrick Clinch has a method of chiropractic that is not only gentle and effective, but it is also transforming if you follow the instructions that he has for you. His true heart is to get you healthy and therefore happy. He doesn't herd you in and herd you out like many offices, he spends time on you and your individual needs. He is a devout Christian man and would pray with you right in the office if you ask him to. That's how much he cares about you. Clinch Family Chiropractic is an absolute must for you. Everybody's physical body needs maintenance. Just like a car. You're not gonna run over a pothole and go to Jiffy Lube to get it realigned. You're going to go to the alignment shop. The greatest alignment shop in the Black Hills is Dr Patrick Clinch with Clinch Family Chiropractic. Well, I guess that "Clinch's it! "

Blood tests, Xrays and scans later, I was given a prescription for non-narcotic muscle relaxers and sent home. Two days later, I went to see Dr Clinch. After listening to my circumstance to include my pointing and demonstrations, he explained what he believed was happening with my ligatures. Then he laid me out, applied some pressure here and there, and suggested a couple of exercises. Follow-up appointment was made for three days later. I felt SO MUCH BETTER, I could not believe it. I thought better of dancing into his office just in case I might trip.He asked, "On a scale of 1 to 100, how does it feel?" I said; "80%, it is almost normal" He asked "Are you sure?" I just smiled and demonstrated my movements which were extremely different than my previous visit. He smiled! IF you have a stiffness, a mobility, or a joint problem, THIS is the man to see. He has ha gift and a knowledge beyond the many chiropractors I've visited over the years (I'm 64 BTW, retired veteran who had a very physically intense mission for years). Thanks Dr. Clinch!

Michelle Wasson, CHAPA-C is my provider as well as the provider for my son and my significant…read moreother. For the record, she is NOT a nurse practitioner, nor is she a doctor or a physician. She is a PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT. The CHAPA-C actually stands for Certified Child Health Associate Physician Assistant. What this means is that she actually went through extra training/testing for the child health associate piece. She was a nurse first and still caries the compassion and empathy of a nurse with her into her practice. She has over 18 years experience as a Physician Assistant, I believe. Although some would like you to believe that it is as easy as paying $450 and taking a test, it's not. PA's and NP's have to go through rigorous education programs and hundreds of hours of clinical rotations. Once they achieve their degree and certification, they have to do so many hours of continuing education every year and PA's have to retake their exam every few years. Besides all of that technical information, Michelle's bedside manner is unlike any other. When she is in the room with you, you know that you matter. She takes the time to listen to you and to your concerns. She makes sure that you are in agreement with whatever is going to happen whether it is lab work, x-rays or something else. She includes you in the plan and genuinely listens to your input. She tries to find ways to get you medications as cheap as possible and is very knowledgable regarding community resources and financial assistance. I trust her more than I've trusted any other provider and I'm so happy that she sees my whole family.
