My hair stylist, Dakota, is everything and more. She's patient, easy to talk to, hard working, and she's literally a wizard at hair. I've never loved my hair more than when I started going to her. She feels like a friend doing my hair at this point. We've done blonde, pink, and red. She's amazing at every single hair color, but if you want to do a fun color, I even more highly recommend her! The staff here in general is just so welcoming and I always feel taken care of. They still have great pricing and it's always worth every penny. The salon is consistently clean and cute, too. I'm happy with how my hair turned out after the revision. However, I also want to be honest about my experience during the appointment. The combing was extremely rough and painful. At one point, the stylist (Jenna) said, "You don't have a tender scalp, do you?" I felt uncomfortable saying that it actually did hurt, because I didn't want to seem difficult after she had offered the correction. Looking back, I wish I had spoken up, but I also wish there had been more care taken to make sure I was comfortable. I just wanted to be honest about what happened!

She charged me $421 (including my $79 deposit) less the root touch up coz I decided not to have it anymore. I felt like I was taken advantage. Will never go back! ***Response to the owner: You didn't discuss about the extra product that is $90! You only told me when I was about to pay. Yes, I decided not to have the root touch up anymore and was hoping I will pay less but I ended up paying more because of your extra charge. The partial custom blonde session you charged me $202 + $79 deposit = $281. I know toner is included in the price. The extra product you clearly said because my hair is so thick. My gray hair were still visible and to the point that I went to the other salon to have it root touched up coz it looks bad...that was my bad coz I decided not to get it but hoping root smudge will help. Anyway, my main complaint is the $90 extra product which you clearly told me was for the "3 bowls" of products which I understood for the extra color. Over all, I was not satisfied of your service. If you want a great hair cut, come to Beauty Time. Period. Professional, friendly, talented, convenient location, reasonable rates. You won't be disappointed. (I've posted before and after pics of my cuts with this review.) Plus, they are fully up to date with covid protocols and thorough cleanliness so no worries there. (In fact, Nick's wife Arcana was cutting my hair even before they opened their own shop and I followed her to their own place--that's what a good job she does.) Beauty Time's downtown Arlington Heights location is very convenient if you live anywhere near Arlington Heights--tons of free parking, plus plenty of other businesses nearby if you're running errands. I think most guys have Nick work on them--my 17 year old son does, and he has had multiple style changes and has always been very happy with the results...plus they are very reasonably priced. Same thing with my mother before she became home-bound. Since Arcana has been my stylist for so long I usually call and ask when she'll have time and we work it out so I walk straight into the chair.
