It saddens me to share my first and last experience with this salon, as I like to support local businesses and try to turn a negative into a positive. However, this was not the case. First of all, I have really long, straight to wavy hair and wanted a "body wave" curl for easy style after a shower. My appointment was at 2pm, and met the stylist (Cathy) who was to do the perm. Because my hair is long, I was on the chair getting rollers placed in my hair for at least 3 hours =( Solution saturated my hair for 20-30 minutes and was rinsed twice. The aftermath of the perm turned my hair into spiral curls, NOT what I wanted. Cathy said that it would take 1-2 weeks for the perm to settle into my hair. I left the salon at 7:10pm with dripping wet, spiral curls, and very upset. Exactly three weeks from the salon service, my hair has become matted, ultra frizzy and so unmanageable, it looks like a birds nest. I have tried all the recommended products that was suggest (i.e. Redken Curvaceous) and nothing has helped. I truly regret going to this salon, getting the service I was not happy with, and when asked for a refund, I am being ignored and pushed aside. My experience only confirms my worst nightmare of a hair salon. read more

I took a trip back to Chicago to visit some family and friends and decided to get my hair color fixed that had not turned out the way I wanted to. I did it myself. Anyways I made an appointment with Jessica who worked magic with not only my color but my cut also. She had a challenge as my hair had so many colors which does not really show to well in the before picture. Jessica really worked well with the colors and it turned out so much better than I could have imagined. I have been receiving so many compliments on it especially when I decide to curl it. I am new to the area and received an welcome offer to check them out. Lisa did my hair and Sharon did my mani/pedi. Both were great. The salon is a bout a 15-20 min drive for me and even though there are a few places that are only a few minutes from my house I will I will make the drive to come back again. The salon has a lot to offer color cut, style, nail service, facials and possibly more. I like that it is a one stop shop. The staff is very nice and you can see that they all enjoy working there. I have been there two times for hair color and cut. The staff is very friendly. I actually colored my hair with blue highlights. The team there work well together. The music is not blasting like other salons and I like that. The reception area is welcoming. I have been to salons where they ignore me and know I am there. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with Roberta William Hair Salon. I have been a client of Roberta Williams, ever since I followed my hair stylist, Kristen, to this salon nearly 10 years ago. On April 11th, 2013 I was getting my hair dyed. During the rinse portion Kristen wanted to show me how to rinse my hair if I was to dye it at home. Unfortunately, as she was showing me a large portion of the hair dye dripped off of her arm and into my eye. The pain was so severe I thought I was having a heart attack. Despite Kristen's attempts to flush my eye the pain would not subside. As a result I called my husband for a ride to the hospital. After fifteen minutes of sitting in the salon trembling with chills, associated with the panic attack I was now in, was I finally offered a ride to the emergency room. As a result of this incident I was unable to work for several days, between the lost work and hospital charges I am out of over one thousand dollars! After all the years I have been getting my hair cut by Kristen she, nor the salon, could not be bothered to call to see how I was feeling. As a result of this incident and the lack of customer service I am in pursuit of retribution for my medical expenses. Despite my several attempts to obtain the salon's insurance information the salon refused to provide the insurance company's contact information. The last time I spoke with them the Salon's Owner, Roberta, instructed me not to call again. I would like to warn current and future clients of this salon to the horrible communication service, emergency service, and customer service that have been deemed acceptable. read more
